I'm surprised the BHEASTS are not trying to hijack this one:tongue:

My feet are firmly planted mate, wait and see if he signs for me. Having said that Rangers should push the boat out to resign Carlos,we need a CB of his calibre and is worth splashing the cash on.
-
What is the potential bonus money Rangers player can earn on top of their salary?, winning the League Cup,Scottish Cup,SPL,CL. Just wondering what kind of money the likes of Cuellar could earn on top of his alleged £25k with us.

This one is a wee bit strange as Ally was quoted as saying we will have to have a look at him!!!,should he not have had a look at him before he makes an offer??

In the Franz Kafka novel The Trial, a man is prosecuted by an obscure authority that fails to state his crime. I havenââ?¬â?¢t read it since my Existentialist teenage years, but memory is of a bizarre, claustrophobic fiction showing the evils of faceless bureaucracy. Of-course I would be hysterical if I said this was in any way modern Scotland. We are still part of a wonderfully free society that should make us proud. But we are still not past condemning others with labels ââ?¬â?? with no thought given to what that label actually means. We now habitually call others ââ?¬Å?Sectarianââ?¬Â without telling them what they have done wrong and then refusing any defence. Labelling someone ââ?¬Å?sectarianââ?¬Â is the new fashion, yet most assume their personal definition of sectarianism is the actual definition. The truth is that there is no agreed definition, and that is a major part of the problem. And donââ?¬â?¢t assume that those in authority are even aware of this. When people like Margo MacDonald MSP say the difference between Hearts/Hibs fans and Rangers/Celtic fans is that you will never see a family who supports both Old Firm teams, is to become aware that those making the decisions are sometimes scarily ignorant. This ignorance and reliance on ââ?¬Å?Groupthinkââ?¬Â can lead to a state where myth and lies becomes accepted as truth. The majority take the path of least resistance and rely on shallow statements and surface details, and never thinking of scratching below the surface. Over the past six months this has led to Politicians, Police and anti-Sectarian organisations so determined to stamp out sectarianism that they will flatly refuse to tell us what it is, or participate in any project to ease discrimination in society. Itââ?¬â?¢s all slogans. In fact there is so little action to ease sectarian discrimination in Politics, Law, the Media, Housing and Employment that you could say no-one believes it exists in these fields. Instead, the sole focus is on singing songs. Yes, the great fight of sectarianism that has so many people outraged is of a few football fans. When First Minister Alex Salmond wants to publicise an anti-sectarian initiative he goes to a football stadium. I am sure many readers will know of FARE (Football against Racism in Europe) who in their determination to stop Sectarian chanting from Rangers fans refuse to tell Rangers fans what is sectarian. (A cynic might think they are uninterested in preventing sectarianism so Rangers can be punished again.) What would happen if Scotland fans were accused of racism by FARE and UEFA punished the SFA without telling anyone what was said? There would be uproar among the SFA, Media and Parliament. The reason why this hasnââ?¬â?¢t happened in Rangersââ?¬â?¢ case is that most in the aforementioned chattering classes are enjoying it. Itââ?¬â?¢s human nature that we accept accusations against those we dislike without much care. The Rangers FC must take some of the blame for not stamping out certain songs among some Rangers fans quicker, and for being weak in not defending the vast majority of the overwhelmingly decent supporters from attacks by obsessed pro-IRA supporting ââ?¬Å?journalistsââ?¬Â, who spend their existence on blogs and twitter making all the worlds ills the fault of a Glasgow football team. Deranged bloggers and murky UEFA bodies aside, we should expect different standards from our political class and Police. How is it possible that Central Police publicly state in a recent match between a Rangers XI and Stirling Albion, that Rangers fans sang sectarian songs, yet cannot tell us what the songs are or why there were no arrests? Why the secrecy and lack of action? Yet, for all the recent fuss, Central Police, like Strathclyde Police, are aware of and defend the right of openly pro-IRA bands to sell concert tickets to sing songs about Surface to Air Missiles downing British Helicopters in Northern Ireland; IRA snipers executing young British soldiers as they plead for their life and blatantly racist lyrics like, ââ?¬Å?The Brits will never leave us until theyââ?¬â?¢re blown away.ââ?¬Â The truth is that Scottish Police, like other British police forces, are highly political. There is no political capital in senior officers stopping songs about murdering British people for no reason other than they are British. Why go after pro-IRA bands that are supported at concerts by high-profile people like Billy McNeill, Bertie Auld and John Hartson and others who have been authorised in the past to make pro-IRA song videos at Celtic Park? They know the fallout would be immense. However, there is plenty of career-advancing opportunity in being strong in condemning sectarianism among a few hundred young Rangers fans. Sectarianism that was so bad there were no arrests and the Police canââ?¬â?¢t even tell the public what happened. Take a moment to let that sink in. The Police are so confident that an offence has taken place that they publicise it, but refuse to arrest anyone and wish to keep the offence a secret. The new ââ?¬Å?Secret Sectarianismââ?¬Â at work. http://johndcgow.com/2011/07/14/secret-sectarianism/

