  1. One of my school mates survived the disaster with his only loss being a shoe but I will never forget him telling me how he could feel the bodies under his feet. At one point his foot got stuck but the pressure kept pushing him forward. It was his luck that his shoe did come off otherwise he would have been pushed under.
  2. Thanks Zappa I forgot the whole site had been changed. I am no expert but could they not just have transferred all the information on block to the new site?
  3. Is he the same player he was first time around?
  4. When looking for some information on another league season as I am sure I have done in the past, to my astonishment when using the "Pick another season" option, only 2011-12 and 2012-13 are available. As I say I am sure I used to look up all the seasons in our history there, so why has it been changed? http://www.rangers.co.uk/match/league-table
  5. A very happy new year to everyone. I wish good health to everyone as there is no point in having wealth without the health to enjoy it.
  6. I won't argue with you on that as you were one of the few who saw the SDM problem years before everything went tits up.
  7. I actually used to support all Scottish teams in Europe including Celtic but those days are gone. Hate is a big word and really an emotion I don't want to have as it is a bigger punishment for yourself as the person who you hate. Celtic just mean nothing to me.
  8. Another excellent post and I can only agree with whole heartedly. It was like everybody having a punch until we were on our knees and then Whyte delivering a lethal kick to our balls to finish us off.
  9. Absolutely fantastic debating guys. That really is what makes the Gersnet a class apart.
  10. A scout is a young man who lives by a code, To protect his honor, and take the high road, He faces temptation, but doesn't give in, The scout law gives him the foundation to win. A scout is trustworthy, he's loyal, true blue, Helpful, friendly, courteous to me and to you Kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty every cent, A scout is brave, clean, and reverent. A scout is trustworthy, faithful to the end, In keeping his promises, you can depend, He's loyal to family, school, and to friends, And to our great nation that he defends. A scout is helpful to all those in need, Reward he seeks not, it is just a good deed, He's friendly to people, all races and creeds, A trait that he knows that the world sorely needs. A scout is courteous, says "please" and "thank you", It's something he learned as a child to do, He is also kind, he's not spiteful or snide, It's strong to be gentle, he knows deep inside. A scout is obedient of rules that are there, And works from within to change those deemed unfair, He's cheerful, he smiles, looks for the bright side, And helps dry the tears of others who've cried. A scout is thrifty, of his goods he takes care, And protects the world, and the things God put there, He's brave, but not foolish, does not pick a fight, But always defends what he knows to be right. A scout is clean in thought, word, and deed, Helps others to learn and to share these beliefs, He is always reverent of our God above, Reaches out to others to share His great love. On my honor I will do my best, To God and my country, to face every test, To obey the Scout Law, help others always, Be strong, and be wise, and morally straight. A scout is a young man who's lived and who's dared, To always help others, and to be prepared, Come join the adventure, like others who knew, A good turn done daily, the world does renew. Scouting makes the future a bright thing to view!
  11. Would Aluko drop down to the second tier of Scottish football? I doubt it.
  12. I doubt Peralta would have been scouted I would imagine it was a video film sent from his agent to an agent connected to Rangers. Rangers view the film and then go and watch him.
  13. To be honest I wish Green had done more to find out about us joining the English league instead of accepting to be a substandard Scottish product without any say on TV rights or anything else. I realise he had to act quick to please his investors but I am sure he could have done more. We have to get back into the SPL or whatever it is called to get back into Europe but otherwise I would say: Stuff You!
  14. Agreed, it was my first OF game and thankfully I was only allowed to go because I could use my uncles season ticket for the main stand. I made that walk with my father many times and it really was frightening for at least a young boy. My father always told me to keep my arms crossed in front of my chest. You were just carried along trying to make sure your feet were on the ground. Regularly there were shouts to stop people at the top entering so as the pressure could be eased. Thinking back now it always was just an accident waiting to happen. God bless all of them.
