  1. IMO, the overall number is unrealistic due mostly to Raskin. I am talking about actual fees, not what Rangers may ask for. I'd imagine the two numbers s will be significantly different. Time will tell.
  2. It would be, but in the real world those are unrealistic numbers, IMO. A year ago, I remember the likes of Stevie Clifford talking about 7 or 8 million for Tav and Goldson πŸ˜‚
  3. Remember the days when following a football club was all about the football. A couple of new players. Pre season games in the likes of Inverness and Stavanger. A weekend tournament at Ibrox. Now you need at least an accounts 'O level' to count and balance the millions that might come in or out. Sad
  4. We'll just have to wait and see what the squad looks like in September. Building good foundations should be the current priority.
  5. Coady, 32 Eriksen, 33 Vardy, 38 Transfer speculation and the mythical Player Trading Model
  6. No. It is a pathetic and almost pitiful attempt by FIFA to squeeze more money out of the game. A 48 team World Cup is another bad decision, IMO.
  7. My first Rangers manager was 'Wallace 1' but the first appointment I saw happen was Greig. Spare a thought for the poor bastards who have only known a post Walter 2 society. In a lot more ways than one. First six appointments on above list span from 1954 until 1986 (32 years) Last six (before Martin) 2015 until 2025 (10 years)
  8. Polis refused to sanction it. They said that the risk of violence between pro-Tav and anti-Tav factions was too high.
  9. We're going through managers at some rate, these days. Sending them to a gun fight, armed with a knife has a predictable end.
  10. There is a distinct lack of transparency on various things to do with the takeover and going forward. We have venture capitalists in charge now, not major shareholders with an emotional attachment.
  11. A portion of twenty quid won't go far πŸ˜‰ 10M well spent is better than 20M poorly spent. Celtic spent around 20M on Engels and Idah, whilst we spent around 5M-6M on Raskin and Dessers. I'd rate our two players as currently better.
  12. You would imagine that a good proportion of any net incoming transfer monies would be.
  13. Was away for when the takeover was signed and sealed. Can anyone post a link of an interview with Andrew Cavenagh, please.
  14. As regards the appointment, the crucial aspect to it is the alignment of the various parts of the club. If there is a constructive and positive alignment that recruits well, we have a chance. Another vital aspect is Celtic and what state they are in. It looks like they are approaching a transition of sorts, including uncertainty about Rodgers (unless he signs an extension). As it stands, next season isn't as straightforward to predict as a year ago.
  15. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  16. Two questions that go together. - How much of the 20M (share issue) do you think is being ring fenced for player trading? Going by what was said on Friday past, it certainly isn't all of it. - How are we going to cover financial losses for year end June 2025 ?
  17. Sounds like the 3M fee for Lammers. Ie. The club won't actually see much of it because PrΓΆpper will want a pay off to compensate for the drop in wage.
  18. We were told that it would be fairly straightforward to get back on the rails with the new controlling shareholder consortium, who of course, knew what they were doing. The brains trust on here figured that all they'd have to do was get all their major decisions right. Major Decision coming into view.......
  19. Leeds raised money by selling players. They were in the fortunate position where they had players worth a lot of money.
  20. Those saying that domestic football is more important than the European need to take a look at that. Winning the League title doesn't get an automatic CL spot anymore, at least for a few years. Those numbers added to the match day revenue will help mitigate financial losses for year end June 2025.
  21. Cortes and Matondo putting in the crosses for Shankland and Dessers
  22. Would be interesting to know how we will line up for that first tie (including the dugout).
  23. Since it first broke on the Spanish side, I thought Ancelotti was the preferred choice and some kind of provisional deal was already done. When the FF admin / ITK posters on FF started pronouncing Gerrard as the new manager in waiting, I thought that I must have got it wrong. As they usually get it right when they go strong on a name. However, after the tweet posted yesterday, again from a Spanish source. I am back to thinking that it is Ancelotti. No experience, but the profile is right for what we expect the new football department's way of functioning to be.
  24. Rolling the dice with a young inexperienced Heid Coach but the appointment makes much more sense than Gerrard.
  25. Build a sustainable business or the general trend will continue and isolated successes will come when they go through bad spells/transition.
