It's been scrappy since the first 5 minutes but momentum keeps being broken for treatment to our injured players. That was a nasty one Aribo took. Elbow to the head. -
Yeah but since he's had issues after football too I would rather not go into too much more detail.
-
I felt he knew exactly what he was doing.

Well there have been lots of popes. ?

Steven Gerrard yesterday confirmed star striker Alfredo Morelos has been called up again for the Colombian squad. The Colombian has been in even better form this season than last, and has delivered on all stages for his club this term, and Gerrard praised a great deal of his contribution, but crucially pointed out it’s earned Morelos a preliminary call up for Carlos Queiroz’ men next month for an international meeting midway through October, albeit no fixtures are actually confirmed for it yet. The striker has really stepped up this season, and massively improved his discipline, but it’s that call up for the 23-year old, infamously rejected for Colombia’s Copa America group in the summer, that suggests the Portuguese manager of the Coffee Men is starting to believe in the Rangers forward again. The ex-Man Utd assistant and Real Madrid manager still has his final 24 to whittle the initial 37-strong group down to, and Atalanta’s Luis Muriel has mostly been ahead of Morelos lately, but with the ex-HJK man very much in the mix to be part of this international camp, it points in the direction of Rangers’ talisman moving in the right direction to take his international career from flirting with selection to becoming an increasing mainstay. https://www.ibroxnoise.co.uk/2019/09/steven-gerrard-makes-alfredo-morelos.html

I think it can be difficult harking back further than say the mid 1960's. I would opine that the professional game back then was effectively amateur in comparison to pre 1960's and current standards. I think it's safe to say players from that era couldn't live in say a current Rangers side due to the athleticism and physicality of the modern game. It's possible some of these greats from a bygone era would never have been able to achieve the levels of athleticism and physicality required and I actually know a guy who could have been a top player but didn't make it because he simply couldn't live an athletes life. He came up through Celtic youth ranks during the O'Neill era and made a few substitute first team appearances but never got into the first 11. Inveterate gambler, heavy drinker, prone to disappearing on drinking binges, failing to turn up for training, or turning up heavily hungover. At age 20 he was transferred to Premier league St Johnstone for 200K then after 3 years and 69 appearances it was a rapid tumble through numerous clubs in just a couple of years to land at the likes of Stenhousemuir. This guy had the talent in abundance but just couldn't live the life of a modern top level professional footballer and I believe many players from pre modern eras could have gone down a similar path. Because when you think about it back then that type of behaviour wouldn't have been viewed as so out of touch with a footballers life. It's possible many of them actually lived in a similar manner to this guy I mentioned though maybe not quite to that extreme but could still play at an elite level because all teams were littered with guys like that. But in saying that it takes nothing away from their achievements in their era. They were the best of their time and you can't do any better than that.

I would deem him the greatest Scottish Rangers striker but when it comes to greatest ever Scottish striker I might go for Denis Law.

The real question is what would have been the Dallas response if that had happened at the other end with one of our guys. I don't know if it was a penalty but we all know it was a deliberate handball.

Would have been a lot happier if this were a home game. They're going to set up like St Johnstone etc so what we're going to get is yet another battle to break through a parked bus strategy on the dreaded plastic pitch. I know we need a trophy but if it came to a choice I would rather slip up in this one than the sheep game which follows it in which i'm hoping for a humiliating hammering akin to that we handed out to hibs. -
Presumably Gerrard will play for Liverpool since he’s a Liverpool legend.

It might actually be a more impressive result than we may think at first glance. Yes they're bottom of the league but aside from a hiding from the yahoos at the piggery on the opening day of the season their record since then isn't all that bad. Their last outing before today resulted in a 1-1 draw away at the sheep pen plus they have had draws away at hubz and home against Livi which gives them their 3 points. Their only other defeat aside from us and the yahoos was a narrow 1-0 loss to Killie.

By all accounts Barisic demonstrated why we signed him hopefully resolving the left back conundrum. But a part of me still wonders if he is only able to perform well against opposition who try to play football and as we all know that's not what he's going to get in the SPL.
