  1. There's supposedly 5 places open in this ESL for new sides, but it's not clear how they qualify - CL winners, Europa League winners?
  2. This European Super League (ESL) seems to be a replacement for the CL, for these elite sides. They still plan to remain in their domestic leagues. How would that affect the CL in terms of competition and appeal if you take those sides out of it? I reckon it's better, with more closely cintested games - although with Bayern and PSG still there it'll be between those two for the foreseeable.
  3. Nagelsmann is highly sought after, but I'm not sure he'll get the time he'd want. Flick is still at Bayern, but is thought to have told them he's leaving at the end of the season. Allegri is free. Eddie Howe? Will Tottenham be able to prize him away from the best team in scotland... ?
  4. NOOOOOO!!!! Seriously, I don't think that's on. Tottenham will be looking at some of the elite managers.
  5. Several clubs have now stood down from their ECA and UEFA roles. And, legal action in place to challenge any attempt to thwart the move. JP Morgan say they are funding the move.
  6. I wonder who Levy will go for? Who's free at the moment?
  7. According to SSN, Mourinho is sacked. I'm not surprised, to be honest. It was a mistake to appoint him to begin with.
  8. My first reaction was, 'this is disgusting... how do we get in?' ?
  9. Is it just me, or does it not sound as bad as it is being portrayed, at least from the initial reaction?
  10. What would the format be? The Super League website reads: "The Super League is a new European competition between 20 top clubs comprised of 15 founders and five annual qualifiers. There will be two groups of 10 clubs each, playing home and away fixtures within the group each year. "Following the group stage, eight clubs will qualify for a knockout tournament, playing home and away until the single-match Super League championship, in a dramatic four-week end to the season. "Games will be played midweek, and all clubs will remain in their domestic leagues." In their statement, the clubs themselves have outlined the format in three stages: - 20 participating clubs with 15 Founding Clubs and a qualifying mechanism for a further five teams to qualify annually based on achievements in the prior season. - Midweek fixtures with all participating clubs continuing to compete in their respective national leagues, preserving the traditional domestic match calendar which remains at the heart of the club game. - An August start with clubs participating in two groups of ten, playing home and away fixtures, with the top three in each group automatically qualifying for the quarter finals. Teams finishing fourth and fifth will then compete in a two-legged play-off for the remaining quarter-final positions. A two-leg knockout format will be used to reach the final at the end of May, which will be staged as a single fixture at a neutral venue. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12279788/european-super-league-the-key-questions-what-is-it-who-is-involved-how-likely
  11. St Johnstone 0 - 1 Rangers FGS Roofe
  12. Which clubs are involved? The Premier League's big-six clubs - Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham - are all involved. AC Milan, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur have all joined as 'Founding Clubs'. It is anticipated that a further three clubs will join ahead of the inaugural season, which, according to the clubs, 'is intended to commence as soon as practicable'. German giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are not included and nor are French champions Paris Saint-Germain. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12279788/european-super-league-the-key-questions-what-is-it-who-is-involved-how-likely I think the German clubs refused.
  13. Bugger... I was focusing on his first name: is it one 't', or two?
  14. How do we replace McGregor and Davis?
  15. I would expect Ofoborh to be a squad player next season; filling in, playing the odd game here and there -- a bit like Scott Wriht this season. It takes them a while to get up to speed. Ofoborh's a holding midfielder, but I don't know if he's creative at all, like Davis -- playing DM, but actually the creative hub--; or if perhaps he'll play one of the wider centre-midfield positions, like Aribo and Kamara do now?
  16. That must be your 5th attempt at spelling the lad's name, all different spellings each time. Nnamdi Ofoborh

  21. Barker's... alright. He's just not of the desired quality, for us, going forward. However, I was always of the opinion that, as long as he was our player, he had qualities, or a skill set (pace, dribbling, work-rate, pressing, covering) that we could utilise in certain games. It's nice to see him doing well.
  22. Most just miss out on some high scores, but... I. am. sh*ting. myself. Correct Result (1 pt): Everyone who entered. 23. We need to be better, but I'm not displeased with us just doing enough -- as long as we continue to do enough.
