Horses for courses I guess. I've always said time will tell whether we can trust Whyte - clearly 6 of you do. There hasn't been a scrap of evidence to support his integrity, other than his own claims. It's intriguing that no former business associates or colleagues have ever publicly defended him and his practices. While plenty have attacked.

I'm not actually sure what the hell to make of it tbh. Any organisation which dares to criticise anything about Whyte's regime is automatically smearing him and joins the 'big baddie' list of media outlets which Whyte 'bans' from Ibrox. The more this nonsense continues, the more I believe we sold the club to the wrong man.

Plenty of our youth prospects do make a name for themselves; Adam, Burke, Ferguson, Hughes, Hutton, etc. But far too many show great promise yet never seem to be given a fair crack of the whip - as if our management have historic fear of playing youngsters, no matter their ability.

The most fair thing you can say about his best position is he's supposedly versatile. He doesn't seem to have a best position, but was atrocious for us on the left and .3% better on the right. We never tried him as RB.

I've been slagged off for saying that about him! But you're right, he was poor for us and didn't fit in nor show any decent attacking threat as a winger. Poor signing altogether.

His career record is much better than Jelavic's. And for 500k he could be a very good value replacement.

In his defence, there are many players who find themselves addicted to the game, and refuse to give it up even when their body is telling them to do so and they're simply too old for it. When he left us, it was soddingly obvious, to me at least, that he wasn't going to get any kind of decent club at even League 3 England level. He's ended up in the Warrington & District Football League, fifth division of it. Whatever that is. I don't even think they're at the level of amateurs tbh. He probably isn't being paid.

I think you are finally understanding what we all meant by being embarrassed by being pipped by other clubs. I think this window is highlighting, truly, how dire our financial poverty is. A lot of us already knew how bad it was, but some didn't want to believe. I pointed out early on in the window that we simply have absolutely no money, but still fans were believing we'd sign significant players. It's not surprising that Hibs can beat us to a player - if we make 'absurd' offers for players then any club with reasonable finances can top it. We probably offered £75,000 and wages of 3k. Our entire outlay this window looks like being £250k on Celik - something I said a few days ago and the disagreement I received was strong. And with it increasingly looking like Jelavic is staying, there's going to be no sudden pot of cash to get us out this hole. I saw on Twitter a few folk chastising Walter for speaking out about our hideous finances - while I admit it might have been better if he'd spoken to someone other than the BBC, I take his opinion over that of most other people associated with the club. If we do not sort this out soon, we WILL end up back in the bowels of the 80s poverty we fought so hard to get out of.

He looked very energetic and pacey - his first contribution was to beat a man on the run and then continue his run before feeding a good ball into the box. He looks a prospect, but then time will tell if you can judge a book by its first cover.

Not the first time we've sold a star player for a fortune late on in a window. Hutton comes to mind - gave us no time to buy a replacement. Although many would argue we had a ready-made one in Whittaker waiting in the wings.
