  1. Does that mean Kris Boyd must play.:fish: The former Killie front line to dismantle the ****s?
  2. A Celtic view for Celtic fans by a Celtic minded journalist. He still maintains our battle is for third place? Yes we currently sit in a poor position. But we took a point in Germany. Assuming as most would that Sevilla will romp the group that gives us the advantage over our challengers for 2nd place. Then yes we got pumped this midweek. But again assuming Sevilla will take near or maximum points off the rest, with the Germans drawing in Romania it is again advantage us assuming we can in fact take advantage in our fixture in Romania. If we can take 4 or 6 points off a double header with the bottom seeds and Sevilla do the same with the Germans then suddenly we are favourites for the 2nd last 16 spot with a home game against Stuttgart to potentially decide it. He goes on to say that victory over Celtic will merely quell the grumbling of the fans til the next champions league defeat. Overly negative again. What about his team. Not looking too impressive in Europe so far are they? Sure they hold a good advantage in the league, but should we take the win we are capable of the gaps down to one point and their piss poor start in Europe will come under more scrutiny. Mowbray has slightly more rope to play with atm due to a better start in the league. But as soon as we peg them back any good will will be forgotten and his European performances will come under greater scrutiny. They are struggling every bit as much as us.
  3. Which clubs sack succesful managers and go on to greater success?
  4. You tell him Fraser. :box:
  5. Thomson doesn't get called up when he should and now arguably is called up when he shouldn't be imo. Sounds like Adam is well worth his call. Fox straight in as soon as he signed for Celtic basically? Not have to earn his call up like Thomson, Hutton, Adam etc?
  6. No being smart, just wondering, has Riordan been playing that well?
  7. Looked like 1 "crew" were all wearing white gloves. But how the fuck you tell that apart in the melee I dunno?
  8. Sorry i've been having a bad 24 hours or so. We're talking in generalisations here. I guess there are many who don't attend and it is through choice. But i'd also maintain that the vast majority who leave early don't have honourable reasons and it is those fans who annoy me.
  9. When I saw this post last night I wondered why you'd said the above but now realise it was due to the ref's comments on why he never gave it. No slip:
  10. Your post is bollocks because it's based on two fallacies. 1 - You're talking about finance and geography making it a choice not to go. For me and many others it's not a choice, it simply makes it an impossibility. 2 - Clearly we're not referring to those with exceptional circumstances or who had it taken out of their hands. That though will no doubt account for a very small proportion. You talk about arrogance and then post that which is one of the most pompous posts i've seen. If I had a job that meant I could attend games. And I dont mean some millionaire job but a job that leaves me enough money after essential spends to attend the football I would go and I would stay for 90-minutes. And if I didn't i'd expect to be slated for it. Pisses me off that those who are able to go can be so blase about their support.
  11. Hope you're right. It's not about shutting people on here up (though I know what you mean), it's about getting Rangers back to where we belong and shutting the Tims up. :spl:
  12. I don't want to dwell on last night too much longer. It's too frustrating. But that said we can't deny it was ultimately a bad result (in terms of how it looks on our record if not in absolute terms of it's effect on our European ambitions). If ever we wanted to pick a game to get our season back on track after a shocking run of results, an opportunity to get the weight of the support behind us, we could not pick a better game than an Old Firm match at Ibrox. The other side of that coin is that should we lose it could put a serious dent in our season and perhaps stop us before we even get going. However, you can not approach sport like that. You cannot duck challenges. You cannot be motivated by a fear of failure. Rather it is the desire to succeed that should be motivating the Rangers. Last year we proved we were the best side in the country by securing a leageue championship and cup double. By surrending top spot and falling 4 points off the pace this early on we have already somewhat surrendered that status. After this shocking run of form with only a victory over lowly Queen of the South in the month of September, it is time for our players to show us what they are made of. To demonstrate that they really are top dogs in Scotland. To show that a small amount of success has not dampened their desire for more, not sated their competitive desires. McGregor is in form. Bougherra is the best footballer in the country and is one man who is never beaten. Who never knows when to quit. Many of the rest of the team may have capitulated after Sevilla's first, but this weekend they are up against far inferior opposition than the Spanish outfit. Play like we did in the first 50-60 minutes. Avoid being screwed over by the officials and I am confident we will emerge victorious. One thing you can guarantee about an Old Firm game is that the form book goes out the window, and for us that may be a good thing. Failure to secure victory and not even I would be able to put a positive spin on it. Smith and the players have again led us to a position where we must win this Old Firm match. Otherwise we will be staring at a 7 point deficit early in the season. The squad know what they have to do, no excuses.
