I want a club that is well run, financial stable and challenges for titles domestically and holds its own in Europe. That isn't unrealistic. I said above, but you've skipped over it, I've waited over a decade for this to happen. That's not impatient. How long do you think os acceptable to wait? I've also said this, and you've skipped over it. The current board is to blame for our current financial plight due to make continuing horrendous decisions. Why should we trust them to suddenly start making the correct decisions? Finally - if a manager can't coach an expensively assembled squad of highly paid players to be competitive, they need to be moved on (not given an extended contract). Last 17 games in all competitions - 48% win rate. His time is up.

You still haven't told me what I'm being unrealistic or impatient about. You've bought the party line.

Set phasers to "sack Clement" 😀 -
You still haven't told me what I'm being impatient about and what are my unrealistic expectations? We've waited 14 years for the board (and previous boards) to come up with a long term fix, they've continued to show they are incapable of this. How much longer are you suggesting we wait for? Another decade and a half?

Anyone who didn't vote for Cerny should be banned from voting in next MOTM thread. 😀

I've had it with Clement. I won't be at another Rangers game with him in charge. This sums it up perfectly for me. -
I just don't see how we'll be able to have a serious tilt next season. What will have changed? We won't have much money for new players, you want to stick with a manager who doesn't have a style of play or who doesn't know his best 11. You are correct that the issues are much deeper but in his 12 months in the role, Clement has overseen a drastic regression in our results and performances. We'll be sitting here saying the same on the eve of them winning 10-in-a-row if we don't address those "underlying" issues - I.e the board.
-
I'd argue the football under Clement is worse than under Beale and Gio, bordering on Pedro and Warburton. 7 goals in the last 5 home games. 17 league goals all season. 3rd in the league. Even cutting wages we should still be competitive in the SPL. Are we to believe that in 12 months time our books will be in order? How many more titles do we give up? Who are we selling at a profit? Diomande? Cortes? Igamane? Propper? Bajrami? This is Rangers Football Club, so, this was Rangers Football Club a pale shadow of the proud institution it used to be.

Correct, but 1 in 9 isn't much better and point stands. However, I'd like to know as a Rangers fan what unrealistic expectations I have and what I'm impatient about.

Due to the late kick-off yesterday, I went for a pie and bovril at half-time. Both were "lukewarm" (at best) and set me back £8.15 -

In hindsight, I'd agree with this. I'd also say he didn't get the credit he deserved for getting us to the EL final. When you look at the teams we defeated to get there, it was an absolute incredible achievement. I'd say that even some Rangers fans play this down for some reason. Maybe it's because we lost to the "weakest" team we faced in the later stages of the competition. We should have won the EL - if we had a fit striker (either Roofe or Morelos), we'd have won it IMO. -
It really isn't. Is it unrealistic to expect Rangers Football Club to have won more than 1 title in 14 years? If it is, I'm supporting the wrong club. What have the fans been impatient about? The fans have backed the board (season ticket sales, top end European ticket prices, merchandise etc) season after season. Was it fans being unrealistic and impatient that "forced" the board to spend £12M on a vanity project called NEH? Is it the fans fault (impatient and unrealistic) that the board pay higher wages than Celtic? Did the fans squander £50M received on transfer fees? Do the fans continue to force the board to spend more than they generate? That's all on the board and absolutely nothing to do with the fans.

They might not be - I see Leicester have just sacked Cooper, so I'd add him to the list! We need a manager to identify a style that compliments the limited resources we have and make us difficult to beat. -

I've taken 23 games - more than 1/2 a season, not 5. If you are happy with Clement and how we are playing fine, but some fans are rightly sick to the back teeth watching the same dross week in week out. It doesn't seem to matter what 11 he selects we are a terrible football team. No style, no pace, no imagination, no fight, nothing. We are playing the worst football since returning to the top flight, the results are mirroring this. That's all down to the manager. We / he talks about rebuild - its 2 years since we got to EL Final and only 1 of that starting 11 is in our current squad. We've had our rebuild - it's failed. If Gio and Beale deserved the sack, why doesn't Clement? -
Nothing like that at all. We have (had) money but the board have squandered it all with continued mismanagement. The board got us into this mess - full stop.
-
Stay - Butland, Jefte, Souttar, Barron, Raskin, Cerny (if we can make it work), Bajrami not many more in my opinion. NB - the above only stay if we can getter better players in and around them. NB 2 - over last 3 managers, our best players have been players we've loaned and had no.chance of keeping - Tillman, Sima and now Cerny.

Yes, he spent £1.2M on a player who hadn't kicked a ball. His choice.
