  1. Not sure about that it was Walter that hand picked Ally McCoist. I may even say Walter wouldn't know a good manager if he hit him on the head.
  2. Only for a 3 year period. After 3years the club should be able to run itself financially. The cost of a scouting and youth system will put the costs up. Plus he wants to bring in players at a level to compete with Celtic next season.
  3. Ally McCoist the sequel!!!! Super Ally returns to revenge his doubters, Now in a football stadium near you!
  4. Otman Bakkal was always a reasonable player.
  5. As I can speak and read Dutch I never even thought about that. It would of course be easier indeed
  6. Even the best manager in the world began with zero. Plus the fact a manager can be fantastic at one club and a flop at another so no manager comes with a guarantee of success. Even Ally could become a great manager at his next club.
  7. This is a Dutch website and I don't know how accurate it is but don't shoot the messenger. The columns are age, Date without a club and their market value. http://www.transfermarkt.nl/statistik/vertragslosespieler
  8. I know I have been hard on Warburton but we really need to give any new manager a chance whoever it is. To say I won't give Rangers my support because xxxx is manager actually says more about the person than the manager I am afraid. You can't hang a man before he has committed a crime.
  9. I suppose it depends on the product on the park although there will be fans that just can't afford one

  11. This would seem to go more with Murray's statement that they will be doing interviews this week.

  13. Different! Vuckic was one of 11 players but a manager is the one person that picks the team. I do however agree statistics can be translated in many ways. If it is Warburton he will have my support but he doesn't excite me at this moment.
  14. No I have never seen Brentford play. I hope you are right and I eat my words but as I say he has only been a manager for a year and a half and managed 78 games. I hope he improves on his 52% wins as I doubt that will be enough to win the championship. I know that is a bullshit remark.
  15. He has a 52.6% win rate. A 19.2% draw rate and a 28.2 lose rate. He has been a full trainer for 1.55 years at Brentford. Sorry but I had hoped for more from a Rangers manager.
  16. Will that make his record better?
  17. Totally no idea what strong foundation Warburton offers. Getting Brentford to a play-off. I am afraid my proverb is nearer the mark.

  19. He took the chance to do a double bluff to win the kitty. Unfortunately he got it wrong. The person McCall is a top guy but he made too many blunders to be considered for the full time job. It is a pity as I like McCall as a person.
  20. I seem to remember, and my memory isn't that great, we went from punt it McKinnon to Colin don't rip your tights Jackson. Jackson was far more of footballing CH but because of his long black hair and model looks, plus not being the typical slug it out CH he was considered a bit of a softy. His partnership with big Tam Forsyth sort of balanced out each others weaknesses. Great memories of big Col. RIP
  21. So was Kenny McDowell before he came to us. I have no idea why you have to employ 2 people when taking on a new manager. If we want Warburton we have to take Weir! I am afraid I am old school in that I will decide who I employ.
  22. It was Clément I got mixed up with. He went on to play for PSG and St Étienne so he probably was better than he let see with us.
  23. Okay sorreeee. To be honest my memory has a 5 minute expiry date.
  24. Report: Rangers 'hold talks' over appointing highly-rated Ian Cathro as manager Rangers have reportedly held talks with Valencia coach Ian Cathro over becoming their new manager. According to The Sun, Rangers have held talks with Valencia coach Ian Cathro this week over becoming the new manager at Ibrox. Rangers lost 6-1 on aggregate to Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership play-off final last month, meaning they must now spend at least one more season in the Scottish Championship. Manager Stuart McCall could now lose his job - despite only arriving in March. The 50-year-old was only handed a contract until the end of the season, with Rangers hoping he would win them promotion through the play-offs. Having failed, McCall now faces the possibility of being replaced, with a host of managers now linked with the job - and The Sun believe talks have already been held with Valencia coach Cathro over becoming the new manager at Ibrox this summer. Cathro, 28, has a remarkable back story which has seen him rise as a coach at such a young age, and is now assisting Portuguese manager Nuno at Valencia having worked together previously at Rio Ave. Cathro is only young but will no doubt fancy managing on his own at some stage - and Rangers want that to be immediately having allegedly opened negotiations with Cathro this week. Given Cathro's youth in terms of coaching, some may see this move as a shock but the former Dundee United coach has such a growing reputation that Rangers may think they can land their manager for now and the future by hiring Cathro.
