    That's what I mean. Surely you don't get to the stage of due diligence and meetings with oversight committees unless you've proven yourself credible - both financially and legally.

    Is there a reason why someone would be deliberately vague about such stuff? Why would people go to such lengths and costs if they weren't serious about doing business with MIH?

    The guy's background does appear difficult to decipher but he's certainly persuaded enough people that he's genuine so us proles will just have to be patient until the club comment further (which apparently will happen sooner rather than later). All the signals are that this deal will be going ahead.

    I don't particularly fancy McCoist as manager but he has had ~5 years experience of working 'under' Walter so if he's not ready now, then he may never be. The issue may be determined more by how successful we are this season than anything else.

    I think even if Whyte wanted a new manager, then he'd keep it to himself for the time being. McCoist may well still be his preferred candidate for continuity reasons but if we don't win the league, that position may well change.

    McCoist is the cheap option - simple. However, he's had 3 years now under Smith so if he's not ready for such a job next summer, he never will be.

    For players under 24, other clubs have to pay compensation for their 'training/academy' costs if they buy players... I doubt it will be too much though and a tribunal will have to sit in judgement.
