  1. That's great but what about Hagi? Is he close to signing too? #PedanticLoyal
  2. Yeah, I do recall him [Dykes] being able to carry the ball very well -- especially against us! But, that was against us: space to run into on the counter! Looking at Dykes' goals, they're all on a plate. Okay--his positioning is good, but how much space will he get when there's 12 players ( ) around him? I see him as more of a striker, target man. I will concede I have not seen much of him, so his assists -- although the number s look good -- are unknown to me. Kamberi looks more versatile to me; more dynamic, can score all types of goals and looks like he's a good link-up player too. His form has been terrible this season, however, and a couple have mentioned his attitude. I was actually thinking a couple of days ago that there must be some decent forwards playing in Scotland just now we could move for. Dykes and Kamberi -- along with Cosgrove and Long -- were the names that initially came to mind.
  3. No, I only took League games. It's 8 goals in 27 if you want total goals. (I tend to skip Cup goals because it is against those types of opposition.)
  4. Yeah -- especially on current form. However, I would say Kamberi is more versatile and dynamic, and a much better link-up player. Dykes is very static when you look at his goals; they're put on a plate for him, whereas Kamberi has to do a lot of work.
  5. ... and moving Aribo back, for Hagi to play in the more advanced role.
  6. I'm intrigued by the forwards. They are quite similar in many ways (young, quick, tall, capable of running with the ball or in-behind, and also capable of playing in a couple of positions along the front line), so that must be the profile we're looking at -- it does remind me of Morelos, in a way. Kamberi is younger (23), with 3 goals in 20 league appearances. He's got 3 assists this year too. Dykes is one year older (24), with 8 goals in 18 league appearances. He has 6 assists this season. Neither are prolific, as Morelos was, but you would expect them to score more for us, if they are in any way successful. Clearly we're looking at younger players than are quick and physical, that can carry the ball, run in-behind and play in a number of positions.
  7. More good work from Wilson. That must be a decent wage cleared.
  8. Genk are having some fire sale! They've just sold a defender to Sheffield Utd for £22M. And a couple of days ago Aston Villa signed their striker Samatta for £10M. They sold about £50M worth of talent in the summer too. They're going to be loaded!
  9. We'd be signing him to keep Defoe company on the treatment table. That would be bad business. Outstanding player in his pomp, but too injury prone, for us.
  10. This has the feel of a Wilson signing.
  11. His wiki page says: "His father Gheorghe Hagi was a footballer." Did anyone know that?
  12. I can't speak for his quality, but he has the right profile: Young, creative #10, that can play anywhere along the front line. According to the article, there's a option to buy too after the loan, which is just good business sense. I was going to source some of the lads videos, to see how he plays, but I'll just watch some videos of Gheorghe Hagi's goals instead. Same thing.
  13. Adebayor is a free agent. Just saying.
  14. Rangers 2 - 1 Aberdeen FGS Morelos
  15. Some good scores, and a Yorkie regains the lead! Everyone who entered gained 1 point for the Correct Result. BD, compo, Moody, Dado, Yorkie and Franc gained 1 point for the Correct Number of Rangers Goals. r_s, T-1000 and TB gained 2 points for Defoe as FGS. BD, compo, Moody, Dado, Yorkie and Franc gained 3 points for the Correct Score. Latest Standings:
  16. Tweets from Rotherham fans say he [Hastie] was good for the first few games, then didn't really get a chance. They wish him well.
  17. I'm firmly in the 'Helander is better than Katic' camp. Katic is better in the air and is a goal-threat at set-pieces; Helander is better with his feet and better at reading the game - and it's not just booting it out: When Helander reads the game, we tend to keep possession, and start attacks; Katic just boots it out. I prefer the latter. I do love the guy [Katic]; there's a lot to admire in his passion and aggressive style. If he could combine that with better positional sense, and be able to play a pass, then he'd be some player. To be fair, he can still learn that.
  18. I don't know. I hoped someone would correct me. I bloody hope so...
  19. Reaction please, Rangers! Rangers 5 - 0 Ross County FGS Morelos (?)
  20. I read that Liverpool's throw-in coach has implemented a 5 second policy (they have to take the throw-in within 5 seconds of getting it, so opponents don't have a chance to set up). I noted yesterday we had players standing with the ball in their hands for ages waiting for something to happen. Hearts were set.
