  1. NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO 3-5-2 isn't an option.... Cammy F
  2. So if we can't sell players like Papic, Murray, Svensson, Sionko, Sebo, Novo et al we won't be signing anyone. Smith and Murray have said that any incomings will have to be supplimented with sales. Looks like an even more furstrating close-season than normal then. Cammy D
  3. But Webster hasn't played competative football for a full season, Weir and UE are getting on, so any niggles are going to take longer to heal and they will miss games. Hendami was our most consistant performer last season, and behind Fergie, he is our best player, so why move him back to centre-half? This would have a negative effect on the midfield and the team IMO. We will have to move players on before we can sign players - we have a wage budget so 'fringe players' like Sionko, Svensson, Papic, Sebo etc (and even players like Novo) will have to be sold (paid off  ) to make way for any new signings. We have a limited budget and no matter who WS signs, we will have fans who will rightly say that he should have used the money on different players in different positions. He, thanks to SDM is in a 'no win' situation in the transfer market at the moment. Personally, I would use the SN money added to the money alreay offered for Ceullar to get him and use the remainder to buy David Healy from Leeds. IMO, that offers better value for money than losing Ceullar and getting SN. Cammy F
  4. So if Weir and UE get injured, you would be happy going into a CL qualifier with Svensson and Broadfoot as your centre-halves/...... jeez, that doesn't bear thinking about. All good and successful teams are built from the back - and thanks to downsizing and PLG's shite signings every position in the team at the moment is a priority. With Beasley and JCD signed, I think we are covered in the wide positions especially with Burke, Adam and Novo as back up. We need a left back, a centre forward (or two), a centre-half, a keeper, a creative midfield player and 4 decent squad players Cammy F
  5. We URGENTLY need a centre half - Weir and UE have been decent as stop gaps, but that is all they are. The Webster saga is destined to drag on and on and there are still question marks over his fitness and who he actually belongs to, not to mention where he'll be playing next season. Add to that he hasn't kicked a ball in earnest for close to a FULL SEASON. Svensson has had his chance and he isn't good enough at the moment and Papic will be shipped out - that leaves us with Weir and UE - plenty of experience there, but if they get injured, we are up shit creek. Broadfoot is untried and untested and it wouldn't be fair pinning our CL and SPL hopes on him if Weir and/or UE got injured. Centre-half is a PRIORITY IMO Cammy F
  6. David Leggat has Rangers getting Beckham on loan from LA in his column today - don't you just love close-season..... Cammy F

    Guilly

Just on SSN there that Guilly is available for £1.2M pounds and Craptic have made an approach. Not that I am expecting him to end up at either half of the OF, but a genuine quality player on the market for the same money as SN. Cammy F
  8. Mills and Fowler, any other ex-Leeds players we can sign for hee-haw Talking of Leeds, interesting to see what happens with David Healey - he can leave Leeds for £400,000 as they were relegated. Not the best scoring record domestically (where he has played in different positions and sat on the bench) but a phenominal record at international level. Does he make more financial sense than over £1M for Naismith? Cammy F
  9. Wouldn't mind our away top looking like this http://gallery.linfieldfc.com/displayimage.php?album=168&pos=4 Cammy F
  10. McGregor Hutton Weir New Centre Half New Left Back / Smith (depending on fitness) Hendami Fergie Thompson Beasley New Centre / Boyd Darcheville EDIT - and for me, the above has to be WORST case scenario, we need major cash and player injection this summer. Cammy F
  11. For what it is worth, IMO the Beasley deal has been completed and he is (rightly or wrongly) concentrating on the Gold Cup with the USA before being officially paraded as a Rangers player. The clubs have agreed a fee and we have agreed personal terms with the player. Celluer (sp) could also become a Rangers player next week if we make a bid of over £2M pounds for the player. Osusuna will accept an offer of over £2M and the player has already stated his desire to play for us. Naismyth is the most baffling deal - as far as I an led to believe, we are the only club who have put in a firm offer (in fact we have put in two firm offers). Killie are holding out for £1M plus add-ons, we have offered £750,00 plus add-ons which would take the fee to over £1M depending on appearences, Scotland caps etc. Killie hold all the aces, the player is under a long-term contract and as far as they believe, if no one matches their evaluation, the player will stay. Don't be surprised if SN is still a Killie player at the start of the season. If you remember WS first stint as Rangers manager, you will remember that most deals weren't made public until the player had actually signed. If and its a big if we are going about of business away from the prying eyes of the press, then that is a positive IMO. Cammy F
  12. But unfortunately, we are in a position that if we sold Fergie, any money made from the transfer would not be put back in to the team. Like all other recent transfer money, it'll find its way into SDM's back pocket. Cammy F
  13. That is what I, and I believe Gribz are getting at - the standard of player has dropped dramatically and most have bought the myth from Murray. I cannot believe that any Rangers fan is more impressed by Burke, Adam, Gow, Broadfoot etc than players like Peter Lovenkrands. Well done Mr Murray, you have sold the nightmare to the majotiry. Cammy F
  14. Lovenkrands excelled, as most players do, when he had decent players playing beside him. Watch the videos / dvds of his time at Rangers and players like Numan, Fergie, De Boer, Caneggia knew how to get the best out of Lovenkrands. Didn't help that AM thought of Lovenkrands as a left winger / left midfield player, something that he never was. Left in a front 3 (successfull there in AM's first season and a bit) or through the middle (AM's last CL campaign). As far as I am aware, I cannot remember PL being deployed thro the middle for any sustained period in the SPL. Cammy F
  15. and how he excelled in Europe when played thro the middle. Cammy F
  16. We'll get Inverness or Abergreen away Cammy F

