You know what? I like the two attacking wingers; I like the position the #8s are taking up, and their runs in behind; and I'm excited by Tavernier's position, which is inside, like Alexander-Arnold. What's letting us down is the combination-play. As soon as we do the work and ping the ball into the wingers or #8s (Tavernier has done so a few times, along with Lundstram and Barisic), the ball goes backwards. We need to work on the next pass, once it gets into the wingers or #8s.

Damn! Missed the goal. Apparently it was a tap-in for Colak after Barisic's shot came off the post.

I agree with the frustration at two holding midfielders, but it's not as bad as it appears, because Jack can play as an #8, so it could be a 1-2 set-up in midfield. However, I would prefer a more attacking #8, like Tillman.

I've not seen enough of him, to be honest. He did well enough when he started the Old Firm game a couple of years ago. But he's not played since, so it appears he's not good enough - certainly not to start ahead of McGregor and McLaughlin. Now we're giving him a new deal, which suggests he's got something about him. So, is he good enough or not? (Or, is he just a permanent back-up? That would be a waste of the lad's career.)
