  1. Novo has been a bit part player. Naismith has mostly done well this season. I didn't see today's game but Miller has been one of our worst performers in his 3 previous games too. Not looking good. 9 assists. 2nd best in the league. Not a Boyd v Miller debate but just for reference: Boyd managed 5. And then 27 goals. Total "goal contributions" 32. Miller 10 goals. 9 assists. Total "goal contributions" 19.
  2. Norris your post starts off ok, then you get side tracked into the typical "it was everyone else's fault" debate that is the favourite of some of our fans who have shown more loyalty to PLG than the club (not saying that you are on of them though). The time was right for a revolution. PLG, in hindsight, proved he was not the man even if he appeared so initially. Whilst some other individuals contributed to his demise PLG was every bit as much to blame.
  3. Bang one in on Tuesday and then 4 on Sunday.
  4. Agree the prem comment is far fetched. But he is running a team near the top of the champonship. Playing in the championship is usually enough for Burley to give you a game.
  5. From a Blackpool fan.
  6. I have no idea how I got on last week tbh. Anyway, much like a Celtic title win it's tainted by cheating with the guys who had already played the first week. :fish:
  7. Boyd always has his shooting boots. Problem recently has been a lack of chacnes created by midfield which is also not helped by Boyd's own game which possibly reduces the opportunity to create. Against Sevilla I'd have no worries about his shooting boots, just about making the chances for him. And my worries would relate to his own link pay as well as the performance of the midfield.
  8. Frankie just got them all wrong last week and is trying to hide it. :fish:
  9. I think in previous seasons Boyd had earned the right to have a shot at European opposition if we were to go with two up top. Based on his recent performances he hasn't done enough to justify a game and isn't scoring. Having said that Kenny Miller, who is guaranteed to start as the lone forward, has possibly been even worse.
  10. The man oozed class, dignity and all the qualities we associate with Rangers thanks to Bill Struth. Shame he didn't appear able to manage East Stirling when it came down to it, i.e. results.
  11. Looks awesome. But who do I have to sit next to when I win?
  12. Beyond ridiculous. An incident free and fairly friendly game might look like the world's worst derby game if you looked at the stats. Ref was clueless.
  13. Well I was going to say below the top 2 as I only normally care about that. Only top 2 because if we're not first those bastards are! Bad as that is, the rest just aren't important. Neither should the tims be, but such is the nature of Scottish football that when we are in the ascendency they are on the descent and vice versa.
  14. Ha ha. My bad. Two shit teams with Queen in their name. I can't be expected to remember which is which. Below the top of the SPL I rarely no what is going on. Had to go on the BBC website before writing the preview to confirm they were division 1 and was shocked at how high up they were.
  15. For what seems like the first time in years we are getting good draws. Queens Park was good, Dundee is excellent (in comparison to possibilities). We need to start taking advantage of that though.
  16. I believe BD to be correct. Though I can't remember the difference between this and the infamous Jose Mourinho in the washing hamper incident.
  17. Agree with Madjid. Alexander made a cracking save from the overhead kick.
  18. Walter pretty much said Alexander will start earlier in the week.
  19. I went for Davis btw. Boogie, Mendes and Thomson are all big name players they've taken off us so far this season. I guess they decided it's Davis turn next.
  20. I don't know the ref for tonight but given the way they've begun the season officiating our games I don't think it matters. Who will be the recipient of a bizarre sending off tonight? If you're feeling particularly psychic give the method. E.g. 2 yellows for innocuous challenge. Somewhat harsh red for late tackle early in the match Or two yellows for dissent which normally goes unpunished.
  21. Some of the old buggers on here's memories aren't what they should be though, so just reminding them.
  22. Just to echo some of Frankie's points (somewhat). I was pleased to see the starting line up as I thought Walter was learning from previous years, particularly in consideration of our smaller squad this year, that he must use his squad to the full extent. A match at Rugby Park against a Killie side short on form and who have only beat the Old Firm a combined 4 times since the inception of the current SPL format was surely ideal opportunity to ring the changes. I had envisioned a midfield consisting of Premiership quality like Davis and Mendes could dominate their Killie counterparts allowing Naismith and Novo to play up closer to Boyd and that rather than having no strike partners as a lone forward he would in fact have two. Our midfield did not control the game. Novo and Naismith did not get up with Boyd and left him isolated. And Boyd himself didn't turn up. It may be hard to blame Boyd solely though as we went for a forward feted for playing the lone striker role with wildly different attributes in pace and workrate and yet we were equally as ineffectual. That suggests that there was something more wrong with the line up than merely Boyd as the target man. It didn't matter the forward or his attributes, we were still very poor. As Frankie also mentions, it appears this is down to an attitude problem as their is no reason why Davis, Mendes and Fleck, supported by Novo and Naismith should not have been running riot over Killie. I had hoped Motherwell would be the kick up the arse needed to make our players realise they have to turn up 100% to winning the battle before they can try and win the game and not just expect the opposition to roll over. Surely two such performances and a rocket up the arse from Walter will make them realise it now.
  23. Sex education?
  24. Replaced at Charlton by Dailly.
  25. No (as you well know ). They got rid of the jimmies because they're known Rangers men and the sheep fan base is bitter. Fuck em though. Stuck with a mhankie manager and they wont realise or admit how good they had it.
