To be fair, Lafferty would most likely work better in that team and formation due to the attributes him and Boyd possess. My comments above were more related to the repeated suggestion that Lafferty should walk straight into this weekend's team despite not being match fit. If he was a Gazza or Laudrup type player, fair enough. As I say though, that post was stimulated more by general feeling online and not so much your post which I presume was more a starting XI for the future. I.e. When Lafferty has regained match fitness.

Supporters Trusts in the UK: did you know?

I'm not knocking Gersnet, why would I. It's my preferred site for posting. Being small, and admitting the size of the site is not a criticism imo. There's less fuds posting shite for start. In general, the vest majority of contributions are of high quality, even if we don't always agree with view points. In that respect I understand the reason why so much RST information is passed through FF. Reach as many fans as possible as quickly as possible. Kind of a similar arguement to the one Gav and I discussed on the ESPN/Sky thread about the way British companies act. I have already stated, although perhaps not explicitly, that the RST should aim to "spread their word" on as many Rangers sites as possible. And to do so evenly, without preference for one site, would gain them many admirers I suspect. Admitting we are a community shorter on numbers but healthy in terms of quality is no bad thing imo. As you have just informed me a good proportion of attendees at their recent meeting have visited here today. Why would they bother with a smaller site? Suggests a high level of quality in debate and intelligence of the average poster. They make exceptions for Gazza of course. :fish: Ps. Apologies if it looked like I was knocking things here, never my intention.- 94 replies

A team I bet on decided to lose to an inferior team who scored their winner after going down to ten men. The kind of luck only I have.
-
Early in the weekend and a ten man team has just gone on to get the win. Will spend the rest of the weekend trying to recoup my losses like the last few weekends. Waste of time me betting atm, always follows the same fecking pattern.
-
That's not a bad team. Though I am a little concerned that a man at the minute who appears to have no more than potential has already achieved superstar status, in Kyle Lafferty. Has all the tools to become a decent forward. Not aimed at you btw Craig, just a general feeling from my time browsing fan sites.

I guess he should have the same right to anonymity as the rest of us when using messageboards. When representing the RST that is a different story, but when merely passing on RST and in attempting to be helpful he has the right to anonymity imo. Particularly with the way the *******s conduct themselves with compelte disregard for the laws of this country. I wouldn't want to speak any more on other points for him. It is upto him what he decides to share and based on that how much trust and credence we put into what he says in future. Stuff about his previous position within the trust and other Rangers organisations in addition to his "allegiances" due to the split may be relevant and interesting, but whatever UCB's position on that split it may be better for him to move on with a clean slate if you like (as he may have had nothing at all to do with it) and as such digging up old ground may prevent him from getting on with the here and now and what he can contribute. I wouldn't say you are being negative there, just asking obvious questions, some of which it may or may not be possible for UCB to give full and honest answers if he is to maintain good working relations and focus within the trust. Raking over old ground may hold the trust back rather than driving it on. Particularly when, I believe, the split had fuck all to do with UCB.- 94 replies

Good point, I didn't even consider it from that point of view. I don't envy UCB his work as a volunteer just looking at this thread alone btw.- 94 replies

A bets only a good bet if it comes up. Wigan 3 - 1 Chelsea would have been bet of the century last week.

I do somewhat understand using FF to get information across. In terms of numbers it vastly outweighs Gersnet and probably all other websites. However, to use FF as the primary source for releasing information is open to criticism. Ideally I guess it would be released by RST sources first. I.e. The RST website and perhaps mass email. After which, as other websites are a good place to reach non-members and spread word of your work (and potentially attract new members); secondly posting releases onto other forums including FF and all other forums where RST members are active. Aiming to time these postings so that FF does not get preferential treatment may appease many people. I'm not overly concerned how the RST chooses to conduct its business. And perhaps it is easier to post info on FF to reach as many fans as quickly as possible. But I guess the reason for my apathy is I am no longer convinced by the work the RST aims to achieve. As I say though, I can see why it infuriates other fans who may feel marginalised or neglected.- 94 replies

I understand it to an extent. England is approximately 10 times the size of Scotland by population with the other countries even smaller. But at least some recognition of the people living in the rest of the country and what they want would be welcome.

Like his namesake? Mug them off for a load of cash as a "life long fan". Hope they play Clyde with him in the team.

The last line is a theory i've read but don't really subscribe to. Watching sky on match days though, it is a hald assed effort. 1 pundit who may or may not be a muppet. Ali Douglas who is a woeful presenter. Embarrassing, cringeworthy, stereotypical "diddly dee" type music in the programme introduction. That terrible advert with fans in club colours calling out there teams name. The guys ESPN put in the studio are far superior. And they're also not scrimping on costs by only having one pundit. I do admit though, that is all offset by hiring that cunt Scott Booth. Ps. English fans may not be interested in Scottish football. So what, fuck them. Sky should still be making the effort to make quality programmes for Scottish fans whose money they are taking.

I think I need to try harder with these wind ups. He'll be on the bench. Hopefully we wont need him as we all know that means.

I'm only stirring it up with Craig, hence the smilie. But the point does stand. Tactically, if you're going to "play off" someone the only options for the centre forward are Boyd and Lafferty. I wouldn't be massively confident with Miller nor Lafferty this weekend. Miller has been very poor recently. Lafferty is not match fit. On the other side of the coing; Miller sometimes shows up well in big matches. Boyd has previously struggled against better sides. The only two who really deserve to start are Naismith for recent form. He may not have played liek David Villa, but he's playing better than the rest. And Novo, because at least he's scored recently, it was a belter and he often plays well in big matches and against the beasts. Trouble is though, are they both too similar. Do we need to employ one of the other forwards up top with Naismith or Novo so they can compliment each others games. In any case, this post was more about looking forward to the rest of the European ties and whether Naismith should be the go to guy for one upfront rather than Miller as he has many of the same attributes as Miller but with a bit more to his game, imo. Ps. Where's MF to back me up, i'm advocating dropping Miller here.
-
That is a shame because ESPN's coverage has been better so far. More professional and they've shown a real commitment to Scottish football compared to sky who perhaps only bought the SPL rights to potentially increase subscribers for them to pump money into the EPL.
-
That means Boyd (or Lafferty up front) then? Can hardly have someone playing off Miller.
-
Pick of the bunch. :fish:

You'll need it to find any more examples to support your arguement.

I mentioned that in debating STS on FF. Got my post moderated. Criticism of the trust was not allowed. I just wondered why those in, or supportive, of the trust only supported projects for the betterment of the club if they were the one's leading said project.- 94 replies
