More fool you for believing such nonsense. McCoist has always put himself first, and that is not a criticism of the man. You were talking about honour. That should have nothing to do with money or love for an employer. Even if it did, I doubt that anyone employed at Ibrox has any love for those who employ them.

How would I know that? You have just admitted that you play mind games when posting, so what's real and what's not with you isn't at all clear.

Kinda sums you up. Although you attempt to talk a good game, you really don't have a scooby about what is realistic and what is staring many of us straight in the face.

Read this. http://www.therangersstandard.co.uk/index.php/articles/club-history/261-the-1947-battle-for-the-blue-room-and-its-consequences-today There are a few other stories detailing the goings-on.

Struth employed underhand tactics not too dissimilar to those used by Green, Ashley and co. in his own power grab, something that doesn't get aired as frequently as the above quote.

You originally stated that it was a realistic ambition to win the quadruple. In the sixty-six years that the treble has been available, it has been done ten times, seven of them by Rangers. That would say that even with the best of sides, it is realistic once in every ten years. There is a huge difference between an aim at the start of a season and what is realistically achievable by the end of it.

I don't think that there are many, if any, arguing for McCoist to be kept on as manager, so your rejigged quote is not particularly relevant here.

Etxeberria played one season for free because he wanted to reach the milestone of 500 games for Bilbao and he wasn't likely to be offered a new deal. An honourable act, but one with a tinge of 'self' about it. It is up to the person concerned whether he wishes to forgo his entitlements or not, but I do wonder how many Gersnet posters would choose to jack in their job in order to do the right thing by the company. I would say a ball park figure would be a little less than one.

Stop picking on him, Zappa. The treble wasn't a realistic ambition even at the height of our powers.

The moans are about the contracts handed out by the crooks in the boardroom. Honouring said contracts is something which would once have been automatic for The Rangers and is something which should continue.

Perhaps, but the crowds back then were still massive in comparison to the present day. If the Charles Green bullshit hadn't been lapped up by a gullible support, today's crises would have happened back then.

Rangers have played pish football for years, but you need to go back thirty years to see a mass exodus of fans on this scale. It isn't all about the boardroom side of things, but it needs to be sorted before the rest of the club can be improved.

There you go again, Rab. Life must be so simple in that dichotomous world that you reside in. When you are searching for that McCoist post of mine, dig out one where I am gagging to see Dave King at the helm. Just one will do.

But you see, it's not his beer, it's the beer of those above him.....and you were most vocal against those who stopped buying 'beer' from Green, Easdale and co. Don't you find that to be rather, how should we say, inconsistent?

There is insufficient money in the bank to take the club to January never mind May, so the immediate risk to our future is not what Mccoist and his team are doing on the pitch. Your post-McCoist world of lollipops and rainbows sounds just marvellous. Can we all come?
