"That's a tough one, I'm not sure many people in any walk of life would take a 25% cut in their wages - never mind 75%!!! " Who said I was condemning you? What's with the melodrama. You're normally a sound and rational guy, one of the better posters on here. This comment is unlike you. To clarify, because I am not condemning you - I was merely pointing out that because the players had themselves proposed the wage cut, then saying that you were uncertain anyone in any walk of life would ever take a 25% cut (as if the administrators themselves had attempted to impose this wage reduction on the players) missed the point. It was the idea of the players, not the administrators. So it's not really a tough one. Unless, I have missed your point perhaps that you are in fact praising them for taking this wage cut when others would not. If so, fair enough.

Back on topic though, basically the admin are being left to consider this overnight, and if it fits in and helps the cuts they're trying to make, I guess it's outstanding news. Problem is though we need to save a million a month. In total guesswork, I'd say our wage bill is £350k a week. That's probably higher than what it actually is. Anyway, point is it being reduced by a massive amount doesn't help much with the remaining 700k or whatever is left. These wage reductions will not be the solution, just a possible modest saving.

It surprised me too given the hype about McGregor being our most highly paid player. But I also heard, again, I can't recall from where, that Papac is staggeringly on £20k a week.
-
Can't remember tbh.

She's a 7 or 8 at the most. Vicky Gomersall is the hottest SSN chick.
-
Heard that's Davis' wage. Top paid player.
-
You're not following - the players themselves have suggested. They've not been asked to accept it. And call me a cynical shite if you will, and as great a gesture as it is to keep the club afloat, these guys are millionaires in the most part - going from £30,000 a week to £7k might be a massive drop, but it's still a terrific wage in this day and age!

SSN presenter Hayley McQueen tweeted this: "The Rangers players have agreed 2 take paycuts 2 avoid redundancies at the club Highest earners 75% cut, mid 50% & lowest 25% details on SSN We'll keep you up to date on Rangers after players proposed paycuts backed by Scottish PFA, it's still however 2 b agreed by administrators" Basically if it fits in with the financial structure the admin are looking for, then we will be keeping our entire squad.

The announcements will never happen at this rate.

Even this nonsense is ridiculous because the SFA know the SPL will collapse without Rangers. That all said, if we have been breaking the law or SFA rules, it is worthy of punishment. But I agree on the witch hunt notion because if we have, I'll bet other clubs have too.

After yesterday's bile, it appears we can't.

Well, that was kinda the point I was just posturing on 4 possible outcomes. Kind of like a compilation of everything that's been reported and said, streamlined into 4 directions we could go. -
Where, finally, 5 days on from when we expected it, it appears the squad will officially be culled and we will lose a lot of players. How are you feeling about it? I'm a combination of nerves and expectancy. I'm nervous at the quality of player we could lose, but the inevitability of this happening has been there for weeks now. I really hope we are not left with a mediocre squad, no better than the majority of SPL sides. But it is a possibility.

Paul McBride found dead in a Pakistan hotel room

I've been watching the reaction online to this today, and for all the wonderful work the Rangers family have done since we went into administration, and showed up in numbers in our last 2 home matches, for all the plaudits that deserved and how we've all come together in the face of adversity - this is showing up a huge chunk of those same fans for what they really are, and I'm crushingly disappointed in them. My criticism is not really with those who are indifferent to this, I can't really blame them. There is no reason to desperately miss the man and 'grief tourism' is highly unwelcome here as it was with Whitney Houston. But those who are throwing confetti in the air over this and are genuinely pleased he is dead are a disgrace to the support imo - and they are acting exactly like those who I previously considered lower than them over on the likes of Kerrydale St. There are a sizable portion of our supporters who should be utterly ashamed of themselves - but aren't - they're happier to celebrate death. -

So do I Frank. You know that. You've unfollowed me because I said revelling in this guy's death is even worse. -

RM have a thread which is one third RIP and sympathy to his family, and two thirds of dancing over the guy's grave. While moderators are trying to avoid the 'mhedia' having a field day with the latter group's comments. Some supporters really don't understand death and grief. When did Rangers fans develop a sizable portion of such unpleasant characters? -

Wow, did you really just unfollow me because I suggested dancing over McBride's grave was worse than the grief tourism you were despising so much? -

I'm seeing a combination of dignified comments from our supporters, while a massive chunk are celebrating this news. VB are in particularly high spirits about it. Quite frankly some of the reactions remind me of KDS, and how tims usually act when a Rangers man dies. Pretty depressing that so many among our fans have sunk to that level. -

I can't see how this is to be danced around in any way. He leaves behind a family, just like anyone else. And they get my sympathy. I didn't like him as a man and I have nothing particularly positive to say about his life, but that doesn't mean I am in any way joyous at his death. -
I suspect reasonable debate will fall on deaf ears in this instance.

You're saying Ally's shown no leadership off the park? Are you actually blind? You're saying he's not defending us? I think you're literally seeing something else to what I'm witnessing.
