  1. There is no doubt that our tweaks in defence has had an effect on our forward play. However, we have looked solid at the back rather than all over the place as previous seasons.
  2. More gossip - believe what you will Rangers winger Ryan Kent has told the Ibrox club that he wants to join Leeds United, according to 90min. It has been reported that Leeds are confident of striking a deal with Rangers over the transfer of Kent in the summer transfer window. -----------
  3. More rumours and gossip - Morelos has handed in an official transfer request and 2 senior players have approach Gerrard about Alfies attitude.
  4. Nor is there any evidence that there isn't one.
  5. It wasn't via Yorkshire Post, it was Glasgow Times who asked the question at Fridays Press Conference. Not asking him to discuss his contract but the way Gerrard danced around the question tells you there is s release clause. I'm not surprised as most players will have one in their contract. Leeds are doing nothing wrong, they bid £10M, we (rightly) knocked it back. Looks like they'll come back with an improved offer, which is their prerogative. Whether we accept is another stroy, but if Kent has a release clause, as soon as it's matched, we are out of control of the situation. We'll need to agree to disagree on this. For the record, I hope Kent stays and I believe that he will even if Leeds up there offer.
  6. Really? If no release clause then why not say so when asked if there was one? He danced the tango around the question for obvious reasons.
  7. https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/sport/football/leeds-united/steven-gerrard-makes-ryan-kent-admission-leeds-uniteds-pursuit-rangers-winger-2950425
  8. But SG specifically mentioned clauses in players contracts.
  9. Gerrard alluded to it in his press conference. Saying once an offer of a certain size comes in, it changes the dynamic off the bid / transfer. Most, if not all players will have a release in their contracts, just modern day football. Itten had one, we matched / offered it, he was free to talk to us and signed. Nothing his club could do about it. Same will happen if Leeds meet the figure in Kent's, it becomes a choice for the player to make and nothing we can do about it.
  10. Apparently there is a release clause in Kent's contact and again apparently £14M is very close to activating the release clause. It'll come down to the player and if he wants to move from being a big fish in a small pond with an opportunity to win trophies or if he wants to join the lower echelons of the EPL and a possible relegation dog-fight where he may not play every week (but he'll get paid "handsomely" for it). Big decision for the boy and we'll struggle to replace him and would seriously dent our ability to challenge this season.
  11. Don't think anyone is getting carried away, you can only beat what's in front of you. Are you aware of our recent record against Killie?
  12. Another well produced and presented offering today. Really setting an example of how football should be presented. Rae, Dodds and McCann are excellent and their insight and analysis is spot on. Once again CT and KT nailed the commentey. Throw in Sir Walter and you've gotten a 1st class product. We'll done to all involved - top class.
  13. A little montage of Clancyisms from today's game - looks like Davis may have been done out a goal? Didn't look over during the game but does in the slow-mo replay. No footage of the handball incident tho.
  14. Went for Kent over Barker as he scored (really composed finish). Also mentions for Borna (another assist), Roofe for his goal and Goldson / Helander for their defensive performance (Keeper should give them his win bonus to share between them ?)
  15. The manager also commented on small changes to formation so we are not as open to counter-attacks and losing stupid / silly goals. Game is not all about forward players, they require a platform to go and perform and the defence and defensive midfield players must take huge credit for this. Going forward, Itten looks like UK / Scottish type target man but who can play a bit, Roofe is getting his fitness and sharpness back and will be a constant threat for us. Kent looks likely to become the player we want him to be and Barker was a pleasant surprise today. Didn't realise he was only 23 - there is a player / talent in there, hopefully today is a turning point for him.
  16. Run of the mill 3 points - take that all day long.
  17. Kent and Barker stand outs today
  18. Crowd at Ibrox certainly getting behind the team today ?
  19. Been better since Itten moved up top
  20. Really? Their keepers brought of a great save from Kent, Kent unlucky with another chance, Helander should have done better with his header, Barker with decent effort from edge of box, Itten should have hit the target and maybe should have had a pen. Against Livi we didn't have a shot on target for 70+ minutes.
  21. Helander has to hit target there
  22. 2 hand balls and Clancy gives a goal kick ?
  23. Itten booked - Clancy wins sweep as to who'd be 1st to book him ?
