SPFL Season declaration challenged legally (ongoing discussion)
Bill replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Rangers won't win anything at next week's meeting and they must know that. So presumably this is just a step along the way to a legal showdown -

I think they or anyone else who does things like this should always be credited for such efforts. -

I understand times are tough and getting tougher but I still haven't heard what it is people expect the club to do about it. I've said repeatedly the club should be actively cutting costs wherever possible but I find it hard to encourage it to cut income. Which is why I said several; pages back that fans who can't afford to renew shouldn't do so and those who can, should. But I think it's unrealistic to expect the club to cut prices so that more people can afford anew ST, certainly until it sees how the renewal programme is going. -

I don't think standing still with the rate of inflations is going to get us where we want to be though. -

Ah, right. I had no idea what the current price was. -

I can see it might not suit some but in the grand scheme of things, how many people are affected by the Bar72 situation? Doesn't the 2-year option remove the price increase anyway? It may not be ideal for some but I don't think we should get carried away in condemning the club when it seems to be meeting the requirements of the great majority of fans, the Covid19 situation notwithstanding. -

Thanks yet again @The Moonlighter Wasn't the renovation of McBeath's grave initially the work of Vanguard Bears? -

I'm quite calm about it. Those who want to sign up, for whatever reason, should be encouraged to do so. For myself, so far, I'm comfortable not becoming a member and couldn't give a fig what anyone else thinks about it. The only thing that might swing it for me is if I needed to buy tickets ... but that's unlikely. What I wanted to see was a decent discount on the Rangers TV subscription but unless I've missed it that doesn't seem to be on the table. -

You're an observant bugger because that's quite brilliant ? However I am still concerned by the apparent lack of cost savings at the club. -

That must be the thick end of £250,000 in 4 days. I'm struggling to see where the value is -

There's no way out. If it was initially just a mistake then the subsequent denials and cover up must be deliberate. -

Compo I think we have to accept this isn't just the SNP. There has been plenty opportunity for opposition parties to make far more noise about this but they've clearly chosen not to. To be honest, if the feckless performance of Jackson Carlaw and whoever is running Labour is anything to go by then the SNP is going to be returned unopposed in 2021. The Tories in particular are just treading water and passing up a huge opportunity to find a winning constituency in Scotland. -

In the best Celtic tradition, let's just say a rolling 12 month sentence. -

I think he should have served at least as long as Celtic are taking to conclude their internal investigation. -

As some sort of benchmark, does anyone know what Celtic's latest kit deal is worth, albeit it won't have been negotiated in times like these? -

I just think we should wait until we see what the deal actually is before judging it. All we have seen amounts to little more than gossip and could be well wide of the mark. But even if this were to be accurate, which I doubt, then compared to being lumbered with Ashely it is a huge step forward. -
You hardly see a Scottish Nationalist on twitter who doesn't include an Irish tricolour or some Celtic symbolism in his/her profile. It's clear who is now driving the SNP and it isn't the kilted jacobites, with or without a pheasant feather in their hats. I wonder if the SNP realised who they were inviting into the ScotNat club. These pseudo Irish scum will eat the SNP alive from the inside out.

Nor do you know if it's actually £20m or some other figure altogether - or whether it has performance targets that allow us to earn beyond a basic value. -

Superb. I'd say this tells us we have the right people in the right jobs doing the right things at Rangers now. -

The only thing I'd say about that is I'll be stunned if the new retail operation doesn't benefit Rangers by more than the £5m per season mentioned. Perhaps the biggest failing at the club over many years, and certainly stretching further back than the troubles of 2012, has been the failure to fully realise the commercial potential of one of the biggest supports in football. There's a huge market out there but it needs cultivating and it needs to be offered more than a pin badge, a few coffee mugs and clothing that doesn't survive the first wash. Without an integrated marketing strategy, professional brand development and a sales network to match, we will continue to underachieve. These are the things I'm looking to emerge from this fresh start. One of the best things I heard in the recent interviews, and there were many good things, was the decision finally to fully digitise the commercial activity of the club because without this fundamental change to how we interact with the support here and abroad we will struggle to grow. I just hope this also includes a dramatic improvement in how we sell the football product, so that every supporter can access and enjoy watching their team on the park - we need to take this way beyond the 50,000 in the stadium. Rangers TV is a decent offering but it could be vastly better and needs a big shake up. -

Can't see the problem. I don't think Nike, Adidas etc actually manufacture anything. I assume all the various labels simply place a manufacturing order with a third party to produce and distribute the product. I imagine Castore could do this as well as anyone. -

If it is Castore, it will be their first venture in football sportswear. Their existing stuff isn't cheap
