Are you surprised by the Record? I would really like to know the source of this supposed Gordon Smith letter. The more I read it, the less I believe its authenticity.

Where did that come from? Part of me is very dubious that that message actually came from Smith.

There really isn't any doubt about that. It's just that the press and police force and government have selective vision.

That would all be good if Rooney was any good but he is finished. Look at his career compared to Scholes. Scholes was a top class attacking player who, due to reducing fitness, had to start moving into a deeper role around 31/32. Rooney started moving back when he was about 28 and it almost ineffective wherever he plays.

The issue I have with that article is that in a section which is not attributed to the rambling of Hay, the author questions whether the SFA "have the backbone" to strip titles, insinuating that if they don't, they are cowards. This is the kind of subtle (or not so subtle) attacks that will constantly rise up over the next few months, whipping the moonhowlers and those on the periphery into a bloodletting. And we all know who's behind it.
