We played (most of) the second half like we should have played the first. With two major matches imminent, one might think that the strategy would have been to finish the match early, and coast in command and control for the second period, using all your available subs. Maybe I am missing something.

I have wondered, on a few occasions, whether GvB & Co look upon this season as a 'free hit', one on which they may not be judged. They took over, mid-term, a team which was not playing to its full potential, and have had only a Jan window in which to operate. The results in Europe have been, at the least, acceptable, those domestically, not, and by a very long way. The question is, of course, if we end up potless, not a proposition I should bet against, is GvB to be entrusted with building his own side?
