  1. With two league games under our belt along with the Euro games I'm starting to drift into a comfort zone where I'm expecting consistency of performance and high level performance. The latest red card robbed us of some flexibility when we were in the ascendancy and looking as if this could have turned into a rout if not for that red card.
  2. Two games in two games played with 10 men and still no one can live with us.
  3. Will we ever be allowed to keep 11 men on the pitch. Still can't get a chance to see the full potential.
  4. Hubz losing at St Johnstone we go second if things remain as they are.
  5. The way I see it is that if we're going to consider ourselves a title challenging team games like this are a must win. What would everyone be thinking if St Mirren were away to the sheep or yahoos? Probably a Nap on coupons so I have to think the same thing when we play them at Ibrox.
  6. If we have hit the level i'm hoping we have I think it is a given but in saying that I still don't know if we have hit that level. Today will give us an indication of that. Looking forward to seeing Barsic go at them.
  7. Also occurs to me that he's not so predictable as previous incumbents have been. Teams can't come to Ibrox knowing ahead of time exactly how we will line up and play.
  8. Don't know if this is one of the mix and match horses for courses strategies he promised or saving players for Thursday.
  9. Right footed according to transfermarkt. I looked that up after seeing the goal because he didn't look like a natural leftie when striking it. https://www.transfermarkt.com/kyle-lafferty/profil/spieler/36884
  10. Well the Saint Mirren fans seem to think they're going to have a go and I hope they do because that's exactly what would get them slaughtered but I doubt Stubbs is as stupid as they are. An example post from their forum.
  11. There can be no disputing that Gerrad jumped in at the deep end when he came to Ibrox and he knew exactly what he was getting into but still totally went for it. I think he actually said the chance was a no brainer for him and that shows real guts and supreme confidence. If this all went pear shaped for him he had to be well aware he could be shooting himself in the foot Nevillesque style regarding his Liverpool ambitions but still he went for it. Kudos Stevie and so far it's all working out. Aside from all the obvious reasons I as a Rangers fan want this to work out I also want Gerrard to get the chance to give an Osijek manager type middle finger to all the media scoffers who wrote him off before he even got started.
  12. What a strike and he took it left footed.
  13. Good strategic thinking to leave Lafferty with Hearts till after their match with the yahoos. It payed off for both of us.
  14. Thought it was funny when Gerard talked about being the worlds first scouse translator.
  15. Another potential indicator of where we're at. How many times last season did we stumble when rivals had dropped points? Far too many. Time to halt that tendency.
  16. Yes indeed and I see this game as more of an indicator than last week. First of all I hope we can keep 11 on the pitch and secondly this is the bread and butter of a title challenge. We're always beating the sheep but regularly dropping points in these type of games and that's what's been killing our challenge. A convincing win will be an excellent indicator of where we're going.
  17. I thought that with some consistency we could have taken that league last season. We now have a better and so far unbeaten team that appears to be displaying some consistency. Here's hoping and up yours paddy power.
  18. I think we need to be looking for a convincing win with as least as many goals scored as we hit against Maribor. First home league game of the season against an also ran and a good opportunity to put the fear back into teams coming to Ibrox this season. A fear that's been non existent for sometime now.
  19. Gerrard for me comes across as an extremely honest type of guy. He's not going to sit there prevaricating if asked uncomfortable questions he will address it as he sees it. And that's one of the reasons I was so irritated by the grief he got for simply saying we were a class above the sheep last Sunday. We were and anybody watching could clearly see it including Gerrard. Yesterday apparently McInnes said that Swansea aren't good enough for McKenna but I saw no screams of disrespecting Swansea.
  20. I knew we were better but still not sure of how much better. I didn't see this game but judging from reports and the result it's infinitely better and we still haven't fielded what's likely to be the first 11.
  21. So it appears the team Gerrard has built can compete at this level. It’s a better result than both the yahoos and hubz.
  22. Does this require one of the half time bollockings Gerrard has previously mentioned.
