I hear this a lot but seriously who wants to watch Valetta of Malta Vs Real Madrid in the European Cup? Better distribution of monies by having less places for the top leagues would be a better option IMO. Renaming the premier tournament would also help. Drop the champions league title and use something else.

I get that but there is no point comparing today's European football with 50 years ago. They are two completely different scenarios. Back then you could win the European Cup by getting a decent draw and effectively playing 9 matches. We've played 18 games in Europe this season. Back then the financial disparity between leagues was smaller compared to the chasm that exists between the top leagues and us today. Dunfermline getting to a euro semi final proved that.

Not enough contrast with Frankfurts black strip apparently

Just read that Frankfurt have been designated as the official home team for the final therefore there is no chance we will be wearing our traditional home kit. As our away kit is all black, it seems we will be wearing that lilac disaster or could we wearing our all white strip? Quite fitting as it's our 150 year anniversary

We need to find a balance between keeping the squad sharp and sensible rotation. If King, Lowry, Ramsey, Davis, Sands and the young Polish guy get game time tomorrow, I can't see that making a massive dent in our set up or chances of a victory.

Too early for a Europa Final thread to start...? First entry...As I didn't want to temp fate and look at details regarding the final venue, I have looked into this further now. I didn't realise the Stadium only held 43,000. This is poor for a show piece final IMO. Its also a different stadium from the ones the Tims played in for 2003. Despite the limited capacity, the positives are it's a tighter stadium without a large running track around it.

I think we have to remember he came in mid season and had to gain the trust of a bunch of players who had a very strong bond with the previous manager. There have been too many silly points dropped but let's not aim everything at Gio. In many games the players let themselves down with sitters and terrible defending. Either way, I've seen more than enough to want to see how he does with some of his own additions.
