Broadfoot has been one of our best players this season. Deserves a new contract and I believe one will be offered soon enough.

Poor Boyd has no chance of escaping the critics when even Captain Kirk is extracting the urine... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxaDnBcashY]YouTube - Big Kirk rips Kris Boyd.[/ame]

Good point S_A.... I think Boyd's strongest critic is Walter Smith. As such, he'll be the one he has to impress to ensure he does get a run of games.

How did I know you'd say that guvnor...?

Also sick to the back teeth of it. Unfortunately we can't sit back and allow these people to sirect the show. Articles will be going up over the next few days. Cal's tonight, mine tomorrow night and yours on Friday to conclude and show the madness up for what it is.

Now, I'm the first person to criticise the club for not making enough money from marketing/branding etc. As such, when I heard about the new hoardings, I was pretty happy and initially they seemed to work well. However, last night, in the second half, it was almost impossible at times to track the ball because of the colours/animations used in some ads. I think a bit more test work has to be done to ensure this doesn't happen again.

Walter's ill-informed outburst riles the decent, web-savvy fan

Fair points Ricky and I wasn't necessarily directing my earlier cynicism towards yourself. While I agree the sectarianism issue is a sham, I do hasten to add that Rangers (and our fans) have always been proactive in addressing any challenges we've had - even if some of these could be perceived as contentious. Moreover, we've always accepted we're not lily-white but only request parity from the powers at that be - if such songs/chants/terms are to be addressed. As it stands that has not happened so that's why we correctly complain about the coverage. Indeed, while you refreshingly admit your support face similar challenges, it's a shame your own club's senior administration don't. The comments from Lawwell and Reid the other week were cowardly when one considers the kind of thing you talk about. Yet, not one person has taken them to task on it. This sums up the imbalance in the issue perfectly.- 51 replies

He was always likely to play better after the Scotland issue so I'm not overly convinced yet. Two good games over the next week will help - not to mention more goals. As for last night, he did play well. Showed excellent commitment and sharpness at the goal and generally played pretty good overall. Could still work a bit harder at times but he wasn't the only one to take it a bit easier as the game dies a death after the second goal.

If true (and it's a big if), obviously his long term fitness must be an issue as if he's 100% fit and playing well, then he's arguably still a better player than big Sasa.

Barry and I have a couple of similar articles for publish later in the week. I think yours will fit in nicely as well.

Sums it up pretty well for me. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/comment/columnists/sport-columnists/jim-traynor/2008/09/22/isn-t-there-enough-to-worry-about-without-beating-ourselves-up-over-a-line-in-a-song-86908-20747676/
-
Decent point but it shouldn't be a journalist pointing this out (although Traynor already has) but SDM and Martin Bain. They did a few weeks ago but obviously their point wasn't strong enough.
-
But it happens all the time. Look at Novo against Plastic Whistle the other week. He received stuff just as bad, much louder and yet nothing was said; not by you, not by anyone. Where do we draw the line?
-
The fans haven't been 'pleaded with' not to sing that song. If anything, the club have given their tacit backing to it via Bain's statement a few weeks back where they highlighted the police's reluctance to comment officially, highlighted the accepted meaning of the song and highlighted the inconsistency of Rangers being the only team targeted.
-
Yep, it's not exactly value for money in the SPL... Thankfully some teams seem to be reducing prices so hopefully our fans will benefit from that.
-
Silence for me as well...
-
I don't think there anything warped about singing that song. Is it tasteless? Aye, it probably is. But nothing more than that - certainly not racist or sectarian.
-
Gazza; it's football. Supporters will pick up on anything to slag off opposition players or fans. The fact this Scottish lad turned down his own country to play for Ireland is seen as the ultimate plastic paddyism so the song is directed at him as a result.
