The coach is definitely part of the current issue. The issues you raise are part of it as well but haven't stopped us doing a lot better in the past. What was very apparent on Thursday was how we were unable to change things at HT, more especially the simple thing of at least coming out with a vastly improved attitude and desire to get back in the game. A lack of ability is one thing but a passive attitude showed something in the coaching/communications dynamic is way wrong. Eck is in the wrong movie.........He should be sat down in his slippers watching it, not a part of it. To put it bluntly, he's past it and the worst thing is that is probably how some of the players see it.

#DueDiligence #Gumption It won't work 100% of the time but it'll help with prevention. Not exactly the same thing but a reasonable parallel,......... some used their napper and could see though Craig Whyte and Charles Green, too many couldn't and probably wouldn't get what I mean.

Compo Send your CV and ideas in to the SFA this morning and don't arrange anything this weekend.

That might be mitigation but he has to take responsibility for his decision. If he knew there was a risk then he didn't go in blind.

Guy who can't pin down a place at Ibrox plays and scores for World Cup Finalists !!! The unusual thing about it is that the playing and scoring for WCFs came when contracted to Rangers. It's usually before, we sign them in a blaze of publicity and it fades to grey.
-
If he allowed himself to get drawn into such a situation, it doesn't suggest he has what is needed to make it as a manager.
-
That was the worst I've ever seen from a Scotland team. It was a relatively poor looking line-up with many potential issues that you thought might manage a result due to the opposition. However, the team looked devoid of fight or leadership, never mind not knowing what to do. McGregor is never a Captain and you can see why Burke won't ever reach any significant heights in the game (attitude stinks). Eck is lost and looks like someone picked off the street and put in the dug-out. He's lost any managerial talents he once had #slippers

Bottomline If we want to see a significant and immediate improvement to a level that can see us win the title next season, we'll need to find a large pot of gold that as it stands, doesn't appear to be there. Take this immediate need (re.9/10IAR) out of the conversation for a moment and things aren't so bad. We are moving forward as a club, recovering the financials and developing the youth set-up. IMO the latter is the key to the club's chances of moving forward in a significant and financially secure way.
-
Our immediate expectation levels for the type of player we have been able to sign is unreasonably high IMO. What it ends up doing is draining confidence from players. In the past we were able to recruit a level of player who had a chance of dealing with the immediate expectation, now we can't and have to hope we get lucky. We need to give players a chance to develop and grow into the jersey. It's all very well saying we haven't time but when you don't have the level of finance you don't really have a choice, unless you take the high stakes 'all-in' bet with associated risks.

Zak Rudden scored for Scotland under 19s yesterday in a 1-3 win against Turkey (in Portugal). Eck as Scotland manager in his first spell won 7 of his 10 games and lost 3. His current spell is 4 wins and 6 defeats. 20 games and NO draws. The team tonight will have very little International experience. Possibly the least amount of caps & goals between them in a competitive Scotland fixture in recent decades. It looks like it might be a mainly SPFL provincial club defensive back four. Given transfer speculation, it will be interesting to see how Shinnie performs.

He did a programme years ago on his personal dealings with Sir Duped. It was certainly interesting. -
Given the situation, anything other than concrete news on Shinnie can be disregarded. If he was fully intending on signing for Rangers or not, the latest speculation could apply. It could be seen as his agent engaging in a bit of speculative deflection to mitigate any heat from suspicious sheep, then again it might not be. Bit like Brexit, only worth tuning in once it's done.

It could be worse, Dornan could be switched on wrt what he does. Instead, his lack of political gumption actually lends itself to what for him, is an embarrassing transparency.
-
Political decision-making, both in Scotland and the U.K. have taken a turn down Elm Street at Midnight.
-
The system as is,... is plainly NOT fit for purpose and I think the recent general consensus is that there will be change for next season. For me there has to be transparency and fair consistency when it comes to citing players. What is effectively, 'trial by Sportscene' is an embarrassing disgrace. I'd televise the panel debating the various cases to better ensure consistency from individuals. I appreciate that won't be a goer !!

Blatant cheating in the form of diving, feigning injury or something like Broadfoot did on Saturday tends to be (alongside spitting on an opponent) seen as the lowest of the low and in the world of the Scottish Fitbaw Hacks is pounced upon and squeezed for all it's worth. However, because Alfredo is involved, he shares the stage.

With our game against them coming up, I watched the first half yesterday and thought they were very ordinary. Certainly instilled a wee bit of much needed optimism regards the upcoming game if we can come out with the right mentality.

A united front wrt organisation and better weather = well attended demo That would leave pitching it correctly and broadcasting it to as wide as audience as possible.
-
One of the reasons the spiv era went on as long as it did was down to the lack of political unity or gumption within the Rangers support. Included in that was a well attended Rangers Fan demo at BBC Scotland somewhere around October 2011. A demo that's message was hijacked by a very mistaken decision to publicly defend Craig Whyte after the PQ documentary that revealed the 7 year directorship ban. Fair play to those who turned up on Saturday and they were certainly unlucky with the weather. I'm not in a position to criticise anyone for not going, sat here a long way from the rain of Glasfgow. More broadly, I think the recovery and modernisation of the club at various levels was always going to take longer than many hoped or envisaged. There are many forces lined up against us, both on and off the field. The positive is that I think we are moving forward, all be it, slowly . As far as fan representation is concerned, after the predictable teething problems, Club 1872 looks like it is starting to find it's feet and I always thought that in time other things would grow from that, eg. public but indirect link with club that was able to lobby with a reasonable success rate (similar to CQN). The Judea Peoples Front nature of our fans groups over the past decade has left a mark and there are many who simply see a set of initials and don't want involved. It's one of the scars that won't heal quickly. I think Patience and Realism are still very much required both on and off field. We'll get there if we are prepared to show a reasonable degree of P&R and the only thing that threatens that is if we try to continually force things in too much of a hurry.
