  1. But, if we take your information at face value, he will be the majority shareholder as he's surely likely to be putting in most money? Again though, with respect, we're simply speculating about hearsay. While the information may be accurate, we need is much more clarity and leadership from everyone involved. Excuses about timing for example just don't cut it. If they have nothing to hide and are the best option then it is time to step forward and garner real support.
  2. Yeah, there should be goals so we can only hope Hibs score more... Meanwhile, we have to go about our business properly!
  3. The one thing that these informed people (and they are often correct to be fair) have been consistent about is that any takeover would probably happen early this year around January/February. Therefore, it could be this is the time King expects the charges against him to be dropped leaving him free to buy the club. However, this makes my points about King, Murray and Johnston already being involved with a struggling club even more valid.
  4. Seems a bizarre coincidence and I certainly don't know anyone with the extra s. What also makes our representatives convinced that King, Murray and Johnston will be capable of turning round the club given (non-executive positions or not) they've contributed to the problems of the last decade? More so, when Johnston was quite clear in that he didn't think fan participation was agreeable?
  5. Gavin Masterton - Dunfermline FC director and he of SDM's failed attempt to buy and lease-back Ibrox - not to mention other dubious ventures?!! I'm sorry but hearsay and conjecture shouldn't be enough for anyone - Duffy and Masterton being prime examples of why we need to know more facts.
  6. So, who are the imminent new owners and what is their plan to avoid the selling of assets now and in the future? And where do the support fit into this new business model?
  7. Was hoping Hibs could do us a favour tonight but the loss of Bamba is quite important for them defensively so can't see anything other than a Celtic win unfortunately...
  8. Yep, that's the $64,000 (or rather £31million) question...
  9. Yeah, don't blame Accies for telling them to bugger off!
  10. The problem for the bank is that if we win the SPL, then we qualify for the CL so we will be able to meet our debt obligations to them. However, if we lose the SPL and if the Scottish Euro co-efficient decreases further then the CL money becomes improbable and their chances of recouping their debt reduced - or delayed at best. As such, while the debt may be been restructured suitably for the moment, whose to say the situation won't be re-examined to our detriment in the summer. The scenario of selling key assets (be it players or cement and mortar) is never that far away.
  11. With respect, you'll find that Gersnet (via Bluedell) were the first site to highlight the possibility of causing Muir problems at the club AGM in December. Bizarrely, despite him posting about this elsewhere, no-one united behind that message - deciding to leave it a couple of weeks before repackaging it as a Trust AGM tactic. Of course we want to unite and work together with other sections of the support but other key elements do not want that. Neither do I think anyone is questioning the honesty or intentions of any potential buyer. We're simply asking for more detail in why we should be backing them. Moreover, if they are indeed serious about buying the club, then of course unwanted attention will be brought on them personally. Some negative but, as SDM found, some positive which should help their own profile - personally and in business. Similarly, if they are that worried about personal flak from going public, why are they happy to let others take the flak on their behalf by organising banners and giving quotes to the media? I'd contend the Rangers support are eager to see a new era at the club. I don't think we expect tens of millions of pounds to be pumped into it but we would like to see a new era of prudence and efficiency while retaining our competitive edge by being able to sign and keep a good standard of player. Furthermore, as the sole biggest investors into the club year on year, we'd like more of a say in how it is run and are prepared to pay for this privilege. Those are reasonable expectations I'm sure you'll agree. As such, if potential investors want us to back them, then they should back us by showing us what they have to offer.

    Miller is back tomorrow apparently...
  13. While one may be critical of the supporters organisations for not looking to improve/widen their contribution, I think the same criticism should be reserved for those behind any bid for the club. I see knowledgeable people right across the online community asking similar questions and holding similar doubts but they're either patronised or dismissed by those 'in the know' which is rather worrying. People are not airing their doubt because they are hysterical or in the huff because they're not involved but simply because they want something tangible to buy into and are excited for a new future. The lack of effort to engage professionally with the support is somewhat disheartening but I guess patience is a virtue. I'd again contend the buyer (or his close, credible associates) should be looking to lead front in this regard to remove the communication obstacles in our way.

I doubt anyone will deny Lafferty has under-achieved this season but as Danny is correctly pointing out he is capable of a much better contribution so instead of barracking the lad any every opportunity we need to back him until he finds his form. The players who are returning should help focus his mind on that as if he doesn't improve he'll be back out of the team and unlikely to be trusted again by the management.
  15. Nice on - cheers Gav!
  16. Surely I'm not going to have to step in again, Stewarty? Also, can I have names for our February fixtures please: February 3rd Wed: Rangers v St Johnstone (CIS Semi-Final) - Gazza_8 6th Sat: St Mirren v Rangers (Scottish Cup 5th Round) - Super_Ally 10th Wed: Motherwell v Rangers (SPL) - Zappa 14 Sun: Rangers v Hibernian (SPL) - Frankie 20 Sat: St Johnstone v Rangers (SPL) - craig 28 Sun: Rangers v Celtic (SPL) - Norris Cole
  17. rbr: Last month, in the wake of the Duffy fiasco, I said it would be agreeable that people in receipt of reliable information would be better advised keeping quiet and especially refraining from releasing tit-bits via subjective opinions on internet forums. Silence is much more professional and I was glad to see that happened for a few weeks at least. Ergo, like you, I was hoping the issue was progressing well, advice was being taken, consultations between all parties positive and patience advocated for the plebs excited by the unofficial stuff we'd read elsewhere. Unfortunately, we're now back to unofficial rumour-mongering, fan reps contradicting themselves, and those plebs asking fair questions and/or raising doubts accused of hysteria. This comes out of banners being organised by people who've yet to raise their head publicly and involve us all in the debate. I'm not being overly-critical here as I know the situation is unusual and our support infamously fickle but we need to know more so we can all form our own opinions based on facts - not hearsay.
  18. Yeah read that - seemed that once again those asking valid questions were labelled hysterical trouble-makers or told to do their own thing. Hardly the kind of leadership we want to see. However, I'm sure these people are as frustrated as the rest of us with the status quo.
  19. Oooh Damour - what's a girl in love to do...!
  20. Once again while a few banners may be all well and good in terms of creating pressure on the bank to achieve a cheaper price, us fans - the greatest single investors into the club - are left wondering exactly what is going on with this game of chance.

Agreed mate... I mentioned Burke only because he had similar hype, did well when he broke into the team but for a variety of reasons didn't make the best of his chance. Injuries or not, I don't want Fleck to make the same mistake so the physical conditioning you mention would certainly be agreeable in that respect.
  22. Well, we can be positive and say, that's a good thing as it means we're not losing any of our important players... Or we can be negative and say we're not bringing in any players to supplement a squad that is obviously short on experience. Either way, I think I've heard the manager say we're not signing anyone before and we've gone onto do so. If we do move Rothen on, then perhaps the money saved from his wage could be put towards another loan player but whether or not that would provide value is open to question. I guess we'll know in 7 days time.

Good points Zappa... Fleck has the basic talent - we can all see that - but he'll have to do more in games unless he wants to become another Chris Burke or the like.

I've no idea if he was rushed back or whatever but his work-rate and fitness is questionable. As I said, I think his top-level career has probably been curtailed by his last knee injury.
