Spoke to an old flat mate today, Sheepie, and he said McGhee.

Cheers Jon. I plan on seeing it too, but dunno if i'll pay for it.
-
I've heard the tune before and quite like it (not listened to this version yet, couldn't disturb everyone with that blaring right now). Could well work in that respect.
-
Terrace chants that tend to be popular are usually a bit quicker. It's why "Derry's Grace" is never likely to be sung by the whole support at a game (again).
-
They buy up youngsters but dnt necessarily play them. Would rot in their reserves (instead of ours) or go out on loan.
-
I like the look of the Damned United too. I here it's the same guys who done Forst:Nixon with the guy playing Cloughie also playing a lead in that (forget which) one. Not seen Frost:Nixon but heard it was good too. Shame I missed the documentary last night.

Jon/UCF are your sources reliable? Just like to know where these stories come from.

At the weekend Birmingham and Reading drew whilst Wolves won. Wolves should go up. If Reading win their game in hand they'd be a point behind Birmingham in 2nd. Birmingham are home to Wolves next weekend. Whilst Reading are away to Coventry. Could be a good weekend for Reading. They'll at least make the playoffs. Just hoping they don't get automatic promotion and make a balls of the play offs.

I'm still not convinced. It's just a case of he's the youngster with the most first team appearances. (Would be insulting to give Davis YPOTY imo).
-
That's flawed in the same way as the new F1 system though. Consistency over an entire season rather then being the best in half a dozen games. As you correctly point out, Bougherra is the obvious choice. Hadn't really considered Lafferty for YPOTY. Guess he wins that by default. I.e. No real competition.
-
Question has been answered I think. Can be a bit confusing sometimes with what is/isn't allowed so if anyone is unsure in future just pm any online admin before posting.
-
Bougherra only choice for POTY. As Gav says, hard to pick a YPOTY unless you've been to their games as so few have played mnay games in the first XI.
-
Unlikely though that seems.

Lol, did he ever hold the full title though? Or was it caretaker manager etc? :box:

Thoughts from a visit to the Bernabeu

30 Euros a ticket, though unsure if that goes up for big games. I think they did go upto over 100 euros for that game, but obviously you can still get tickets at a reasonable price. I forgot teams in Spain are usually more than just a football team til you mentioned it Cammy. Watched a lot of their indoor 5-a-side teams on the tv there. They don't have walsl to play off so it's much faster and more technical. -
That's loyalty you can't buy.

Shame he seems to be unable to recpapture his pre-injury form.

Elmander is starting to look overrated now he's at Bolton isnit he. So your £300k short of Elmander and the next one down on your list is Sebo? IS there no in between. From Swedish international to Footballing Impostor? It's not all black and white. Sure you can point fingers at Bain, Murray even Ferguson. But at the end of the day, it all amounts to excuses. The disgusting disregard that PLG showed the Rangers job should see him have far fewer supporters. His arrogant approach to managing in Scotland and his woeful inability to even accept or fix the obvious problems in his squad leaves me baffled as to why such an incompetent (at Rangers) manager gets a relatively easy ride. Right idea. Wrong man.

Thanks for the pics Cammy. The trophy room must be some site. Hopefully when my Dad gets his home PC fixed he can send me the photos from his camera, doubt he'll get away with that at work. The other thing with the tickets is that you just scan a bar code at the turnstiles. No people to check tickets. There are security guards making sure it is all orderly. -
Good, means he can't play. He's shite and always a risk for a red card when playing for the national team (Celtic players don't get cards in the SPL ) as he just runs around kicking everyone.
-
The point Cal was responding too was that PLG was not backed in the same manner as Smith. It is not that Smith was backed to a greater extent but that he could spend more because he brought more it (perhaps indirectly) through player sales. He is correct in that. You are correct in that he should have spent more wisely, but Calscot was just pointing out another one of the excuses for PLG does not stand up to scrutiny.

If Robben plays like he did against Almeria it will be an easy day the office for the young scot.

Coincidentally just noticed a thread on FF about this. Reminded me of a few things: Up in the top tiers it is very, very steep! Madrid have a Subway loyal too. Loads of fans streaming out at 85 mins. At the stadium there is an alert tone and then goals scored around the country are flashed up. There was some cheering of Getafe goals. A bit odd considering they are almost a local rival. Smaller than Atletico and not from Madrid exactly, but could maybe be compared to say Partick Thistle in many ways in terms of Glasgow rivalry. Would anyone cheer a Thistle goal if notified when at Ibrox? Ps: Hope you don;t mind the link Frankie, his review puts mine to shame. Maybe my Dad will send me his photos soon. -
I think he's been called up because he plays for Rangers. I rate Whittaker. I think he was very Hutton-esque before we bought him. His confidence is shot right now though. He played reasonably well in a recent game, but surely it needs a run of games playing well to get into the national squad. I'm not sure there are better alternatives, but maybe a so called lesser player who has been playing week in week out for say Aberdeen of Dundee United is more deserving. Its like when England squads are made up of big 4 players regardless of form/ability.

Cammy that's the third time i've been to Madrid to visit my dad. Only spent approx 24 hours in Barca when we played them. So all I really saw of Barcelona was the Nou Camp and the big Plaza (forget the name) where most of the Bears were based. As my Dad knew Madrid quite well each time I was out there I got to see a lot more of the city. The various tourist attractions, Palace Real (I think that's the right name), Plaza Mayor, the large Park that used to be for the Royal Family alone. So with more time and a tour guide who knew where to go I was more impressed by Madrid. Maybe based on the above i'm not the best judge then, but Madrid seemed like the older more culture rich city. Kind of the same way I think of Glasgow(Barcelona) and Edinburgh(Madrid). Though in Scotland I prefer Glasgow, in Spain - Madrid. If that makes sense. So like you I prefer Madrid as you say, there's more to see. Maybe other posters will have different views? Unfortunately didn't manage to do the tour. Disappointed seeing your comments as I doubt I will get to now. BD - to be honest, no, there wasn't any real aggression. The Almeria fans amongst the far greater numbers of Real fans openly cheered and supported their team. When the larger section of Almeria fans started their songs and chants the smaller pockets joined in without being intimidated. The Real fans responded by blowing those annoying horns to drown out the Almeria fans. Much like when we boo to drown out the "wee teams" songs. I'd prefer it if we and the Real fans sang our own songs to drown them out instead, a better response imo. My Dad, my wee brother and myself all commented on the lack of segregation as we found it odd. My dad discussed it with his work colleagues when he was back in today and it's not unusual. Though maybe that changes for Atletico or Barca.
