  1. Why would you do that? You’re drawing conclusions no one is even suggesting.
  2. Even when the “some” is the BLM organisation itself. ? You couldn’t make this up. Only the reality is they did make it up. Everyone I’ve ever seen comment on the issue believes that black lives matter. All lives in fact. The problem many have is using knee-taking and clenched fists that are inextricably associated with a self- confessed Marxist protest organisation. Are we really saying that football players cannot find the wit to protest against perceived discrimination without getting down on their knees? Seriously?
  3. I think Rangers has made great strides forward wrt discrimination and as a club should focus on the appropriateness of our existing initiatives in discouraging all forms of discrimination. There’s a danger of Campaigns like Everyone Anyone being lost or diluted in the rush to join an increasingly tarnished bandwagon. It’s understandable that players and staff should want to show support but from now on I feel it should be on the platform of our own excellent initiatives.
  4. The problem isn’t with BLM or those who oppose it. BLM is very open about its revolutionary leftist agenda and those who support it on that basis are entirely entitled to do so - as are those like myself who think BLM’s stated aims are a very bad collection of ideas. The big problem comes from those who deliberately ignore and will fully deny the reality of BLM, preferring instead to pretend it’s about some nebulous (but never defined) concept like fairness or equality or respect or enlightenment. I mean, what better basis is there on which to demonstrate what virtuous people we all are. Pity it’s all a crock of shit, as can be seen in every MSM report on the subject. Talk about being suckered. So no, I won’t support play-acting bollocks like taking a knee and yes, I would prefer if Rangers didn’t get involved either. Our EveryoneAnyone campaign is excellent and needs no association with BLM.
  5. Racial equality isn’t a political issue as far as I’m concerned and me being of a particular political leaning is utterly irrelevant. To think it is, as you clearly do, is to admit that BLM is itself a political movement. However, if you’re going to go down the equality route, you first have to define an equality That can be applied to everyone, not an equality tailored to suit a selected grouping. BLM hasn’t been shy in defining its role in terms of extreme leftist objectives. How else should we react to BLM if not in terms of how it defines itself. If there’s any tarring going on it’s being perpetrated by those who pretend BLM is apolitical despite its own clarification that it is wholly political and strictly leftist. This is what happens when the marketing message gets confused with reality. So you have privileged sportsmen and celebrities of all descriptions taking a knee in support of an organisation that has made clear its aim is the overthrow of the structures of the state and the promotion of LGBT, Muslim, Palestinian, BAME, etc rights. What happened to racism? You’re being smoked like a kipper.
  6. You need to
  7. It’s a bit late for that, don’t you think? The hijack is complete and the “message“ was jettisoned In the first few days. The Golden coffin is buried, the statues are coming down, history is being re-written, the shops are looted, and the anti-capitalist revolution proclaimed on TV by BLM. So what you “won’t allow” is fairly irrelevant and much too late. That hijacking is only emphasised every time some privileged black millionaire takes a knee. As a means of dissuading racist behaviour it’s been a disaster.
  8. No problem, go after the racists, I hope they all go to prison. In the meantime can everyone climb down off the BLM knee-bending bandwagon and leave the rest of us to get on with our non-racist lives? Or do you really think seeing sportsmen taking a knee to is going to have the slightest effect on someone who calls people “black bastards”? Can we be honest and admit that knee bending and fist raising by prominent people is designed only to show the world how virtuous they are. Nothing has changed for actual racists. If anything, the righteous posturing and grandstanding by some in the media has only had a divisive and negative effect.
  9. What an absolute joke. Seeking equality with who? Equality with some white guy flipping burgers for a pittance maybe? Or equality with someone trying to feed his family on minimum wage? Or equality with teenage girls being groomed and abused for being white? Maybe equality with some black kid stabbed and spilling his blood in some housing estate from hell? Yeah I can see why privileged footballers would be so anxious about inequality as they go from one bout of self- pity to the next. I’ll take them seriously as advocates of social justice when they come out and say all lives matter and stop surfing the BLM wave of hysterical race baiting.
  10. Go right ahead. Be my guest. Let me know how you get on. But there’s no “we”.
  11. So are people not allowed to criticise the knee-bending circus without being accused of racism? It’s madness
  12. Who has been “abusing” Connor Goldson? Was it a Rangers fan? If so what are the police doing about it? What has it got to do with decent Rangers fans? Rangers is a football club, not a racism campaign. Why are some fans trying to make this Rangers’ business? Whose agenda are they pushing?
  13. I know, it's ridiculous. Everyone knows they're nothing like saucers.
  14. No, it's simply someone who's sick to death of an incessant, one-sided commentary on racism being pushed down his throat when it has no bearing whatsoever on his life.
  15. So who really gives a shit? I wish it didn't happen but I don't do it, no one I know does it, I don't know anyone who's suffered from it, it's just not part of my world. I don't want racism brought to my door, I don't want anything to do with racists or those who think virtue signalling about it is a good idea. Stop knee bending, stop the hypocrisy and please, can everyone stop fucking going on about it. You never know, it might just go away if we stop resurrecting it every five minutes.
  16. I suppose it would be a shame really, considering the enjoyment some seem to get from it
  17. Nope, I know what I’m doing
  18. Strangely for an old bloke I manage my spam/junk folders on a daily basis.
  19. I haven’t received any email yet. When were they sent out?
  20. Nothing confirms self-righteousness like adopting a conspiracy theory. The psychology of it is fascinating, there’s virtually nothing we can’t convince ourselves to believe.
  21. Very lucky
  22. I wonder if the day will come when the notion of Rangers playing in England is finally accepted for the futile pipe dream it clearly is?
  23. Bill

    Lyon v Rangers

Yup, and if the team that takes the field next season bears any resemblance to last season then we will be found just as wanting again.
  24. Since I already know what my football club represents and where it calls home, I have the privilege of not having to fret about names.
  25. Ok so let’s all agree on something. How about “There are lots of non-experts around so therefore there are no experts at all”. Or let’s try another one - “experts sometimes get it wrong, therefore experts never get it right”. See how clever we can be when we try really hard. The point of experts isn’t to tell you the answers to everything and make decisions for you. It’s to provide informed opinion so you can reach better decisions yourself. It all goes tits up when you mix these things up.
