This season in Europe was incredibly poor for United - normally they make the semis, final or win. No, I said it was better than La Liga. Right now I'm not sure any league is the best in the world. Italy's much stronger than it was, England is very strong, and despite the two horse race of La Liga, it's by no means a poor league.

Er, Only RM or Barca ever win La Liga. How is that better to Man Utd dominating England? When was the last time a non-Barca or RM team won La Liga? 2004 - Valencia. The EPL is leaps and bounds better than Spain - it's a richer SPL ffs. Italy is also back on par after some very weak recent years. But my question stands - how would he do out of Spain?

Messi plays in a league which is more open than the Titanic. The defending in Spain is completely shite, and it's not shocking that an extremely world class player like he would thrive there. If you want to buy a prized asset from a rich company, say Messi from Barca, expect to pay over the odds for him. If you want to buy a prized asset from a company who are financially sinking, you have all the power because they need money badly. It's basically the same thing as a firesale.

The position we're in, unless we get out of admin soon - is all about running costs and keeping us afloat. As such valuable assets lose their value and can be lost on the cheap.
