  1. BB: First two were great strikes, first was a rocket, second for technique. Not me Craig, i'm not that fat!! Lol. And we were much higher up. Thought of something else regarding the game. My Dad bought the tickets online throught a bank, Caixa I think. 30 Euros, high up, but gives you a better view in terms of watching the tactics and flow of the game. Roasting in the sun . The bank thing though. Could Rangers do something similar? Went to and ATM and got the tickets there . Bizarre but great idea. Although according to the site there were only a handful of tickets in each section left and that was crap, quite a few empty chairs.
  2. Well i'm at least familiar with the name, but a bit before my time. Fuck him anyway, they've not won it yet.
  3. This will just be random thoughts as they occur to me, so no structure, sorry. Saw the 3-0 victory over Almeria. Fans outside the ground in the nearby streets all drinking alcohol they brought with them. Couldn't get away with that in Britain. One mad guy topless but with an apron carving a pig with huge sword-like knife literally yards from the stadium. Insane. Real fans are as bad as fans of any big team, outsung by the smaller away fans. Their "ultras" section were not heard until they went 2 up in the second half. The Santiago Bernabeu is an imposing building, inside and out. Was sat up in the heavens, one tier from the top. This may account for why it seemed more impressive than the Camp Nou as I was in the bottom tier for the game with Rangers the other year. Didn't seem to be any segregation. A large section of Almeria fans up behind me to my left but plenty elsewhere. We seemed to be in the tourist section if you like. A mix of away fans, randoms like me and my family and home fans who probably aren't season ticket holders/regulars. Madrid come out to some god awful club song. Btw only shirts I saw in Madrid the whole time I was away were 1 Man U (plus 2 tracksuit tops) a couple Arsenal, 2 West Ham both at the match (one a Spaniard though) and another Spaniard in a Rangers shirt the day before the game . From the PLG season. Oh and a Spurs fan in an Irish bar on Satuday trying to get their game. Obviously a fair number of Spanish teams but thought that wasn't worth a mention. Sat in the 2 rows in front of me were fans who travel to see a team every March with the club/year printed on the back: 2005 Besiktas 2006 Sivsypor or something some Turkish mob anyway. 2007 Barcelona 2008 Roma 2009 Real Madrid Had a big Holland flag with Den Bosch on it. Were awfully amused at Spanish pronunciations when stadium announcer called Huntelaar's name after his goals. Robben had two good runs, one of which led to the third goal but he should have finished it himself, but was otherwise crap and lazy. Marcello scored the first a well struck shot and had another deflected, but was otherwise crap. Sloppy passing. Sneijder was poor too. Raul, Huntelaar and Pepe impressed. Miguel Torres came on for Heinze when the game was won and was strong in the challenge. Is he a lot younger than the Argentine? Would be a ready made replacement. My Dad moves to Seville in the next month or so, so hope to get to their ground. If anything occurs to me that i've missed out i'll reply to this thread.
  4. Smith by an absolute donkey dick's length. Even if Smith had proven to be a mistake that does not mean we go back to the previous even bigger mistake. Irrespective of his performance at PSG which means fuck all to us, PLG was the absolute worst Rangers manager by some stretch. Whatever excuses people want to make for the man, he was criminally incompetent and if players showed the same lack of preparation for their role they would rightly be lambasted. I pity anyone who still yearns for Le Flop, but it also ires me to regularly read the misty eyed bullshit about him on Rangers forums. I see absolutely no basis for the blind faith "but he'll come good" arguements you regularly read.
  5. Not read the rest of this thread but my opinion is good manager, arsehole of a man.
  6. Hopefully better players than Martin/Bardsley.
  7. Does WHittaker deserve a call up?
  8. Anyone emailed BBC or the Times to ask if they wil lbe reporting this. DOn't have time right now, about to leave for Madrid.
  9. Teams going under weakens the SPL, weakens Scottish football and could weaken Rangers. No problem with any Irish teams going to the wall though.
  10. I don't really have an issue with Aberdeen at all. Old flat mate was one of them and decent enough. Prob too young, and lived most my life to far away to be exposed to their bs. Sure on match days between the teams they wind me up, but they're so inconsequential that the other 361 days out the year they don't bother me in the slightest. My lack of offence at them is probably also a reflection of the fact that i've never visited the sheep pen.
  11. Similar to last year, papped out the cup by lower league opposition. WOuld've been favourite in their semi too right? Joke team.
  12. And for that you have to be respected. Shame you'll be in the minority at Ibrox come the Hearts game.
  13. There's never any guarantees in football. Helicopter Sunday. 99 Champions League Final. Liverpools win over AC Milan in the same comp, winning from 3-0 down. Did they have a hope? And us winnning this league title wouldn't even merit mention as a comeback in that company.
  14. We've picked up 4 more than them since January. Same again between now and the end of the season. I'm not saying we're favourites, but like Cal I wish everyone wouldn't give up the fight. Even if you think the players have. Is that how we measure our support now? I don't think the players are trying so why should I? It's one of the few occassions where I admire the fans of the diddy teams. They support their team through the bad and the good.
  15. ICT 0-0 A Queens Park 2-1 H Scottish Cup Rangers 0-0 H Motherwell 1-1 A St Mirren 7-0 H Killie 2-1 A St Mirren 1-0 A Rangers 2-0 N Co-op Hardly the form of some unstoppable force that we should all give up hope. Think Cal has good reason to hold some hope. Yes it will be difficult, they hold the advantage. Both sides are poor. We've had what 2 poor results in the same period; this weekend and ICT.
  16. Aye, you've seen it so many times before after a couple of lines you know where it's going. Overtake the tims in the title race and stay there and i'll be more inclined to listen. Starting with Hearts this weekend.
  17. Yeh, mate it's chicken or the egg. And it should come from the players first! They're the one's who are paid to be there, we're the one's (well not me right now, but the rest of the fans) who are paying for the privelege. It's upto the players to get the fans on side. That's how it should be. But what's more important to the fans, your sense of how it should be or the success of your team. If the fans wont inspire the players, then we need to inspire them.
  18. While we need to be realistic about our situation, unrelenting negativity from the stands will pervade throughout the team and squad on match days. A realistic awareness of the challenges ahead, whilst a positive support of the team on matchdays within the ground is what is needed.
  19. Reading won 1-0 away tonight. Hopefully it doesn't last.
  20. Have to agree again, fully, mate.
  21. I'm not comparing them at all. and i'm asking that fans who are rightly pissed at what happened this weekend don't try and compare them or tarnish that run either. It was undoubtedly lucky, but we played to our strengths and did what we had to to win. That is what sporting competition is about afterall.
  22. Not read that in full. Less words, more action please.
  23. Agree, anyone who thinks a chairman would sack a manager who took his team to its first European final in decades, won both cups and lost out the league in the circumstances we did, would then sack the manager for a disastrous European exit is deluded. Whether you agree with it or not I just don't see any club sacking their manager under those circumstances.
  24. I've only ever collected a winning bet about 4 times from a real bricks and motar bookies. But I do about 99.9% of gambling online. Better odds and easier to "research" your bet.
  25. Just a tenner today. Enjoy Mr Bet365 ya bassa.
