  1. Then why does everyone have so much fear about this happening. Is it some misguided belief that it 'won't be Rangers any more'? Why does having a new company run the club mean the club itself is now a different one? That's crap. And anyone who thinks differently, here's an example - the people running the club 10 years ago were not the same people running it 50 years previously. So it's different people, even if it's supposedly the same company. Different people means different club, right? Of course not! Why does a different company suddenly mean it's not Rangers any more? I can't quite fathom it.
  2. I might be utterly naive here, but a part of me thinks that starting again is the best thing that could happen to us. No one seems to know if we'd lose our history and trophies, but given Celtic, Fiorentina and Leeds haven't, can't see why we would. It would give us a chance to start again, to be taken into a proper business framework rather than the shocking and nigh-on illegal way we've been run in recent decades. As a newco we'd still be at Ibrox, we'd still be Rangers, and we'd still have our heritage. We might lose a lot of the squad, but we've had an overhaul in the past when Advocaat basically bought a new team. We might even consider application for England and starting in a new league, rather than the backwater that is the SPL. Am I way off base here?
  3. Out of the two I'm firmly in Miller's camp.
  4. I'm done with entertaining rumours and supposed sources. Not that I ever did so anyway. Maybe he has reason to lie, I don't know. All I know is rumours, counter rumours and misinformation is hurting the club every bit as much as a failure to find a new owner.
  5. Every time I see the prick on TV I basically scream 'ya fucking goblin' at the screen. Boggle eyes and a squirmy appearance. I hate the notion of trivialising such a stark word as 'cancer', but I can think of no other word to describe what that man has been to our club.
  6. Thanks Zaps. After my last blog which was an angry rant, I felt my mood lifted slightly. The squad we have really is quite good, just keeping it in one piece is the challenge.
  7. Ibrox Noise: It's Not All Bad A slightly more upbeat blog than recent ones. I can still see cause for hope. Maybe others can too. Feedback appreciated as always
  8. I understand your frustration, but from my point of view it's good news as I don't feel TBK are the best option for the club by any stretch.
  9. So was this thread a load of balls then?
  10. Not 100% sure - none of the options really stands out as a great choice. My own reluctant choice was Kennedy given his pretty clean business pedigree, the fact other colleagues have spoken well of him, and the fact he's successfully owned a sports club for many years already. Something we need.
  11. It concerns me that people who were part of us ending up in this mess are now fully in control. If this news is true. And I still hope it isn't.
  12. Not exactly thrilled if this is true. It feels like Rangers fans with egos taking over - without obviously having good funds to back their bid up. If it is true, and they take over, and it all works out, then I will happily take back my massive concerns. But right now I think this is a bad move and they're not the best option for the club.
  13. Not sure how 'boy playing at being a man' can labelled at successful businessman Kennedy who has happily owned the Sale Sharks for some years.
  14. I have to admit there was no sign of his quality at Wien - Rangers made him. His record for Croatia isn't that great. Being at Ibrox molded him into the player he now seems to be. And he might just be growing into a world class striker.
  15. Scores possibly the header of the season. He's probably going to end up getting a move to a top top English side at this rate.
  16. If we go newco, I take it our trophy cabinet remains untouched? Celtic's didn't, so why would ours be emptied?
  17. Nothing in particular - this will be the biggest match Jelavic has ever played in bar the Old Firm. He's done well for Everton and I have to say I find myself watching this for him in particular. Didn't think I'd care how he did down south but I find myself interested. And I hate Man Utd so I'm most definitely on Everton's side.
  18. El Clasico went some way, possibly, towards evening up the balance a bit here. Like I've said before, Ron doesn't get the credit he deserves and frankly ran the show yesterday. Messi wasn't poor but lacked end product.
  19. I don't blame anyone for walking away from trying to take Rangers over. The entire project is so woefully run that frankly, as Wall Street put it, 'money never sleeps'.
  20. The farcical nature of what is happening is basically in line with how we've been run for the past 20 years. It's got really, really bad in the last 5, and I am beginning to wonder if Rangers as we know them will survive at all.
  21. Boca has stood out. Frustating that Naisy and Aluko can't really be considered. Davis just hasn't had a good season.
  22. Scottish PFA announce the nominations. Davis, Mulgrew, Shiels, and Daly. I have no idea how Davis got in, he's had a distinctly average season at best.
  23. Totally random, but how do you pronounce 'Ng'?
  24. None of those midfielders will ever be remembered as greats. Kaka, in his Milan days, came close, but his form has slid badly since 2007. Xavi and Iniesta will be regarded as greats. Have a wee read of this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/timvickery/2012/03/political_fears_for_the_future.html There are some comments about Ronaldo's form for Portugal too, but when I've seen him he's sparkled more than anyone else. Messi's looked subdued, albeit I concede it's been some months since I saw him for Argentina. Not entirely agreed - Portugal are a stronger outfit than Argie these days - look at the rankings if you don't believe me. But your argument isn't consistent there - I'm not sure what point you're making?
  25. Ron for me. Messi has the benefit of Xavi and Iniesta, plus cannot seem to elevate his form to country level or indeed against Italian teams. Ron is just as good for Portugal, without having 2 of the greatest midfielders of all time to support him for club. But if Messi was to move to Rangers, I'd take him.
