We may not be a selling club per se but we certainly now seem to have a habit of selling our best players at the wrong times while failing to replace them with similar quality.

And on that note, get the Match Preview thread up...

All sounds interesting and worthy of further investigation and debate. However, I must admit I'm struggling to see how you can force change without having an alternative in place for like-minded people to buy into. SDM wants to go and increasing numbers of fans agree that his time is up. As such, the protest side of things is becoming increasingly irrelevant. It's the offered alternative that's now important. To say it isn't undermines any such group's credibility IMO. One just can't say change will improve things without evidence or alternatives. It may well force positive change and I sincerely hope it does but considering you complain of posturing by others, this very general protest group seems (initially at least) to be guilty of exactly the same. You seem to be in the know with regard to who is involved and what plans are being discussed. As such, I hope you don't mind me asking a few very general and simple questions: 1. Who is involved in the group? Who is James Baillie? 2. Do you have high net worth backers capable of buying the club? A Fergus McCann if you like. If so, who? 3. How do you intend forcing Murray out given his 91.8% shareholding and apparent lack of available buyers? 4. What protest methods are under consideration? Do you have a time-line? 5. How does the group intend to obtain backing from the Rangers support? 6. What ideas do you have for reaching the apathetic majority? I look forward to you explaining this.

Seedorf has something about us on his Wiki as well. Not true of course. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clarence_Seedorf

That's a better way of looking at it and I'd also be interested in Larsson as well...
-
Must admit the thought of McFadden doesn't particularly excite me... I'm sure there are much better players available for the money he'd cost.
-
'Murray out!' may well be essentially pointless per se but pressure should still be applied to try and ensure the issues we have with the running of the club are addressed. There was little evidence of this in what was a very bland 6 minute interview. Obviously there are different methods of protest (direct and indirect) and this is where leadership, organisation and innovation are imperative to firstly address any perceived problems and then facilitate an exit strategy for Murray. Unfortunately, I see little evidence of this as it stands. What will be interesting is not the alleged protest 'organised' for 2pm tomorrow but the reaction of the crowd if we're beaten. Reactive and not proactive isn't just restricted to the RFC board...

I think the lad would be a great signing...
-
Nothing new of note... *Disappointed in Cuellar leaving in a football sense but in a financial way it was a good bit of business; *All the Cuellar money is available for transfers but wont be rushed into signings; *Conspiracy theorists, media, phone-ins and unofficial websites are causing trouble based on lies; *He wants out but wont go till the club is in safe hands and challenged any potential buyers/critics to put their money where their mouth is and put an offer on the table

My network is still up as well!

My internet is just about to go down at work for 30mins as well... Better do some work for a change then...
-
I welcome this interview but we've had many of them in the past with similar false promises .... Time for action not words...!
-
Apparently this initiative is being organised by Vanguard Bears.
-
That doesn't surprise me...
-
I'm sure the group are serious enough but I can't really comment until I know a lot more about the project. I do think they made an error going to the media without having their website operational though.
-
Aye, apparently Roughie mentioned it last night but he's not usually very well known for his scoops...!
-
Of course it doesn't have to be micro-managed. More spontaneous action could be good for us all. However, there still has to be aims, plans and organisation. Without that, we could cause more harm than good. Like you say some people have waited a long time to achieve change at Rangers. Some have also worked very hard towards it. As such, I'm sure you'll agree it's vital that if genuine change is near we should maximise it's chance of success. I'd be interested to hear what you think will emerge - privately if you prefer.
-
Sounds interesting mate but I don't think Roughie is well renowned for his inside info.... As with every rumour, please keep salt handy...
-
Some good news at last... More still required.

MF: Of course I doubt if what I suggested would work. Given my own experiences, I'd be the first to say question it's suitability. However, I feel there is no other current workable alternative. Do you honestly think a few people protesting will create the change at the top table quickly? Who organises these protests? Who decides their content? What are the aims? Who decides the aims? What happens if the aims are met? What happens if they don't?

I wish I did mate.... We need to focus exactly on what has went wrong and offer solutions to change it. We read post after post saying the club is not performing well so these concerns should be aired at the AGM and a time-line sought to address and fix them. The club should not be allowed to hide from it's responsibilities and the incredible talent of our support should be consulted to seek fresh ideas AND improve poor relations. The delay in a fan being appointed to the board happening has been most disappointing. In the absence of this, a simple idea I'd like to propose to the board of Rangers Football Club is that a committee is formed to debate the future of the club. Several fans should be involved, as should Bain, Donald McIntrye and Andrew Dickson. Some ex-players could also be involved. This committee should look to consult all supporters (season ticket holders, shareholders and RSC members) while inviting contributions from all fans throughout the world. From that, real investigation of the issues at hand can be conducted and a full report offered thereafter. It wouldn't be easy. It wouldn't happen overnight. The answers may not be as attractive as we'd like. However, it would mean the club and support working together again and is a wholly positive method of dealing with all our concerns.

I'm still not sure about Beasley but there's no doubt he's exactly the kind of player the team needs at the moment...
-
Agreed. Which was why it was imperative to have an elected and accountable supporter on the board of the club... He/she would have been able to pin-point where the failings were and work with the supporters/club to find solutions.

bmck: I think lots of the criticism has been reactionary but there has also been lots from people who have maintained throughout that the club is being badly run. As such, it's imperative these concerns are addressed in the correct forum. Better late than never may be the adage here.
