Have to admit I was certain Michael had played in Euro 92! Ah well, with all the facts and figures I was researching, I was bound to get one wee detail wrong

Ibrox Noise: The Growing Relationship Between the Rossoneri and Rangers. Something slightly different and shamefully self indulgent from me, but I thought it was worth a discussion in light of the upcoming match. Feedback and comments appreciated

It's more believable than him being a Rangers supporter in this for the good of the club anyway!

I'd pay good money to watch that tbh.

Leo Messi, one goal away from César's record
Danny replied to 54andcounting's topic in General Football Chat
Ha, and therein lies the problem with Messi. A strong case for one of the all time best, up there with Maradona and Pele, but the difference is, like you say, he's not been able to recreate that astonishing form for Argentina. Despite them having a bloody strong team. Many say it's because the Barca system lets him thrive - and that C Ron would also be sensational in the same system. And the Argie one does not fit him in as effectively. -
Somewhat concerned about possible foreign ownership...
Danny replied to Max Rebo's Big Blue Nose's topic in Rangers Chat
I would prefer if our owners weren't Rangers men, and simply invested money, ran us well, and became 'adopted' fans as a result. I do not want people whose hearts rule their heads. I don't want us to follow any more 'dreams'. I just want sensible ownership and one which sees us thrive. -
Bollocks, I misread this - Sky News, not Sky Sports News. I was wondering where the hell it was.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon upset by cup final penalty denial
Danny replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
Looked a dive to me. -
When Celtic managers like Lennon call a refereeing decision 'criminal', it just makes me even more glad I'm not one of 'them'.

I'd agree he's probably playing on past his bedtime a little, but his goal in Inverness plus his utility roles at this perilous time in the club's history mean he still has something to give. I used to berate his ability at times myself, but I never lost sight, same as you, of the fact that he's produced the goods on many occasions in the past. He'll never be a total fan favourite, never was, but you cannot take away his offer to play for free, nor his non-complaining attitude. How many players can you name who are happy being shifted around the team all the time. The only position he's not taken up is keeper. No, I'm no Lee McCulloch fanboy, but his recent gestures as well as the good he's done in the past means I really don't have too many bad words to say about him.
-
Yeah, because I always conform with common opinion around here haha I'm the one who got it in the neck recently for calling Aluko's dive what it was, and got quite a few barrels in my direction in the RFFF thread. You make me laugh CG. You're right, I don't know you - all I can go on are the posts you've been making recently. And some of your comments are disappointing and unfair.
-
You didn't say that. You didn't say that either. No, "he can't put his feet or head in the right place as well" is you having a go at Lee without reference to saying 'he's past his best'. Am I still talking pish? None of us are saying McCulloch has been a stunning player, but the abuse you two were giving him is utterly unfair. I expect that crap from Cumbernauld tbh, but you're normally more reasonable than this Allan. The above post you've made is maybe a little fairer, but you've utterly shifted the goalposts.
-
And there was me thinking 'being like them' was more akin to having venomous attacks at one of our own players. How wrong was I...
-
I find it hard to do so given so many disagreed with me. And now here we go, my point is proven.
-
Some views stagger me. I've said my piece and I'll not continue.
-
This is exactly what I meant when I said if a tim had done what Aluko did, we'd call him a cheat. I'm not as thrilled about this as others - it pains me to think how a full strength Rangers could have owned this season completely. Celtic are quite shite. But yes, the lack of a treble is a bonus.
-
'A total disaster'? I literally can't believe I'm reading this.
-
Again, this is absurd. I'm not saying he's Maradona but he is a lot better than the 2 left feet guy you're portraying him as.
-
A bit of a ridiculous comment to come out with. Ok, he's not Messi, but to literally state that 18-times capped, former Wigan player Lee McCulloch (6 years EPL experience with 224 appearances and 44 goals) who cost us £2.75M and has played 107 times for us is 'not a footballer' is plain obtuse. You could suggest you don't rate his ability on some level, that would be a bit more fair - like me doing likewise with Bedoya - who has been agony for us - but McCulloch has not been. He has more than done a job and his integrity in recent times has been impeccable - offering to play for free was an outstanding gesture.
-
There's no part of me that denies he was also thinking about himself. But the fact is he waved money he was entitled to. And no matter what, that deserves credit and also saves jobs.
-
Well he didn't just not take a wage cut, he wavered his March wage completely and rejected a payoff. Saved dozens of jobs in doing so. Yes, a real malevolent act.
-
Good man. Any idea of the current total?

For Sale: Rangers FC. Several Careless Previous Owners.
Danny replied to Danny's topic in Rangers Chat
Well hopefully they are but i only wanted to discuss the received bids. I made reference to the Singapore bid being impending. -

I don't know. I'm more concerned than I was about the options we have. We have the problematic Knights, the reluctant Kennedy, and the unreliable Club 9 Sports. None of these bids inspire me now.
