I knew that ball was over even before the replays. -

Ball was a yard over the line. -
Footballing Legend Paul Gascoigne sits down for an intimate 50 minute interview telling stories with Willie Thorne before a live audience in Skegness in May 2018. Gazza tells stories about his early days at Newcastle United, the first time he played against Vinnie Jones and that 'ball grabbing' moment, signing for Tottenham Hotspur after agreeing with Alex Ferguson to sign for Manchester United, training with an ostrich, joining Lazio, escaping to Euro Disney, playing against Maradona drunk, ending up at Glasgow Rangers, the dentist chair celebration playing for England plus injuries, heartbreaks and more.

Well since ultra defensive strategies are largely what we will face at Ibrox in the league this can be a test of how we break that down.

The yahoos took until the final 12 minutes to nail down a 3-1 win at Championship Partick. I would guess that final spell came down to superior fitness and suggests they're nothing like as good as they're painted to be in many quarters. They wont run us down with superior fitness. My own opinion is that they're not as good as they have been in recent seasons but we're a lot better. What that means in terms of the title remains to be seen.

The bookies seem to think it's a two horse race for first between City and Liverpool. You can get 20/1 Utd.

The Summer 2018 Transfer Window Rumours and Deals
JFK-1 replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
Trouble in Bordeaux. I'm guessing such turmoil may put any further activity trying to acquire Morelos on hold. Gus Poyet: Bordeaux suspend ex-Brighton boss after criticism of player sale Gus Poyet has been suspended for a week by Bordeaux after his criticism of the club about the sale of a key striker. The former Brighton boss said the club were a "disgrace" for selling striker Gaetan Laborde to Ligue 1 rivals Montpellier without his permission. The 50-year-old had threatened to resign after Thursday's Europa League win over Mariupol. He said: "I'm not happy. It's my worst day at this club. I asked not to let him leave until we bring in a player." The ex-Chelsea midfielder, who joined the French club last January, added: "I will make a decision. I don't know if this will be the end for me [at Bordeaux]." Stephane Martin, the club's president, said on Friday that there had been "tension" during the current transfer window and that Poyet thought he was "the boss of the club". Martin added: "We think he overstepped the mark in Thursday's post-match press conference so the club took this decision. "The start of the transfer window brought some tension. But it is a surprise after a win to have such a violent outburst, so we took the action that, in my opinion, had to be taken. "There was behaviour where he thought he was the boss of the club. That's not the case - I'm the boss at the club with the owners and the shareholders." Martin said after a week of suspension both the club and Poyet will discuss the issue. Poyet was also suspended by Brighton in 2013 for an alleged breach of contract. He was consequently fired by the Seagulls, and learnt the news while working on a live BBC Match of the Day programme. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/45220878 -
I can understand flights being expensive because it's off the beaten track so to speak and a pretty long distance. Almost 2,300 miles from London I believe. But I would have thought accommodation etc would be pretty cheap. Saw somewhere that you can get change out of a pound for a pint of beer. Might be that if you book through a travel firm they're charging you an arm and a leg over what it actually costs for accommodation there. Azimut Hotel Ufa. $24 US a night.

Maribor made the CL group stages last season so they're no pushovers. I hope to soon emulate them in that respect. The two ties were all about the result. We went through 3-1 on aggregate. Job done.
-
That's another balancing act isn't it. Do we prefer a glamour group littered with elite giants we would have little chance against? Or in the circumstances would a group full of lesser lights we could pick up points against be better? Remember points make prizes in the form of hard cash and maybe even a chance to get to the knockout stage.
-
Another factor clouding my feelings about it would be is it better for us that they're out and getting no further Euro income at all? But on the other hand if they're out and we're in does that give them an advantage in a title race.
-
Probably but strangers things have happened. I'm positing an either or. Is it better for us and a title challenge for them to be in or out.
-
That was my first thought too but then other thoughts began clouding it. The priority for us is and always has been win back our title and get a crack at major money in the CL. With that in mind is it better for us and a title challenge to have them playing on Thursday nights just like us if we qualify?

PRESS CONFERENCE | Gerrard and McAllister | 17 Aug 2018
JFK-1 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
He's so good at handling the press pack. Someone brings up Lafferty, before he can even finish Gerrard interrupts with "did you see Craig Leveins interview yesterday? So did I so I think we both know where we are with that one" ? As for Morelos wonder what a sufficient offer would be in Gerrard's view. -
The Summer 2018 Transfer Window Rumours and Deals
JFK-1 replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
To my mind this should end the debate around Morelos. Given where he has got us in such a short time I think it's pretty difficult for the board to refuse what he's publicly stating he wants. Especially so since there is ample time left to cash in on Morelos. -

Yep, saw him blaze one really high over the bar from maybe 8 yards out late on. But the boy must have something when you consider that Stevie wants to keep him, Kris Boyd recently said he thinks Morelos can get 25-30 in the league this season, and multi million offers keep coming in for him. -
Zenit St Petersburg produced the biggest Europa League comeback in 33 years as they overturned a 4-0 first-leg deficit in astonishing fashion to stun Dinamo Minsk. Zenit St Petersburg 8 - Dinamo Minsk 1
-
If we keep winning in the league a win at the piggery on September 2nd will produce a meltdown of classic proportions as we move 4 points clear of them.
-
Yep, it's all the sheep forum wants to talk about. No mention of the game or our performance. Just fighting with police and wishes that we would get kicked out. Their irrelevance is driving them crazy. Even the hubz lot who have just had a bitter blow are coming around to recognising on their forum that we're a force to be reckoned with, better than them, and potential champions. But not the sheep.

There will be a total of 48 teams in 4 pots for the group draw. The draw will separate the 48 out into 12 groups of 4. The pots are ordered by co-efficiency. Arsenal ,Chelsea, Leverkusen etc will be in pot 1 and be put in a group alongside 1 team from each of the other 3 pots. We might be in pot 4 or 3 at best.

Stevie wants to keep him, does anyone see the board defying him at this stage? And again, we're on the verge of a potentially great season with years left to cash in on Morelos. -
