Any delay to starting the new season will hit other clubs finances hard and the pressure to resolve the matter will be high. The SPFL could hardly have made a worse mess of this.

It all looks just fine. I'm looking forward to the better quality that's been promised because Rangers has been selling cheap market stall garbage for years.

It looks that way. Not that it would be a problem if we got good players out of it but the results so far have been very mixed.

Half of Europe has second teams competing in the league structure and all of those countries have a far higher standard of football than we do. That'doesnt mean second teams guarantee a better league system but it does mean it won't do any harm. I think it would be better for Rangers, better for Rangers players and better for Rangers fans. What's not to like?

I'm not saying we should brush anything off. I am saying that if we have to wait until there are no corrupt officials in Scottish football before we can win a league title then we'll never win another one. So we'd better plan of improving our own performances so that we can win number 55 despite them.

I can't see how extending the season could change the dates in a player's contract. Unless you think their contracts just say "...until the end of the season" ?

I imagine at least half the current first team will go in this transfer window. We can't sell high and buy low unless we do the selling first, although I'm sure that will be our aim. I wonder if we could have seen the last of Katic, Goldson, Tavernier, Kamara, Morelos, and Davis?

I honestly thought Glenn Middleton had left Rangers. It will be interesting to see whether he's still a Rangers player three months from now. On a general point I wonder if new contracts will have a clause stating payment will begin on football actually starting again? It seems the only way transfer deals will get moving.

I've a feeling you're right. The shop will be part of an overall sales strategy but nevertheless, like all other elements, it needs to achieve all that it can achieve. We can't afford to have any part of our merchandising platform underachieving and the stadium shop will still be important.

It's a good point, the shop (it's not really mega-anything) will have to move if we want to maximise our merchandising effort .... unless there are big plans for online sales and/or a number of other outlets.