  15. Jim Jefferies hopes for big crowd when Rangers come calling 28 December 2013 12.24pm. Dunfermline boss Jim Jefferies hopes the club’s supporters will turn out in their droves on Monday night when Rangers come calling in the league. Sky Sports coverage necessitated a date change for Dunfermline’s match with the Ibrox giants but Jefferies believes the slight deviation from the norm should not be a factor as they prepare to do battle with the league leaders. “We would have liked it to be on a Saturday but TV has made it a Monday,” he said. “It’s not ideal but I think a lot of people will be off with it being Christmas and New Year. “It’s not too bad and it’s not as if it was through the season. “Friday night games at Ibrox have been popular with supporters and I think it’s all because people are not working the next day, whereas on a Monday they normally are working the next day, so you can understand that. “So hopefully, we’ll get a good crowd and it’s a good game for everybody to look forward to.” Rangers lost their 100% league record on Boxing Day as Stranraer struck a late equaliser at Ibrox, meaning Ally McCoist’s men remarkably dropped points for the first time this season. However, Dunfermline have been in decent form of late and will fancy their chances of eating into Rangers’ 11-point lead. The Pars gave as good as they got when the teams last met in November, with all the goals in Rangers’ 3-1 victory coming in the last 20 minutes of a bruising encounter. Jefferies is expecting a similarly fierce contest when the teams line up on Monday night. “I thought we put on a good performance at Ibrox when we played them last and 3-1 was a bit harsh on us I felt,” he said. Home tickets are available but away tickets have sold out.
  16. Dunfermline- The Height of Hypocrisy By Stephstar For any bear attending this match I hope the words of John Yorkston rings deafening in their ears! 2nd June 2012 – source: Daylate Rhebel. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/dunfermline-chief-john-yorkston-rangers-1128190 DUNFERMLINE chief John Yorkston says the SFA have no choice but to boot Rangers out of the game because a Scottish Cup ban is too soft. The Pars chairman saw his club kicked out of the cup in 2010 for clerical mistakes that saw them field the suspended Calum Woods as a sub in a 7-1 win over Stenhousemuir. They are far from the only ones with Spartans, Brechin City and East Stirling all having been expelled from the competition for fielding ineligible players through honest mistakes. So Yorkston insists it would be ludicrous to deal Rangers the same punishment for dodging taxes and putting the nation’s football future in jeopardy by pursuing the SFA through civil courts., So 19 months later… we have seen Dunfermline enter administration (without punishment) and exit via ZERO pence in the pounds CVA, while openly gloating that each and every Rangers game this season will take them one step closer to profitability. Of course no one wants to mention the £134K tax bill they walked away from do they! Never mind the £12 Million in debts to organisations such as the Red Cross/NHS Fife (£2 Million +) or even the £1200+ currently owed to Rangers OldCo’s creditors after all they got their ZERO pence CVA, so that makes it okay doesn’t it! I’ll bet they throw the red carpet out for the current board, while reducing the attendance by over 7000 just as they did for the last match they played Rangers in the SPhell. I doubt if hector will worry about the lost revenues after all. So any rangers fan who does attend Monday’s match can go home happy that no matter what the result at East End Park, they’ve proven that it’s profitable to be lying cheating scum (as long as you are kicking Rangers).
  17. I was reading an article in one of the papers over the boxing day games and they couldn't help mention that Rangers also were playing against teams from the lower leagues. I think it was the Rhecord.
  18. Your sarcasm has a slight favour of truth funnily enough. Unfortunately I don't think we can even afford Mrs van Gaal at the moment. Some may say she would be an improvement on Ally, right enough. I never wanted Ally from the very beginning as I just don't think has ever been good enough for such a huge club. I think he should have managed a small team first to learn the trade. I also find it difficult to think of 1 club legend that has turned into a great manager for the club, and that is all clubs and not just Rangers. I do agree however losing the place for 1 draw is just looking for an excuse to have a hate Ally Party. Person-Ally:facepalm: I think the time to judge him will be over the next 2 seasons to be honest. Although I have a slight feeling after his voting rights at the AGM the board will be looking for a reason, and indeed fan opinion, to sack him.
  19. True! Misread it, apologies.
  20. Saying Rangers have only had 3 scouts is bending the truth a bit.
  21. Why should Rangers keep him employed for that? He will be under oath whether he is employed or not. Can you sack someone for not playing whistle-blower? That is one hell of a decision to make if you are trying to feed your family. I am not so sure he is a bad person for not making that decision.
  22. Merry Christmas! Fröhliche Weihnachten! Vrolijk Kerstfeest! All the best guy's and Gals on the best wee Gers forum around. And indeed to all Bears. We are the People!!!
  23. Unfortunately there are many things based on what you earned in past years. My alimony to my ex-wife was based on years that I worked 12 hour shifts to give her a good life and then paid the penalty because I did it in the years thereafter. That is obviously nothing to do with this situation.