    signing rumours

An 'update' from ET - http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/display.var.1464499.0.0.php Cammy F
  18. Was thro in Glasgow yesterday and witnessed two utterly bizzare incidents (Rangers and football related). Whilst walking up Sauchiehall Street (which was awash (sic)) with green and grey, a wee boy was called an 'orange barsteward' for wearing an Italian top with 8 Rino on the back Then, on returning to Queens Street Station two very drunk Rangers 'fans' who were sipping the Buckie were shouting 'Ef***ee' at passers by These are isolated incidents, but when witnessed reflect badly on the entire support and our nation as a whole. Cammy F
  19. Where I sit, we also have the pleasure of Rock Steady and The Police telling us to sit down every two minutes and informing us that no matter what we sing, it is sectarian and we face the intimidation of being ejected and banned from the stadium. We also have the pleasure of Rangers informing the press that 27 of our members were banned for sectarian singing, when in fact they were banned (at random - 3 weren't even at the game) for 'prolonged standing'. We also have the pleasure of our (thankfully ex) security officer telling anyone who would listen to him that our section caused him more problems that the visiting Tims, AFC and HIV casuals. Sometimes I do question why I actually go thro the same shit every season. Would any sane person pay for the above 'privilages'..? Cammy F
  20. and I am £418 for my each of my season tickets at Ibrox - real value for money there then Mr Murray Cammy F
  21. Watching those games last night really showed just how far behind we are in terms of ability. I will have to stop watching these leagues as it just depresses me ..... Oh, and I think (and hope) that Real will win the league. Cammy F

    signing rumours

Birmingham have lodged a £5M bid for Mido (thats us out the running then) today and C****C have placed a 'take it or leave it' £2M offer for Naismyth and Fowler from Killie (likely to be accepted). 2 more players we have lost out on, and I wonder, that if these deals go through (especially the Naismyth one) if it'll be the straw that finally breaks the Rangers support out of their continued and unwarranted support of SDM. Cammy F
  23. Just having a discussion on MSN with Delboy about this - this may sound contriversial, but I believe that Rangers today have too many supporters and not enough fans. By that, I mean there is not enough 'fans' who would be devistated if there was no 'Rangers'. Rangers to me, are more than a football team, they are a way of life. They are a social circle, they are the constant that binds so many different people together. I've met and befriended many people from different political, religous, culturial backgrounds just because of a common bond that is 'The Rangers'. Sadly, the powers that be, and a vast majority of our fans don't see Rangers that way. The board see Rangers as a business, the majority of the fans see Rangers as an excuse to get out of the house on a Saturday (or Sunday). I honestly don't know what I'd do if there wasn't a Rangers - it would be like losing a beloved family member. If anyone choses to believe that Rangers ceasing to be isn't imaginable, let me tell you that under SDM it is a desticnt possibility. Cammy F
  24. A vicious circle m8 - if we are 'silent' then the powers that be think (as they do now) that we are happy at downsizing, we are happy being cast as the villians (look at comments from Bain & McIntyre, they hardly help the situation). I was one of the few who attended a couple of demostrations and was branded a traitor, and worse a 'fen*** barsteward' by felllow 'fans'. Worse still, the RFC website branded the 'demostrators' as the scum of the earth and actually praised those who attacked the demonstrators - that'll be the 'fans' that kicked, punched, spat at and sang the banned song 'The Billy Boys' and called the protestors (sic) Fenia* Barstewards. Until the majority of us turn on him we can resign ourselves to being 2nd best (at best) and being attacked by UEFA, SFA and the media - NOTHING will change unless we make the changes - MURRAY HAS BEEN KILLING OUR CLUB FOR YEARS but not enough of us appear to be bothered. Cammy F
  25. Does the lack of response to this thread mirror the lack of 'fight' we see from the majority of Rangers 'fans' at this time? Have we resigned ourselves to the fact that we are the 'bad guys', whilst they are all happy go lucky jolly criacsters? A worrying development in my eyes - it appears that the majority of us are willing to sit back and watch our club die - we are a shambles off and on the pitch, we are unable to attract / sign decent players and we are potrayed as the devil whilst they are allowed to indulge in racism, sectarianism and celebration of child murdering bastards and we just shurg our shoulders and think that it all get better / even itself out in the mists of time.
