The Spring & Summer 2019 Transfer Rumours Thread
JFK-1 replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
Wasn’t it the case though that he requested to leave and decided not to keep what might have become an unhappy player who has given good service? -
I just can’t figure out why they think forcing such a player out is a good idea. He’s currently the best they have and one of the best they have ever had.

Euro QR4 Draw: Legia Warsaw/Atrimitos v FC Midtjylland/Rangers
JFK-1 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Couldn’t have asked for much better and if we can’t beat them then we’re simply not good enough to be in the groups. I feel confident we can win it and presuming that happens it then all comes down to the qualifying round draw. Going to need some luck there. -
match thread (image) [FT] Rangers 1 - 1 Blackburn (Defoe 30)

There was a little of the old problem on show. Exerting dominance but failing to kill it off. I expect that to improve with increased fitness and a more stable line up. -

I find this hugely encouraging and I don't mean Defoe scoring. He's always been a goal machine and still is so that's just par for the course. I'm talking about the perfect cross from Jones and how it was executed. I read a report from some rag or other that Jones was 'given the time' to get in a cross. Given the time? One quick touch to line it up then the cross and it's in the net. He wasn't 'given time' it was simply executed too fast for the opposing defenders to get in his way. The more I see of him the more I think he's going to do a good job. An opinion on Jones from Steven Smith. https://www.ibroxnoise.co.uk/2019/07/former-rangers-defender-may-just-have.html -
I get the feeling he wouldn't leave Britain at this stage in his career and might have an eye on coaching in a couple of years or so. Better to stay at home if that's the case and where better to round off his playing career than with a team who will win most of the time and have the chance of honours instead of the drudgery of playing with relegation battlers..

It is steep for a pre season online friendly in fact approaching exorbitant might be a fair description. I'm irritated with them for that but not angry as such. I know they're putting every penny into the club.

The Spring & Summer 2019 Transfer Rumours Thread
JFK-1 replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
I’m hoping and think there is at least a possibility that Tav is just too invested in the team and the potential of the coming season to think of leaving at this stage. He’s been there since the disappointments of the Warburton SPL season and he knows as well as anybody that we have turned a corner. Hopefully he’s simply so invested that he won’t want to miss this. He’s still young enough to make an EPL move next season. -

We're still being linked with midfielders. https://www.rangersnews.uk/news/latest-report-suggests-rangers-herbie-kane-interest-is-concrete/ -
While I do appreciate that St Joes are part timers I’m still content with the manner of our victory. Killie were playing part timers with a stadium capacity of 1,500 and are out. The sheep were playing a team with a stadium capacity of 4,000 and a squad value of just 2 million pounds and labored to get through it. We won 10-0 over the 2 legs while still not fully fit and rarely getting out of second gear plus arguably haven’t even fielded the strongest 11. While it’s not a sure guide of where we are it is encouraging.
-
Robust approach? Has he never seen Scottish football? Going to be interesting to hear his opinion after being kicked off the park by the sheep or maybe a visit to Motherwell.
-
They may be a few levels below us but so are that lot the sheep played tonight and that was an entirely different result. Sheep list an early goal and as it stood at that stage they were out on away goals. They needed a penalty to get back into it and an injury time goal to kill it. We’re looking good. Scoring freely and still conceding nothing. The Killie game will give us a better idea of where we are.

Euro QR4 Draw: Legia Warsaw/Atrimitos v FC Midtjylland/Rangers
JFK-1 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Shortest odds of the day for this round and this is the best odds you can get on Rangers to win. Rangers 1/33 - St Josephs 80/1 Others are offering 1/200 Rangers. Draw 22/1 -
All bias aside that's such an ugly structure in comparison to this.

Euro QR4 Draw: Legia Warsaw/Atrimitos v FC Midtjylland/Rangers
JFK-1 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Draw for the 3rd qualifying round is Monday so we will see what emerges from that but I'm remaining confident. I think we have a good side and certainly a better side than last time. While we're hoping to avoid some of the top seeds I would wager a number of them are hoping to avoid us too. -

Gerrard expecting another high scoring game with potentially even more goals than the first leg due to the superior surface and lower temperatures. And there will be no easing up despite the fact it's already sealed. https://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/17776815.steven-gerrard-won-39-t-allow-rangers-ease-cruise-next-round-europa-league/ -

While i'm hoping to avoid the likes of Wolves if we drew them I wouldn't automatically think we were out. The sheep took Burnley to extra time in the second leg at Burnley last season after a 1-1 draw at the sheep pen. And we're a far superior outfit to that sheep side. -
Fleetwood Town manager Joey Barton has been charged with causing actual bodily harm following a post-match incident in the tunnel at Barnsley on 13 April. Police say the incident, after the Tykes beat Fleetwood 4-2 in a League One game at Oakwell, left a man with facial injuries. Barton has previously "emphatically denied" accusations he confronted Barnsley manager Daniel Stendel. The 36-year-old has been bailed until 9 October. Barnsley complained to the Football Association and English Football League in April about the incident. At the time, South Yorkshire Police also appealed for any witnesses with footage of the incident to come forward. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/49013849

I feel a reasonable degree of confidence. It wont do our title charge much good initially but the money is a necessity. -
If you don't want your excitement levels to be increased even further don't listen to this. https://play.acast.com/s/recordrangers/2f1b2a91-b503-412a-9151-9351dcc0acab
