  1. Just confirmed for 28th July at Ibrox Stadium
  2. No-one can tell at that age mate. As you know, when I was 15 I was the best goalie in Europe... Look at me now...
  3. Going to be posting this poll on every Rangers site today. Obviously you don't need to be a member of any of these organisations to vote. Similarly, if you think none of them are doing a good job, please say so. To try and make the topic more interesting (and very helpful for me) it would also be great if we got a few reasons for your choice of vote. Cheers!
  4. Yep, a player who really made the game worth watching.... Sadly missed!
  5. Buffel cost us £2.3million and was played regularly enough since he signed. He's showed glimpses of good form and has contributed to some good wins. Occassionally he's suffered from being moved about too often within the formation but he does enjoy playing in a free role which indicates he should be able to play anywhere in the offensive positions. Negatively and overall, he's injury prone, he's lazy, he's inconsistent, he's not physical enough and he doesn't do anywhere near enough to justify his wage and his reputation. In a period of time where we have not won a thing for 2 years, I'd contend underperforming senior, international players like Buffel are one of the main reasons why our morale, our spirit and our trophy cupboard are so bereft of success.
  6. The post-split fixtures have been announced today, and are as follows: Saturday 21st April: Rangers v Hearts ââ?¬â?? 3pm kickoff Saturday 28th April: Hibernian v Rangers ââ?¬â?? 3pm kickoff Saturday 5th May: Rangers v Celtic ââ?¬â?? 1230 kickoff (live on Setanta) Sunday 13th May: Rangers v Kilmarnock ââ?¬â?? 2pm kickoff (live on Setanta) Sunday 20th May: Aberdeen v Rangers ââ?¬â?? 2pm kickoff
  7. I actually don't think an away ticket ban is the right thing to do. Fans will still travel anyway, some of them will still get tickets and some of them will still sing the offensive chants. We need something much more constructive than simply saying don't travel as that simply won't work.
  8. http://www.rangerssupporterstrust.co.uk/rstsite/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=94&Itemid=1 The Rangers Supporters Trust is pleased to report to our members that a comprehensive plan, entitled The Way Ahead for Rangers, has been presented to Sir David Murray. In preparing this plan, the Trust has taken account of the many views expressed to us by our members on a wide range of issues. In addition, the Trust has developed some innovative ideas on how the Club should move forward and on how to raise much needed new finance. Some of the points raised have financial implications, some have reputation implications for the Club, and some have emotional implications for the supporters. The Way Ahead for Rangers covers the following key areas: 1. Supporter representation 2. GerSave 3. Leadership 4. People 5. Press and PR 6. Museum 7. Stadium 8. Youth academy 9. Players 10. Matchday experience 11. International branding 12. Pitch fundraising scheme 13. Season tickets 14. Scouting 15. Blue Caf© The Trust expects to meet with Sir David Murray shortly to discuss in detail the feasibility and implementation of The Way Ahead for Rangers and we will keep our members informed of developments.
  9. PM me your old and new address along with your membership number mate and I will do the rest...
  10. http://www.rangerssupporterstrust.co.uk/rstsite/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=92&Itemid=1 Tonight on Radio Scotland's Sportsound programme, Trust Media Spokesman, David Edgar revealed plans of a major summer conference for Rangers supporters. The RST intend to organise an event attended by politicians; UEFA delegates; 'Show Racism the Red Card' reps; top Scottish businessmen; ex-players and other relevant bodies, where several important issues can be discussed and debated by every Rangers supporter. This forum will also look to at last achieve much needed clarity with regard to the sectarianism debate. Although politicians, the authorities, footballing bodies and the media have all had their say, none have come up with genuine solutions to what is not just a football problem but a social one. The Trust hope this conference will go some way to changing the status quo in a constructive and positive fashion whilst at the same time bringing Rangers fans together to discuss many other aspects of our great club. More news on this exciting event will be made public at the RST Dinner this Saturday at the Holiday Inn, Glasgow.
