If that’s a 50% fit Sadiq as Gerrard says he’s going to be a real handful in the SPL. Apparently he only got a run out at all to let the fans get a look at him even though just half fit.

From the Wigan fans point of view they were worried that they were trounced by an SPL side which as we all know the English consider a pub league but not just that. They considered this a Rangers reserve side thrashing them.

It’s a perfect game with perfect timing to give some others a run out before Thursday then the sheep. If we beat the sheep in their sheep pen they and others will claim we had better preparation due to a couple more competitive games. Plus they will chip in with a hard game against Burnley while we will have been playing what will be claimed to be easy opposition. I don’t see them getting by Burnley. Winnng home games while not conceding is crucial in Europe. They failed on both counts.

I'm seeing no more of it so far.

They lost to Austria Vienna in the play off round last season but only just. They were beaten 2-1 at home by the Austrians but then won the away leg in Austria to achieve a 2-2 aggregate but went out on away goals. That makes me think they went to Austria and threw up a brick wall hoping to snatch something on the break which they did but it wasn't enough. And that further makes me think they're going to come to Ibrox with the same strategy. We need to score to seal this. I also get the feeling that they may actually be better than the potential opponent waiting in the next round.

I certainly don’t care. We will easily fill Ibrox without their terrorist loving contingent but I seriously doubt they can do the same without us at the terrordrome.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Lafferty did push for it but he’s a 30 year old with around 10 months left on a contract. They can take the proverbial flying jump if they ask for a million for a guy we could sign for free on a precontract in just a little more than 5 months from now. we got a 21 year old Morelos for a million.

As we know they beat PSV home and away last season in the third qualifying round then narrowly lost on away goals to Austria Vienna after a 2-2 aggregate in the play off round. They're no pushovers regardless of what some may seem to think.

Might also be fair to say that of the 3 Scottish EL entrants playing tonight we were the only ones playing away and look to have the best chance of going through.

We have Wigan on Sunday for some further experimentation and familiarisation before next week. I’m hoping Sadiq gets a run out against Wigan to get a look at him. Doesn’t matter if he isn’t quite up to speed yet in a friendly and what better way to help get him up to speed.

We're winning away from home in Europe with a new team containing some making their first appearance and others still waiting for a first appearance. Can't come complain about that and you would expect them to get better with familiarity. Another goal with no reply would leave us sitting comfortably for the home tie.

Sounds as if Kent is justifying his inclusion.