  13. Apparently because some people are fortuante enough in life, in terms of principally finance and perhaps other issues such as geography and employment, that they can attend games that gives them carte blanche to act in a manner unbefitting of Rangers. In fact scratch that. That sort of behaviour is not acceptable at Aberdeen or even a highland league club. We as fans are more used to success than the vast majority. So when it's not going our way we just fuck off early? Too many glory supporters in the stands and on this board by the look of it. Edit: If you don't want to be treated like a customer, don't act like one!
  14. If you think everyone can behave how they wish at the football then by the same token surely we are equally free to comment on that behaviour? You ask us to concentrate on the team but not those who can't be bothered to stay. That is not the Rangers way. Stick your ire and your false outrage up your arse.
  15. Was it pish. Fair result. Not a fair scoreline. How can you talk about fairness when they should have played more than half the game with 10 men.
  16. Aye, I try not to mention it too often as I probably seem like their best advert as it is. Someone said pretty much the same thing as you have here and got slated for about 20-odd posts before it got pulled. As I was trying to post a response in agreement with the OP it said "invalid thread specified" so assumed that was it gone. Edit: Just seen he's posted it again, but it's been pulled again.
  17. My comment about it being a "freak result" was meant to signify that I don't think Sevilla were 3/4 goals better than us tonight. Quite agree, can't let a freak results affect our preparation for Sunday. Play like that against the mhankies, don't get handicapped by the officials (fuck me i'm looking for parity from the Scottish Ref's) and I can only see us winning.
  18. I would be comfortable with Boogie taking a penalty. There is a man who doesn't shy away from responsibility. Quite the opposite. In fact with Boyd and Novo off the field I could imagine him blitzing through from the back to grab the ball for the penalty. Rothen as another seasoned professional player I would imagine would be confident in stepping up.
  19. This same thread got pulled on another website. Why? Quite right imo. SUpporting your team is about the good and the bad. In fact i've got more respect for those who stick with it through the bad. Not accept or tolerate the bad, but their loyalty and commitment doesn't waiver. If you're only there through the good times you're no fan at all imo. Never left a game early. Never will. *Exceptional circumstances excepted.*
  20. Did Naisy take Killie's pens after Boyd left? If not the striker i'm not sure tbh.
  21. 4-1 at home is a shocker. But I don't think that was a 4-1 game. We were arguably the better team for the first hour, even up to their second goal. We were unlucky not to go into the interval ahead. The referee didn't give a stonewall pen and if he did the defender had to walk. He then didn't give a corner when only 2 Sevilla players went up for the header to put the ball out. From the resulting passage of play Sevilla went right up the other end and got an imaginary freekick from which they scored. Yes we were not sharp enough at their freekick. We were asleep but from an attacking point of view it was a clever freekick. For the next 5-10 minutes we started to press again but got hit with a sucker punch for the killer second. After which we fell apart/got picked apart on the break. There's no way Sevilla were 3 or 4 goals better than us. Wee Nacho is the first player to breach their reargaurd in about 4/5 games. Football can be a funny old game at times and there is no way that scoreline reflected the match. A complete freak result. We upped our game big time and more than matched the 3rd best team in Spain and one of the best teams in Europe. But you don't always get what you deserve. Or as often seems the case with Rangers, you rarely get what you deserve. That wasn't a Rangers in Europe performance of 2007/8. Yes it was a game plan forged on defensive solidity but with Naismith as the front man I thought we looked more potent up front with a lone striker. The scoreline looks a lot worse than the game was and I think we need to bear that in mind. Play like that against the Tims, don't get mugged off by shocking officiating and we wont come away with anything less than 3 points. :spl:
  22. Thats a sore one mate.
  23. Liverpool draw no bet on my coupon tonight. Though managed to recoup my £120 loss from the weekend today.
  24. Wrote this before the Aberdeen game but couldn't get it posted right on the main site before it. Given an impotent attacking display it's still relevant though.