TITLE winners but drained by the effort needed to become champs. Ally McCoist looked at battle-weary Rangers and feared the worst - then came Kaunas. The Ibrox men stumbled into their Champions League qualifier in Lithuania and then crashed OUT, not enough fresh faces signed to help a squad which could give no more. Three years on from that bitter 2008 experience McCoist fears history could repeat itself. It's the draw for Europe's elite competition today with Rangers set to find out where they'll go for their massive knock-out tie. If they're lucky it's part-timers in Ireland. If they're not so lucky it's a Euro outpost like Moldova, Slovenia or Georgia. McCoist is working around the clock to sign new stars in time for the double header knowing all too well the risk he runs if he fails to deliver. He said: "Because of when it is in the season, the Champions League qualifier will be tricky especially if we have to go to Eastern Europe, to Georgia or a place like that. "We've done it before in Kaunas a few years ago. We were burnt in Kaunas and that was horrendous as we were coming off a great season. We looked jaded and tired. To say that right at the start of the season was strange but that was how we looked. "That's why this time, we need players in to help the ones already here and to freshen the place up a bit. "It has an affect on the players already here. After Kaunas we signed the likes of Pedro Mendes and a few others. But by then it was too late. "That's how we know what's required this year. The new players will be in, we will be ready." McCoist prays for luck of the draw. Partisan Belgrade are amongst the worst possible opponents but McCoist has his fingers crossed Rangers don't get a hellish first game. He added: "It would be ideal to get someone close to home like Shamrock Rovers from Ireland or one of the Scandinavians like Malmo or Helsinki. "If I had a choice, it would be one of those teams because of the travelling involved. "We know there are teams from Georgia, Moldova and Slovenia as well. It wouldn't be a total disaster but avoiding them would suit us. "We want to do as well as we can in Europe - the priority has to be to retain the championship and qualify for the Champions League. That's what we want to do, they are the two targets at the start of the season." Rangers star Kyle Hutton can't wait to see who Rangers get. The Champions League has special memories for the youngster. He made his first start for the club against Manchester United in the company of greatness. Hutton said: "Like the rest of the boys, I'm buzzing to see who we get. "Obviously, making my debut last season against United is something that will stay with me forever. "To line up against the likes of Paul Scholes, Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs was like a dream come true. Hopefully we can get another good draw and I can get another chance. "That experience definitely makes me more determined to try and get back there. "I have had a taste of it and I want more. "Playing in that United game was a massive help to my confidence. "It helped for the rest of the season in terms of dealing with any nerves when it comes to playing in front of thousands of fans. It was a boost. "The whole atmosphere, the whole Champions League experience, is massive and coming through it was definitely of benefit to me." Hutton is desperate to get going again in the new season. He was in and out of the side last season after breaking through and is desperate to become a regular. He added: "I think this is a big season for me. Last year was about trying to break into the team and I played a few games. "This year is about taking my chance and showing what I can do in the SPL. "Obviously, we have big Lee McCulloch there and he has been playing well. I just need to keep myself ready and show what I can do if I get on in games. "Could I be the long-term replacement for Jig? I don't know. I hope so. "He has a few years left on his contract and I'm looking to learn from him. Hopefully, I can take over in the years to come." EL HADJI DIOUF has gone AWOL from Blackburn - after being kicked out for showing off the SPL title medal he won with Rangers. Nobody has seen or heard from bad boy striker Diouf since he was ordered out before the crunch scrap with Wolves in May. He turned up with the gong after his four-month stay at Ibrox ended. But Rovers boss Steve Kean - an ex-Celtic youth player - was not impressed. Kean got coach Iain Brunskill to get rid of Diouf and an insider said: "That day El Hadji was showing off his medal and behaving pretty obnoxiously. "The rest of players were fighting for their survival in the Premier League and the management weren't happy about Diouf disrupting them. "He was ordered to leave and told he wasn't welcome back at the training ground for the remainder of the season. "But he was expected back for the start of the pre-season training - and there's no sign of him." Ewood officials have been desperately trying to contact Senegal star Diouf, 30, but so far have had no success. Kean has made it clear there is no future for him at Blackburn but so far there have been no suitable offers for the controversial ace. Rangers manager Ally McCoist is not interested, while Diouf's old boss Sam Allardyce - now at West Ham - has yet to make his move. Rangers boss Ally McCoist has confirmed they have tabled a bid for Espanyol defender Raul Rodriguez. The Gers are thought to have offered £400,000 for Rodriguez as they look to lure the 23-year-old to Ibrox. McCoist is waiting to hear back from Espanyol on the offer and he admits he is planning further bids for more defensive reinforcements. Rodriguez only broke into the Espanyol side last season but the Gers gaffer is convinced he can be a success at Ibrox. "A bid has gone into Espanyol but we haven't heard anything back from them yet," McCoist told the Daily Record. "We need cover and hopefully Rodriguez would give us that. I'd hope he could go straight into our team but we'd need to have a look at him first. "That's the only bid we have in at the moment but there will be more during the next 24 hours. "I'll know in the next couple of days whether we've been successful with other targets but we're hopeful. It's safe to say Rodriguez won't be the last defender we go for." Backing Rangers have made only one new signing this summer in the shape of Juan Manuel Ortiz, but McCoist insists he will be backed by owner Craig Whyte in the transfer market this summer. "I'm absolutely getting the backing. There's no doubt about that and there's not a problem there," added McCoist. "I've been on the phone to Craig two or three times a day in Germany and he's taking a great interest as you'd expect. "There are no problems there and, believe me, he's just as keen to get new faces in as we all are. "We have to get it right and we will. The fans will see new players in." http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11781_7036093,00.html
