Workaholic Warburton is going to shake Rangers
trublusince1982 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
that only happens if the league is competitive not so sure that will be the case. Not fussed about drawing the first game more worried about losing the first 4/5. Can't see us beating hibs st mirren qots or falkirk. The pressure will be huge and we have all seen what happens to this squad under pressure. Mw keeps talking about quality over numbers so far we have not added a single bit of quality to a single position. The two quality signings have been youth the rest are middling at best. We all seen the line up the other night that in no way shows quality. 3/4 signings including Holt and halliday ain't going to cover the massive cracks. Doubt very much we can win the league and have any sort of cup run with the squad not having another 6/7 added before this window shuts. -

Hearts didnt have the scrutiny nor anywhere near the pressure players at Rangers will. Patience is all good and well but only appropriate when the right outcome looks assured. The squad right now is easily the worst we have ever had. We need midfielders and forwards now who can win this league at a canter and be foundations for next year. We cannot fail to win the league this year. The reality is he loses the first 5 games he will be under massive pressure. Getting the players in before the season begins is normal pace not rushed. You get a team in ready to win the league before the season starts and supplement and fill any injuries mid season not start with a poor side then improve. -

Hope we can get something in place to help identify players soon. Patience ain't going to replace our winning mentality. Everything they are doing bar the signings seems perfect. The ethos he is trying to establish will fit perfectly with our club and it'd fans. Hope he can produce a team which will encourage fans to want more. -
We need to find a striker or att mid who can receive the ball with his back to goal and lay it off to utilise the boys passing ability and give him options rather than just going wide each time

a Youth signing? Looks about 12! -
sbs you are trying to evaluate the academy on several points that cant be mixed. uefa fifa the eca and several bodies for years have tried and failed to create a formula that is a fair reflexion of an academies success. The closest they have came is to state before evaluation the academy must first through the clubs board state its intended goals. Be it to maximise value through transfer income against outlays, have players good enough to play for the first team reducing outlay on transfers or it can also be to create footballers from local kids. If our academy was judged on transfer income it would fail but it would argue that the academy does not choose the time or price of when to sell and would point to its graduates being of a large value later on in their careers as proving its merits. If our academy was judged on how many players it had playing reguarely for the first team it would first point to the amount of players who had been promoted then once again point the finger of balme at the managers as these players have left the club then achieved a comparable level of success. If our academy was judged on how many youngsters from the local area it had taken and given the foundations to continue a professional career in football against investment it would be deemed a massive success so what criteria are you choosing? it cant be them all its impossible to do them all at once. Playing regularly would mean you didn't accept offers etc. pick one then i will play devils advocate . Common sense dictates you must first understand the criteria and parameters must be stated and evaluated fairly.

SBS how many youth players have appeared for rangers first team over the last 3 year's? Also when calculating how much Ajax have made against ours how are you detracting the original out lay? Are you calculating it as a percentage of outlay? How are you evaluating available infrastructure as an influence on outcomes? How are you then calculating the area outside the youth academies influence to make brand awareness null and void?

Best position in front of the defence think he has also been used as a fullback. Would think it will be def mid picking up the ball and spreading play. Him and winks are similar

So far I would say he is our best signing.

Happy with that. Is it first team or youth? not on Twitter so cant see what it says -
Nothing like a trip away watching your side with a group of mates. It's one of the things that keeps me coming back through all the shit. Pretty angry that we are being denied that this year. Will need to go on hols with the Mrs again. Thanks for that Mr Warburton!

McCormick £11m Hutton £9m Adam £12m Wilson £5m Arguably McGregor at the timebif not for being traitorous b £5m+ All from on under funded academy. As everyone is trying to say different arguments. To argue it has under achieved in way you infer you would need to know firstly the stated goals and the budgets along with infrastructure available Something I would love to know.

Not when those same players are later bought and sold for large fees. That's the fault of those setting the fees. We have had 3 players sold for over £8m each in their careers. A couple in double figures. That's just off the top of my head

featuring yes, regularly no. All they need to do to be counted is promoted from youth contract to professional and be in the twenty odd man squad. One appearance as sub is sufficient to be counted. The point as clearly stated is the number of children turned into professional sportsman. That is the bases of the criteria measured to ascertain an academy's success.it is measured this way to remove the cash equation. What you are talking about is quality. Completely different. Quality in academies is judged by the amount of players they produce who feature for top league teams throughout europe They must train at the club from 15-18 and be signed on professional contracts and entered the field of play for their respective team. The team must reside in the top league of the country. Not including the acadamies own club.On last check(2014) we had 14 players meeting this criteria. Not bad for the money we spend. If the English championship was included we would have many more . Each club also have their own goals for their academies that they use to measure success. For example Ajax aim to promote 3 players from youth to first team squad every 2 years. Inter milan aim for 2 players per year to feature in a game for top team Bayern aim to have top quality players within the first team who have to identify themselves fully with the club A comparison with ajax on quality produced would be unfair. Ajax spend €6m a year have 13 coaches and 55 scouts all for the youth academy alone.

Didn't reply because it makes no sense. You fail again to listen when told the standard of player or the amount of games does not matter. You then recall off the top of your head roughly the same amount of players that ajax have promoted from youth to first team as I have for rangers. Are you arguing my point or yours? If ajax are doing well then so are we. If you think ajax are in top ten for promoting players then we must be close. As said will do the numbers at the weekend if I get a chance but I think you are failing to grasp the criteria.
-
Might do the numbers this weekend on how many youths have played for the first team for us in the last 3 years, its a guess right now but I think we will have more than ajax. That's not to say they are a better standard. Standard wise we were far lower than ajax. Think we had 13 players in 2014 out with us who playedfor us from 15-18 years old who were playing in the top leagues in Europe(doesn't include English championship or any league lower than top division) .collated by cies football factory. pretty good for the amount we spend on our academy especially when you added up their combined transfer costs. Unfortunately very little went to us.
