  1. Aye. I'll try and remember to post back when we get the exact price. It appears in Spain you can't buy tickets ages in advance like you can in Britain. Tickets seem to be available to buy a week or two before the match. Certainly that was the case for the Real Madrid - Almeria game in March.
  2. My dad is in the process of securing Sevilla tickets for us all travelling over there. His work colleagues have told him to expect to pay about 50 euros a ticket. And that's buying them direct from the club before anyone suggests otherwise.
  3. Sorry moved our posts as thought they were more relevant here. Will keep this stickied as long as it's generating discussion.
  4. Didn't notice that. Yes, they're usually pish. But they make for decent discussion at times. Even if it's just to slag it off.
  5. Currently =93rd. Will keep this up the top as long as people are interested. That team in the Thursday Cup are currently well above us.
  6. Finger hovering over the groan button for when Gazza gets his preview up.
  7. Unstickied this. Old news and hardly any clubs left.
  8. It is an interesting debate starter as these things always are. Even accounting for Kauns I think it's mad we can be 14th one year and 96th 2 years later. I dunno if you were using it to suggest Sevilla are a glamour club? They are not. But they should be. If other leagues got half the coverage the EPL does then surely Sevilla would be up around the Chelsea's or at least Arsenal's for glamour on the recent seasons? Ps. Post the original link in a new thread and I can sticky it if you cant.
  9. Sevilla are a quality team. They are not a glamour club. Many casual fans are a bit ignorant and don't realise that the chance to watch Rangers test themselves against Sevilla is currently a bigger opportunity than playing AC Milan or maybe even Bayern Munich.
  10. Quite possibly mate. The club clearly got it wrong. But Cal is right in pointing out our dilemma. We don want to be "ripped off", but if we don't pay up the club falls further behind. £38 was wrong. But would £30 have guaranteed a sell out? And even if it had it was still less money than £38. So perhaps the happy medium was somewhere in between? But if £38 put some fans off, then so would £34 no? The differences are so small that dropping a couple of quid off may have made no difference at all? Was it a club error? Or a somewhat unavoidable consequence of the global economy and the lack of a "glamour" tie? (Bearing in mind we just played one of the best teams in Europe who were worthy winners against Madrid's galacticos!)
  11. Bear in mind the sad passing of great Irish singer Stephen Gateley who no doubt has a connection with them. At least he will should they have a payer suspended or injured for a key game.
  12. Fairly how I feel though without the experiences of being at Hampden.
  13. I didn't/don't expect to get any support for my p.ov. there. But it's funny people only get up in arms about the British stuff when it's England/Ulster getting knocked. People start getting tore into Scotland and it's fair game, even though Scotland is just as much a part of Britain these same people don't get so defensive over their British identity. Many delight in slagging people who think of themselves as Scottish first, giving it all the check your passport chat and over similar jibes. Yet if they are so pro-union why do they not get offended by slurs and attacks on Scotland and why are they not more proud of our Scottish heritage. Btw although this is a generalisation this is not an attack on everyone. If you are oenly pro-British and include all parts of the union in that, then clearly I do not refer to you.
  14. It's because their fans don't behave themselves that we get early OF kick offs.
  15. Aye, agree with your points. I'm not saying the club were right, clearly they got it (a bit) wrong. But I think it's daft not to try and understand the thought process that led to these decisions as opposed to thinking they were just trying to screw the fans at any cost. I think the money men only look at the bottom line and the short term.
  16. They got it wrong in trying to maximise the income from tickets. They banked on our loyalty meaning that we'd get a full house. Normally the club get it about spot on. They perhaps didn't factor in the credit crunch and the quality of opposition. That said 40k at £38 =£1,520,000 50k at £30 =£1,500,000 Disagrees with Gisa's assertion. So the club got it wrong in that we didn't have a full house. Yet we still got the same amount of money. Had they pitched them at £30 and more than sold out the stadium, the individual who set the price would get his balls toed. From a financial point of view the club will be happy they got nothing wrong. I think we'll see more tickets bought on an individual basis anyway, increasing turnover and hence getting the club more money, which is what they want. Being able to rationally analyse the process as Calscot has, with an understanding of business, is not the same as ranting at fans and his point about contradictory arguements is fair, even if that annoys us.
  17. I think it's a case of both Cal and Norris being right. MF will hate that, he only deals in absolutes, black and white. :fish: It depends on perspective. Norris is right in that a better quality team are charging less than us to watch CL games. However Cal is right that 1) the club are only working to the business principal of supply and demand (though as UCB states they've got it a little wrong this time). 2) We need the money more, it is a greater percentage of our overall income and we cannot afford not to seek to make the most of it especially if we want to be competitive home and abroad. We can't invest in the team without money and this is one way to increase our income. Doesnt make it feel any better overall though.
  18. I don't want anything that could dissolve our Scottish identity. Too many try to hide it as it is under a banner of "britishness" but it is fairly obvious for a lot of fans that they don't give two shits about Britain. Use FF as an example. When they get on their high horse over there because someone laughs at an ENgland defeat. But there are plenty who slag Scotland and none who are pro-Wales. They may talk of Britain but they're only interested in England and Ulster.
  19. Fair play, he was desperate for a result. Near to getting the sack.
  20. You can say he went out of the game. But you could also say that he stopped the Chinese player influencing proceedings. So perhaps sometimes it is necessary to sacrifice a player to stop the opposition. A decent tactical switch from Walter imo.
  21. Not one i've tried, but will aim to at some point. Will keep the whisky related chat in your other thread now though.
  22. A serious question. I used to drink a few different whisky's with my old flat mate at uni. But not had a decent malt in a while. So was just wondering.
  23. I think it's an accusation that could be laid against Davis and Mendes unfortunately. Two of our most gifted players.
  24. Aye, the most frustrating players to watch are not those of "limited ability" but those of greater ability but whom, for whatever reason, appear unwilling or unable to demonstrate it consistently.
