Except there's nothing "measured" about the sort of criticism being spouted about Beale and if there's any mocking being done it's probably not the optimists among us who are doing it.

I think it's very likely the entire squad will benefit from this change. It's been obvious the players had lost faith in Gio and no manager can succeed without the players on board. Hopefully the clouds will lift now.

I'd have thought more of GvB if he'd kept his mouth closed instead of taking an oblique and unsubstantiated swipe at the club. Whatever the surrounding circumstances, he was well paid and needs to own his failures, not insinuate blame on others.

It will be interesting to see if the likes of Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos are willing to sign a new contract now that GvB is gone and Beale is back.

It's pointless to agonise over what, if anything, GvB meant by his comment about "unique challenges and some very difficult circumstances". 1. We have no way of knowing for sure what he is alluding to. 2. Even if we did, we can't know if it's true or not. 3. Even if it is true, it's too late now. 4. The future is far more important to Rangers than water under the bridge.