  11. Yep, I think some of this is because the fans feel victimised mate. Other clubs get away with everything while we are pilloried every other day without defence from the club. However, that doesn't make it right so we have to come up with a strategy or idea to improve matters. I hear there may be some more info on this on Radio Scotland tonight.
  12. Didn't get much of a chance to contribute over the weekend about the various discussions about the YouTube issue. Again, though it's amazing the double standards of the press when it comes to these grainy mobile phone videos and subsequent coverage. However, no matter the obvious media problems we have, that can no way excuse the behaviour of our fans. F T P has no place in our songs and no place in our support at any game. To suggest it does is foolhardy and will end in the death of our club. The fen!an term is perhaps less clear but in any case UEFA have banned it's use and we have to follow their rules - no matter how hypocriticial some may be when complaing about it. Now, we can all be upset at the unfair treatment we get from the media. We can also be upset at the lack of defence from the chairman of our club. But, we cannot ignore the fact we still have a reasonable size of our support (most accurately our away support) who are obviously suicidal. The Billy Boys is creeping back. F T P is not going away. Red hand salutes are still fashionable amongst many home and away. This is all going to be reported and acted upon at some point - not just by UEFA but by the SFA from next season. Who fancies a 10 point deduction for next season? I don't. Not for some idiots in our support who can't learn their lesson. The next 2 years can see the Rangers modernise and improve. Or it can die. Melo-dramatic maybe. Sensational, perhaps. Realistic - too right! However, we have to be very careful in how we approach this conundrum. Education and not always direct condemnation is the key here. Leadership is also required and we need help in getting the message across that the situation is dangerous and we need to change for the better. As such, IMO, we - the fans and the tolerant majority - have to lead from the front. WE have to be more constructive in leading the fight against sectarianism and clarifying exactly what is expected from the support. The club won't do it. The RSA won't do it. The police won't do it. The politicians won't do it. The media crusaders won't do it. Thankfully, I'm hearing that there are very positive signs of something happening regarding this problem. There are fans prepared to lead the way and there are some very imaginative ideas for combatting the bigotry issue amongst the small (but vocal) cross section of support. What will be needed though is support for these fans and support for the initiatives that may introduce. Debating the partiality of the media and the authorities is certainly still relevant. But for that debate to have better credibility means we have to sort out our own faults. Let's hope we can do that together sooner rather than later. The alternative doesn't bear thinking about.
  13. I must have been watching a different game. Aberdeen caused us no problems whatsoever and our whole defence strolled through the game. Papac did dive in a few times in the first half but generally he didn't give Miller a sniff and considering how Papac struggled physically earlier this season, I thought he showed great improvement. In the first half we were superb and although we took the foot off the gas in the 2nd for obvious reasons our midfield still controlled the flow of the game. Each to their own though and that's exactly why we have the poll.... I
  14. Now online... http://www.gersnetonline.net/newsite/
  15. Thanks for that mate... Our support definitely seem to be treading on shaky ground.
  16. http://www.gersnetonline.net/newsite/index.php?option=com_docman&task=cat_view&gid=17&Itemid=34 Enjoy! Includes, RFC wallpaper, GersNet background, appropriately coloured graphics and 'Simply the Best' ringtone.
  17. It's fake mate. Had me fooled as well for a few mins.
  18. No-one is suggesting our support are angels. However, the vast majority are and to try and infer they deserved to beaten and joke about it is reprehensible.
  19. Supposedly Prso isn't fit enough to start games...
  20. Fat Jim seems a bit puzzled as to what he means... Funnily enough I noted his silence last week after the Celtic fans sung their IRA hymns of hate.
  21. Hardest one to pick so far I think... Probably Hemdani for me - just! http://www.gersnetonline.net/newsite/index.php
  22. £30 software - it's a fake!
  23. Socks and sandles...
  24. Not really interested in Wright personally. But hope Brown signs and McDonald would be an interesting addition.
  25. It's what Joke and his cohorts want. Go on about a non(or minimal issue) to hide the bigger problems of poverty, health and crime which his administration will not address.
