Steven Gerrard is the new Rangers manager
trublusince1982 replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Have helped the club run itself into the ground long enough. Weve all been over it. The positives are mostly in the mind of the online support. Positive press hasnt happened and neither will the attraction of better calibre players. Only money will do that. So far the big investment is just fans online again trying to justify decisions. Will get excited at investment but not on a rookie who has never identified nor build a squad spending it. -

Sorry but plenty of bears feel nothing but dread about this. -
Had to go for a shower after that???

Yeah most have always had it backwards because celtic stole their anthem. Liverpool are the more proddy side ,more queen and country and everton are the more catholic side with church and chapel within there stadium. Though nobody really cares down their and think we are all shite and bonkers

Every negative comment is jealousy based. Every scottish media outlet is talking crap. Picks out the few positive english media pieces and uses them to say its a media witch hunt. Ignoes all the negative english pieces Don't worry all is rosy, Gerrard is a risk but worth the gamble. We will fire sale and replace the whole squad with Allen and Gerrard somehow being regarded as amazing at spotting talent and this should all be seen as a good thing. The board know what they are doing. Ignore the haters cause their never right and get behind the club, see no evil hear no evil do no evil. Mcgregor and arfield are big improvements. Think that about sums it up

Graeme Murty 'relieved of his duties' as Rangers manager
trublusince1982 replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Had he not lost more games at that point than canixiha and Warburton put together? -
Agree with what your saying but people stand on their own two feet. Doesnt matter what anyone says at the end of the day the decision is yours and yours alone. No idea why we couldnt get soneone other than murty but get the point your making. Have had enough of the snowflake behaviour we see today. He made the decision then its on him. Hes gone now. Now its the next episode in the rangers drama

So take a job you know full well your not ready or able for. That putting ones self before the club. So if that puts me with Mccinnes then I'm in better company than those who milk us for their own gain
-
I want to hear from the director of football and the ceo. How are mistakes being rectified. What are we thinking and how do tjey justify decisions made and the gerrard decision. You cant hide and only show your face when it works. They obviously believe in the murty route and are replicating it again and again. Justify that please.
-
Nobody forced him to take the job. Je decided he was ready then made his intentions for fulltime known Yes he grabbed an opportunity but did he take the time to look past the benefits to himself to see the risk it would represent the club and fans? If he didnt its his fault. If he did and decided he could do it its his fault. You make a decision the consequences are your fault.

Its a problem with mentality throughtout the club for me. We expect to be the best without thinking we need to earn it. Tactically and professionally we are behind the curve. We expect people to listen to us but we have pretty much zero respected footballing brains at the club. We have too many chiefs, all trying to get their point across or demanding historical trends continue. We need a cast iron fully shared and expressed footballing strategy. That strategy needs ti focus only on footballing excellence and ignore those across the city or in the media. We need to talk freely and openly without concern of contradiction. We need goals and aims that do not alter week to week and cover the club across the board. Basically we have lost our direction and sight of our destination. We need a man with the spine and integrity to make correct decisions and the strength to see then through. We need a manager with experience not because experience makes the man but because it allows us to determine the correct man with less room for error

Investment apparently being announced tomorrow

Much we talking? -
They have won more games in a row than us since clarke took over than we have all season. Could be wrong but also think he drew with them first game too then beat them. Not sure if there were defeats in between. Clarke will wipe the floor with murty and gerrard tactically, only thing on our side is cash. Absolutely dreadful decision to not bring in clarke but another rookie instead. Give clarke our resources and he will make a better fist of it than we have. Seen in paper couple weeks back since he has took over hes only 6 points off celtic and would be second in the league if we had all started then. 5 wins in a trot is more than any other top half team has managed. Something like 29 points from 46. At kilmarnock thats incredible

We could sack murty and get the under 18's manager to replace the old under 18's manager until the new under 18's manager from liverpool gets here -
Imagine those issues to be resolved are contracts agreed with his assistants . Usually how it goes. Main man signs with caveats not official until assistant he wants and coaching team etc agree to come too.

I dont see how he could. His comment to the press gave me pause. "Did you work on any weaknesses from previous old firm at training this week or instruct them" "nope" -

Any player on there who says hes a rangers fan but doesn't cripple brown and ensure he misses their title party is no real fan -
Our fans have lost the plot. Nobody is fearful of steven gerrard. Just goes to show logic has zero to do with anything and all it takes is a tim to take one side and our lot all jump to the other. Ignore them and think. Same person who chose Murty is choosing again and learned nothing. Follow follow has always been wild but the gerrard thread has me wondering if our schools are now as bad.

All on murty for me. Tactics are awful. Just keeps doing.the sane thing and expecting a different result. Go for five red cards and get this game finished soon as. Hes embarrassing the club and the players. He cant say its their effort this time. Its him plain and simple. The board who put him in place and removed canixhia without having a replacement should all resign. -
enjoyed that article thanks for that. Not often get to say that do we!

he can score. Boy needs help and a father figure. pity he cant change that addiction for the one we all suffer from

Poll: Steven Gerrard as Rangers manager - Yea or Nay?
trublusince1982 replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Think the whole coach manager debate would probably be used to explain the drop. Personally do think we used to massively over pay, but if we keep looking for managers in the richest league set up in the world then at our budget we will not often find unearthed diamonds. Same wage further afield brings more and in my opinion better options. But too many are stuck on this nonsense about needing to know our ways and British etc it's why I say we are xenophobic. We should look at other nations and learn instead we want them to change to ways and styles that no longer bring success
