GAv: McGregor was daft and I, for one, am sick of his aggressiveness in such situations. Any time he goes for balls near opposition players he's up to something; he did something similar at Ibrox the other week. Thus, once again, the point here is arguably not this challenge (surely a booking would be enough anyway?) but the imbalance; firstly with regard the media coverage and secondly the decision to act retrospectively.

Was Scott Brown punished for his kick the other week when he injured himself?

Apparently the SFA are meeting in Prague to hand our 'keeper said red card for the kick out at Maguire. Bizarre! http://www.dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/view/204275/Gers-keeper-facing-SFA-ban/

Of course the media want to make money and I don't have a problem with that. However, that doesn't explain the clear imbalance in many issues - particularly the anti-sectarianism debate.

Nobody is being paranoid here. The facts speak for themselves. Sure, some people overplay the anti-Rangers media card on some issues which can detract from the more obvious examples of imbalance but while fans of other clubs may also complain, I don't think they have solid examples which we can point to in recent times. Time and time again Rangers are treated differently from others in the media. There's nothing paranoid about pointing this out.

Aye, I remember that. I wonder how those who feel there is no bias in the media square that circle?

As usual a wee Aberdeen paper has to show the main media how to report properly on the subject... http://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/Article.aspx/1952466

Apparently it is the French club's fault so hopefully we'll see this resolved by next week at the latest...

Of course there was malice. He was well behind Jelavic and had no chance to win the ball. As such, his 'tackle' was late, pre-meditated, dangerous and worthy of a red card in my opinion. I hope Jelavic refuses this faux apology.

Yeah, the difference in coverage really is quite interesting when one juxtaposes it with the coverage our players, club and fans have had in recent years. No-one has ever said we deserve to be immune from scandal or negativity. Sh!t happens and Rangers has not become the successful institution it is via hiding from its challenges. However, balance and accuracy is what we seek. So in an era where the Celtic manager is a proven bigot (after being made skipper for his troubles in that period) and what seems like half the Aberdeen team, including their captain, are also apparently keen on making sectarian violence a joke; at what point will the crusaders in this sham admit the millions of pounds spent on this subject will continue to be wasted as long as there is one rule for some and one rule for another. Scotland's shame indeed.

Aberdeen Players Disciplined for Sectarian Comments
Frankie replied to Frankie's topic in General Football Chat
Correct - will be interesting to see how the media deal with this. -
Dons skipper Zander Diamond and injured midfielder Michael Paton were caught 'red-handed' this morning making sectarian comments on Facebook. Screen-shot below: Aberdeen FC have replied to say 'the players concerned have already been dealt with internally and the posts deleted.'... No apology and no indication of the punishment.

We started pretty slowly but there's no doubt we've grown as a unit and we've played some superb attacking football at times. Defensively we've been less consistent but have kept our best form there for the CL which has proven useful! Lots of hard work to go though!

Ian Black is a liar...

Guy is a joke with comments like that.

The wider the pitch, the better a winger will play. That's why he looks good at Ibrox and that's why he did well at Easter Road after coming on. Tynecastle and Pittodrie are tighter so he was always going to find it difficult to create space to run at players where he is at his most dangerous. All in all, he had a bad game today. No need for us to over-analyse that.

Nope, Hutton didn't get on. Wylde was warming up with about 10mins to go as well and looked ready to come on about then but I assume the equaliser changed things there.

Resignation from the board of rangers supporters trust
Frankie replied to BrahimHemdani's topic in Rangers Chat
We've all been on that particular step I'm afraid. Indeed, it appears to be a permanent place for those of us that are not spared opprobrium from those who form that very committee (if it still exists). Perhaps PLG can advise as I've yet to hear the Trust tell us how they intend to deal with those that have been responsible for the mistakes we've all read about and the lies we've all seen regularly posted elsewhere? Surely everything can't be Alan Harris' fault? -
Apologies for singling out this part of your post but just before (if it hasn't already happened mind you) people associate this with anything, I've no interest in leading the RST or any other fan organisation. I'm no leader and I'm not capable of doing the work required for such a position. I am though, as always, prepared to work with others though and I've said this all along. The attempts to suggest otherwise from overly paranoid people elsewhere are merely diversionary tactics to remove the focus of negative attention from themselves to others completely nothing to do with the performance of the Trust. Like you say, perhaps if they stopped doing that and concentrated on actually improving their outreach work then their organisation wouldn't be failing before their and our eyes. Welcome to Gersnet!

Weiss was largely dreadful today but his contribution so far has been reasonable enough. He's still young, his decision-making is poor and he's entitled to a bad game just as everyone else is. In many ways, I don't think he's as good on the left as he would be on the right so I'd like to see him and Naismith swap a bit more often. I'm not pressing the panic button marked 'Lee Martin' yet but Weiss has to do a lot more to justify his inclusion other than a few step overs before losing the ball. I guess that does make him worth £9million to Russian teams though.
