Mate, I completely agree with that, MH won't be paid for nothing and I do appreciate a lot of the dirty work they do goes unnoticed. To be fair, I think I should have mentioned that in the article.

Welcome to the forum guys!

Those things can be argued against though. Their stadium is bigger but not better IMO. Our average attendances - home and away -are better. Their management team are pretty much untested in a like-for-like situation domestically. There are many things I admire about the way Celtic is run as a club but there's a difference between pointing out areas of improvement and making subjective generalisations for effect!

Orlit Enterprises to seek winding up order against Rangers
Frankie replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
To be fair the club didn't say they had settled it yesterday either but I'll look forward to a proper solution over the next day or two hopefully. -
Like I said in the article, I'm not expecting a 24/7 emergency RFC response team - just an acknowledgement from the club that there is a problem and they are genuinely dealing with it. The club didn't respond to this issue within 24 hours. The initial claims were made early in the week so the club could easily have responded then - even unofficially by leaking a response to our own friendly network of bloggers or journalists. As I said yesterday in the Orlit thread, if you can't beat them - join them! Remember we pay upwards of £300K per annum on PR. I'm not always convinced we're getting a good return on that front.

Orlit Enterprises to seek winding up order against Rangers

Thomson is suggesting that Orlit have not reached a settlement over the debt. -
With todayâ??s front page news that an Asian finance firm were considering seeking a winding-up order against the club for non-payment of alleged services, the recurring debate about Rangersâ?? PR performance has again raised its somewhat ugly head. Most of our online communities were aware of the rumour surrounding the court petition which had started on one of the more popular Celtic-supporting blogs. However, it wasnâ??t until the always mischief-making Alex Thomson ran with the story that the club took the issue seriously enough to warrant comment. They reacted yesterday afternoon with a typically bullish statement that suggested the sums sought were â??insignificantâ?? and agreement had been reached with Orlit Financial Services â??subject to the necessary paperworkâ??. Fair enough but what was perhaps most interesting was that the club went on to conclude that the matter was â??unworthy of further commentâ?? â?? clearly an abrupt dismissal of an issue that many fans remain concerned about. Actually, I would like to hear what CG thinks of the Assembly's role at the club. They seem to be right on the periphery of things nowadays so that must be a concern for them.

I'm sorry to hear Ross broke the boycott despite his organisation's earlier comments but at least he's had to decency to accept he was wrong and resign. We move on.

Yes, we do. -

Like I say, we don't have to respond officially all of the time. However, if we play the same game as our enemies then maybe we'll start to win a few battles. -

Like it or not mad Phil gets the odd selected scoop from people who enjoy causing us problems. While I'd generally agree we should not dance to their tune, occasionally it's worth locking the stable door before the horse bolts. The club could even have leaked their answer in a similar way. If you can't beat them... -

Club will need to clarify this and should have done so before now. -

He generally is but there's also no doubt that some informed people use him as their leak of choice. -
They're due £400K according to our friends at C4 news...

Here's a few: 1. Can Mr Green explain the payment system for directors (including himself)? It seems very generous - more so when we consider the share options and bonuses. 2. In addition, how does the share dividend work? How often, how much and how will it affect the profit margin of the club going forward? 3. Rangers fans were not actually being given the opportunity to buy shares in the club but a new holding company. Can he make this reasons for this completely clear? 4. It could be said the institutional investors are taking the place of a bank in terms of funding our club. What happens when these people want to call in their investment? 5. Can Mr Green outline the improvements to the stadium/landbank the funds will be used for?

I'd fancy the fact we were getting both on a free made their weekly wage a bit more affordable. Unfortunately, their performances so far haven't made them value for money but hopefully they'll improve as we go through the leagues and make their wages look a bit more attractive. PS: Don't look at the bonuses though if Imran's structure is anything to go by...

1. I still expected a decent standard of player as I knew it would be risky not to - both in terms of getting people through the door and winning SFL3 and SFL2. 2. Yes it is but we've all seen how expectant our fans are in such competitions. Would we have been happy with an even worse performance in these matches? 3. We could have but there's a difference between being a senior player in a lower division to that of the SPL. Expectations are completely different. 4. The embargo isn't lifted until after season 1 and part of season 2. That's quite a long period to try and settle players in. 5. Perhaps it was (as FS says we definitely pay too much money in wages) but I can understand the reasons when one considers the risks involved. All I'm saying is, it isn't as simple as saying we could and should have won SFL3 at half the budget. There are too many variables involved to say that. IMHO of course!

I'd imagine there were a few reasons for spending a fair amount on new players: 1. To ensure renewals remained high. 2. To try and compete in the domestic cups. 3. To fill the positions of senior players who left. 4. To try and build a team for the future now. 5. To make certain of quick promotion. Now, it could be argued half of that money would have secured all the above but if players like Sandaza, Black and Shiels (all pretty impressive at their previous clubs) have struggled with expectations here, how about players of (supposed) lesser quality? Until we know more about the finances and budget, we'll struggle to get a definitive answer.

I don't think we're going bust but I would like some genuine indication of where our finances are right now and our budget/plans for getting back to the top league. By and large Green is clever enough to say the right things at the right time to the right people but in many ways I remain sceptical. That's perhaps unfair given he stepped up to buy the club while delivering a successful IPO but after SDM and Whyte, I'm going to be suspicious of any owner for a long while yet.

As I posted earlier, Leggo wasn't slow in slagging off two bears from another forum and seems keen to make slurs about other supporters as well. The criticism of 'Buster' and 'SDF' seemed particular churlish and bizarre even if the points about Blyth may have been slightly more valid/topical. I think he'd be better off trying to remain neutral in that respect but I guess he has as much right as anyone else to talk about what he wants.

Time can be as much an enemy as a friend. To be fair, I was never expecting overnight miracles from Green, McCoist or any player but what I do look for is clear leadership. I'm not convinced we have that but sincerely hope I'm wrong. I guess one thing we will need during this journey is patience though so perhaps we should take a step back sometimes.

All four have shown signs of their potential but have struggled for one reason or another for consistency. Those guys are good players and can take us back to the top league but it's up to the manager to get the best from them. I really don't understand why Templeton was moved from playing a more central 'free' role to the wing where he seems less effective. In saying that, over the last few games he seems to want to showboat instead of concentrating on beating his man properly. Shiels has been the biggest disappointment for me and the 'hole' is also arguably his favoured position which makes it a difficult selection process for the manager.

A point of order, sir. I've actually always maintained that Wallace is actually pretty average and over-rated by some. I think he's a decent player going forward (though his final ball can be poor) but defensively he can struggle (though usually covers well). I think it is a valid point to ask if players can step up from SFL3 to play well at a higher level. Perhaps for the odd one-off game yes but a decent calibre of opposition will expose you more often than not.
