Maybe so, but those who did protest (tiny minority of our fan base) were sadly proven right in the long-term. History repeating itself...... -

I don't think the timing is odd at all. The Union Bears / Copland Collective have had numerous banners calling out the board, and stayed on at full-time on Sunday to call them out. The UBs do have a beef with the board and it's up to individuals to decide whether that's a legitimate beef or not. I think it's safe to say they'll have a presence at this demonstration and will be the vocal element. They are well within their rights, as are any other Rangers fans to make their frustrations with the board known - better outside the ground prior to the game than inside during.. Some fans will agree with them, some fans won't and some will be apathetic about the whole episode. -

He didn't win anything, but that's not what I said. He showed progress both domestically and in Europe and found a way to beat Celtic on a regular basis. He did get funds, he needed them, he inherited an absolute shit-show. Also, let's knock the feeling that Clement hasn't been backed financially on the head, he has. Clement started well, but has regressed at an alarming rate and currently the only argument I'm hearing for keeping him as it has worked when we sacked his predecessors.
-
Your putting words in my mouth. Read my post again then come back with reply. Clement has spent a fortune (in SPL terms) and has us regressing. We're slow, unfit, uninspiring. We need a manager who can change those negatives and get us playing a better brand of football, get the players hungry and fit. Will it be enough to win the league? Who knows, but it can't any worse than it is currently under Clement.
-
What's required, as a matter of urgency is getting a manager who can coach the 2nd most expensive squad in the league properly. A manager who can get them fit, hungry, playing fast, free flowing football and challenging for titles. It's not rocket science.

I may be one of those "chaps" - let me have a look. It's (as far as I'm aware) an Italian label. Take it up with them. -
Are you serious? He's spent a fortune (in SPL terms) and can't get a tune out of "his" players or the players he's inherited.

I really don't know - but as I said I'll go along to this and see what it's all about then I can decide if it's for me or not. Meeting a friend I've not seen for a while who's doing the same. Then we plan to skip the game and go get a bite to eat (not a lukewarm pie and bovril). -

This is following a familiar pattern, I remember the same dismissal of the protests against David Murray. -

If Clement was making strides (as Gerrard did) then I'd agree. However, all evidence points to us regressing and regressing rapidly. With the budget Clement has been given, there are no excuses for our performances, points tally and results. Rangers Football Club should not be "hoping' that Clement can change things for the better. The league has gone (in truth it was gone weeks ago, probably after our latest embarrassing defeat at Parkhead). If the only reason for keeping him is that sacking his predecessors didnt work, then we are in a sorry, sorry state.

Pragmatism is all well and good but there is no evidence that Clement can improve us. What happens of we keep Clement and are sitting 3rd in the league next November? Do we not replace then despite the league being over? We need a complete overhaul from top to bottom and hopefully Stewart is the start but who knows. However, there is no excuse for not replacing Clement now or we risk falling further behind.

Good luck to Patrick Stewart (he'll need it) and hopefully he gets the scope, support and encouragement (and has the balls to take on the board when / where required) to quickly redress the years of boardroom neglect. If he doesn't it's a pointless appointment. His CV is decent, but as @Frankiesays, he's left one basket case of a club and joined another. Hopefully has a lot of contacts within the game and wish him well.
