Breaking News: Ferguson Transfer Listed and McGregor suspended
Super_Ally replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Fans backing their manager and team over a couple of individual players. Like most woudl advocate for Rangers. Agree with the rest though, pretty much. -
7 replies and no one said Rangers?

Breaking News: Ferguson Transfer Listed and McGregor suspended

Exactly Ian. Those fans who talk about our long term future obviously can't grasp that no league title, 4iar, no CL football, no guaranteed £10mil plus whilst Celtic cream in that and all the t.v. money means we will unlikely be competing with them again for many years. Nevermind just this one. -
Breaking News: Ferguson Transfer Listed and McGregor suspended

Strachan, Lennon and McManus will be laughing their asses off at this news. -
That's what I was trying to say, quite right to question and admonsih where criticism is due. Sorry that came across wrong. Probably seemed a bit preachy or pompous even.
-
Good news and no excuses for the Falkirk game.
-
Doesn't make it right, but should still be accurate when criticising them. Edit: Meant it didn't make the players action's right.

As much as he is one of the biggest cocks in British football atm, I liked his interview that was repeatedly show on SSN yesterday. Saying how away teams must love playing Wales, coming to a lovely city, a lovely stadium that will be empty so little pressure. Went on to praise the N.I fans. Basically trying to embarrass the Welsh fans to turn up and support the team properly. Sometimes I think it's needed.

Pete unless I read it wrong I believe the session started at 4 or 5 a.m. as that is when they arrived back at the Hotel from the Holland game. Though to still be there at 11 a.m. does seem like a bit much to me. But was it necessarily a non-stop 6 hour drinking binge?
-
A spokesman for a CSC surely? Whilst I would still not want the players behaving like this, will those fans who get their knickers in a twist over players having a drink or eating the odd bad meal quit that after seeing the way Hutton played? What is it with Burley though: Boyd. Broadfoot. McGregor and Ferguson. Plus the numerous other stupid things he has done dealing with the media, in terms of tactics and selections and in ruining the squad morale. I wanted shot of him after Norway and still do.
-
I think ideally and realistically we should be aiming to produce 2 to 3 players to move up from the youth teams to the first team squad every season. I'm pretty sure I was told this was the aim of the Falkirk Academy, even if they didn't quite achieve it due to the talent available to them each individual season.

Gersnet Examines RFC Player of the Year Nominees
Super_Ally replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Pretty much agree with the assessment of each player and the arguement that at this stage it is Bougherra's award to lose. Only sparkling displays in each of the remaining games from Pedro Mendes could see him take the award. Especially if he can perform against Celtic as he did in the 4-2, chipping in with a goal. That's not to say I think he's currently the second placed choice for the award. Just a realisation of the fact that an attack minded player of his ilk will more easily catch the average fans eye. I still only see Boogie winning POTY. -
Was he not also Souness' captain at Blackburn? I'm not defending him here btw. It fully looks like he was in the wrong. But to use this example to re-write history is BS in my opinion.

One wonders who would get the blame for PLG being incompetent if there wasn't the convenient excuse of Barry Ferguson?
-
Yep, you're quite correct. A lot of credit to McCormack tonight. My post was pointing out the differences between the last game and this one as I know our media and I know it wont be long before they're using the two games to demonstrate why we;'re "better off without Fergie". I should have had point 3, but it would have been directly related to my first point. McCormack was motm for us tonight, as opposed to merely one of the best of a bad bunch on Saturday. Against weaker opposition it was easier for him to shine. That's not to do him down. As I say, my motm. Hutton a close second and would not argue with anyone who reversed that.
-
Whilst people may try and spin in that we're better off without Ferguson and point to this result and performance compared to the last there were two things that made the difference and has fuck all to do with Fergie: 1) Iceland are awful. Holland are top quality. 2) Alan Hutton.

5-2 win in the end. Flattered the Albanians too. Their goals were two long range efforts as well. Though their first was from Hyka (sp) who is highly rated and it's easy to see why. Lennon played well. And Fleck was dangerous when he came on. Put in a few good balls. The fourth came from a corner after Fleck worked hard to keep the ball on when he had no right to. He won a freekick and from that we won a corner that we scored from. 5th was a great cheeky wee flick from McGinn, St Mirren Midfielder who came on as sub for McDonald. Arfield was impressive again. Linked well with Fleck when he was on.

3-0 early in the second. Goodwillie got the first. Maguire the second. Shinnie scored the third with a decent strike after the keeper parried from Maguire (I think).

Scotland chop looming for under-fire Allan McGregor
Super_Ally replied to pete's topic in Rangers Chat
Both on the bench? Fucking daft from Burley. Have the balls to drop them completely if that's what you think they deserve. Or deal with it with a different disciplinary measure. This half way house is a nonsense. -
Cheers Cammy. Anyone have the teams?

I've got my cursor hovering over the groan button in anticipation.

Scotland: Holland review/Iceland Preview
Super_Ally replied to Super_Ally's topic in General Football Chat
Think it's safe to say my predicted team is wrong? Ferguson out might mean persisting with Teale now. -
I'm pissed at Barry right now for such idiotic behaviour, but should he somehow bring home the league flag I wont give a fuck. Burley threw away our slim chances of qualification with a humbling defeat to Macedonia and in bringing on Iwelumo/Fletcher ahead of Boyd.
-
I'm hoping for the same scoreline again. And hopefully a longer run out for Fleck with Loy and Shinnie.
