I've already said, this scheme will make 500k to one million tops. Even that was an optimistic estimate. People do not put their money where their mouth is. And Cal, before you come wading in, shurrup.
-
Haven't heard much criticism of them I have to say. I've actually appreciated them keeping us so well informed of what's happening.
-
Brian Kennedy - i'm a wee bit confused!
Danny replied to A Horse With No Name's topic in Rangers Chat
If Kennedy is only doing this to keep us in existence and not because he actually wants to run and own us long term, then I don't really want him either tbh. Maybe I'm living in cuckoo land but I want an owner/owners who want to be there, long term, and are willing to invest and run us properly. -
Have to say that wasn't available a month or so ago.

I won't listen.

If the club was say 10M away from liquidation, I think it more likely people would want to donate whatever it took to stop that happening. If they're willing to pledge it for a share issue, I'd disagree that the closer to annihilation the club are, the less likely to donate people would be. I know what a share is! But you've missed the point. Or seem obsessed with mulling over fictional share issues v donations. And that's what it was - a fictional share issue which presented itself as what Craig and I have been describing. Craig Whyte wasn't rich...SDM was, but I'd hardly say he messed around with supporters' money. Mismanaged the club in ways, yes, but I wouldn't say he abused supporter cash. No, I didn't even know they were involved when I heard about the scheme. I was completely against it from the start. When I heard Dingwall was involved as well, it hardly changed my mind! Told you lot before, polls are fucking useless. They have no value. I'm not one of these wide eyed idealists who pretended they had one spare grand to burn on that site. Isn't...that...exactly what I said?

I don't think we need to. He has as much power over Rangers as I do right now.
-
I think Whyte's period at Ibrox is over. He'll fade out the scene altogether soon and will, in a month or two become 'whatever happened to...' etc.
-
Really quite an astounding error to make. And that typo just sums it up. The scheme is honourable, and worthy of donation, but that kind of mistake highlights the shambolic nature of the club in recent years.
-
I won't My quarrel is not with you personally, so while you feel the need to defend the RST at every turn, it will fall on deaf ears with many around here, myself especially.
-
Unless someone has that address already, anything donated to that account will simply end up nowhere. It only becomes genuine cash once the recipient withdraws it. But thank you for this post, I checked Paypal and it is 'unclaimed' so I've cancelled that and will donate instead to the correct address. That mistake was bloody amateur.

Honestly I don't want the Blue Knights anywhere near the club. I don't trust the old guard to return and run the club properly this time.
-
One other thing, while Cal may have a point about saverangers being a theoretical share investment issue, the name of the website doesn't reflect that. It quite simply suggests an invitation to donate money to save the club from extinction. It may actually be about shares, but I bet a lot of those theoretical pledges were purely on the idea of giving money to keep the club afloat. 'rebuilding-rangers' would have been a more accurate site name.

My wording may not have been impeccable on this occasion. I am completely against saverangers. It's a total nonsense and always was. Anyone can run a website to gain 'market research' but it's tot to expect action based on the supposed intention. And RST are always prime target for an attack, given how poorly run they are.
-
Because guys like Whitehouse and Clark will know the various permutations, as will bidders. If there are say 4 possible scenarios, you draft up a plan for each. It is guesswork, but if we were specifically waiting for outcomes to be confirmed, we could be waiting forever.
-
Well at least you have the support of plgsarmy Cal
-
I disagree SaveRangers was striving to achieve anything other than whimsical market research and publicity for those behind it.
-
Why not? If they're 'willing' to put a grand into the club to ensure its future, it seems curious that they're unwilling to put a grand in to ensure its survival. Don't you think? I never pretended I'd put money in on that scale to a fictitious scheme. I was quite outspoken against it. But I am happy to put my money in to a real cause officially supported by the club. And have done.
-
How does monopoly money benefit the club's future? I'll rubbish tripe attempts at publicity if I like.
-
Correct. I can't see a single criticism of this scheme to be perfectly honest. We're helping with the running costs. Oh now, according to 'saverangers' we'll make at least 9M from this...aye, right. If we can get around 500k to a million through this, I'd say that's decent going. My best guess is you don't need the outcome to be able to negotiate. I imagine bidders will envisage more than one scenario and discuss them with HMRC. And see if the solutions they have for these scenarios are acceptable.
-
They've not stated it officially, but the fact they've discussed how we require to save a million a month from a shortfall of around...was it 4.3M? This forces the conclusion we'll be in admin till summer - June. Maybe beyond. Unless, of course, we find a buyer before then. Whyte doesn't fit in - if he's not a secure creditor then his relationship with the club is dead and buried. No idea when they'll publish their report. Kerr is part of this RFFF as you know. I don't really know how he can get all the answers we need. Not until we're out of admin. With admin, it's ongoing - we can get conjecture, like Whitehouse saying we don't know the fate of the 3.6M but we can't rely on it. But we can't get solid answers until loose ends are tied up and we know where we are.
-
PS: paid. I couldn't be arsed with the SaveRangers shite, but this I like. And I'm happy to help. Can't afford a fortune, but sent what I could.
-
That really would be good.
-
SSN just showed footage of him in London. They said he was going to meet admin but quite honestly I think they were guessing.

Question is will those who pledged hundreds to 'saverangers' put their money where their mouth is and donate to this? 9M was 'pledged'.
