  1. 0-0 half time. Been a captivating match, less blood and thunder than they usually are. Milan just about on top. Pato looking out of sorts.
  2. Same as with the parcel bombs. No mention of any football allegiances.
  3. Thought he was a left back.
  4. bartley is inadequate as right back. Decent cb. But doesn't read the flanks well.
  5. I do not like any player doing it. The only players who could get away with it are those we know to be genuine supporters, like Healy and adopted ones like Novo and Weiss. Otherwise it's tacky, shallow, and frankly unwelcome.
  6. IP is like an Internet postcode. Only gives the area. Certainly isn't precise.
  7. He has some very impressive ability but lacks the consistency to keep doing it. It comes in bursts and starts. Hateley said it's a mental thing with him, that he has to believe in his ability and may lack esteem and even confidence. He's probably right.
  8. It went a bit sour for Fergie in the end, no doubting that. But at his peak he was one of the finest footballers Scotland has ever produced. It's not easy to look world class against Porto, Parma, Leverkusen, Dortmund etc.
  9. PremiumTV. They no longer do our website. It's much better - the old one was stodgy and the slideshow was way too quick. But the info is out of date, take a look at Naismith's profile.
  10. He seems to be the complete package - surprisingly strong given his slender frame, got a great shot, eye for a pass, and has the holding capacities a DM needs. Just a bit of a cunt he can't stay fit for very long. Hopefully it's something he can grow out of because he could be the next Barry Ferguson for us if he realises his potential. That said, some players remain fragile as glass - Milan's Pato has rarely had an extensive injury free period - hence why he's never truly realised his potential either.
  11. If we could get him injury free, Ness would be my first choice midfielder over Edu. By a mile.
  12. Cost about the same iirc. £1.5M as I remember. We could, but we'd be wrong. Mendes' best position is as DM, which is where he played for Sporting when he left us. It was a myth that he was some kind of gifted ball player with creativity in abundance. I will never understand why Walter kept playing him out of position. We agree on this. But if Sochaux desperately want him, well, I'm sure they can offer more than the peanuts they've tried so far.
  13. I can't understand why they want him so much. Do they just see 'ever present US international' and assume he's the ghost of Essien? If we accepted a bid, would he want to play at a bottom of the table side, even if it's a much better league?
  14. They're offering peanuts, and well below what we paid. They're trying to take advantage of the situation they think we're in which lost us Miller for only £450k. If they are this desperate for Edu, they really need to bid a lot higher.
  15. Qatar I heard.
  16. I'm...not exactly sure the point you're making?
  17. http://ibroxnoise.blogspot.com/2012/01/transfer-window-in-out-in-out-shake-it.html A wee blog summing up how we're doing in January's transfer window.
  18. I wondered that at the time. I was excited about Ortiz, but hardly thrilled about Bedoya and most definitely not by McKay. We have to uncover hidden gems. Truth is we spent about £3.3M on players, and Wallace, Bocanegra, Goian were pretty much that amount - good signings I'm sure we all agree. That we received £1.7M and effectively wasted it on Ortiz, Bedoya and McKay is another matter. Bartley was of course a loan and Aluko was free. Did we sign anyone else? Sometimes you succeed, sometimes you don't.
  19. I deliberately left the wording that way to see who'd bite
  20. Maybe it's simply because he isn't good enough. Like Bedoya and Ortiz.
  21. Sorry, misread you. Yes, we'd make sod all from it being an away match.
  22. Not sure I agree - we bought Jela while in an even worse predicament than we are now. And spent almost £4M on him. The idea of spending £2M isn't insane. It's just depressing that we consider that a huge amount on one player.
  23. Saw that. How the 'mighty' have fallen. As a side point about Boyd, I realised something about his career in the SPL which may actually shed some light as to why he scored so many goals here. He had 10, or was it 11, pretty much interrupted injury free years. I think almost any striker given a decade in a league would be pretty high on the goal scoring lists. I was going to start a new thread on that one then decided against it. Miller was here for about 6 years on and off and scored over half Boyd's goals. Does that not make sense?
  24. With 11 Jigs in the team we'll be grand!
  25. Was that the match with Riorden for Killie?
