  1. How much is it worth to see the comeback completed by winning the next league title? That's not a rhetorical question, it's something I've been asking myself? It remains to be seen what the increase will be but I'd find it painful to give up the seat. i imagine that would be the same for most supporters.
  2. Would it be possible to post some photographs of the grave and the plaque you mention please?
  3. They're Scotland's original virus.
  4. Any former Rangers player unwilling to tug their forelocks to BBC Celtic will find it hard to get anywhere near a microphone. Those who do are either thick as shit like the Fergusons or desperate for drinking money
  5. Hear hear. A solution that resonates in areas I hadn't even thought of.
  6. Talk about stealing the moral high ground. I take my hat off to my club.
  7. it seems clear to me that Celtic will be gifted the title by a compliant SPFL. In fact, so sure am I this will be the outcome that I've stopped even fretting about it. Some things never change - the inevitability of death, taxes and kissing Celtic's arse.
  8. Season ticket for what exactly?
  9. I wouldn't count on many of the players volunteering to take a cut or worrying about the good of the club. The whole culture of professional football is one of self-interest and our lot will be no different. I don't necessarily blame them but I certainly don't expect any altruism from them. They might grudgingly accept it if the club takes the decision but I suspect that's about it. What it will do to squad morale by the time they're asked to play again is anyone's guess but it might expose why we haven't yet been able to play for more than half a season. On the other hand perhaps they'll surprise me.
  10. Walters for Hately McCann for Lovenkrantz Hately for McCoist
  11. Great post. I think players earning above an appropriate threshold should have wages cut immediately - I don't know what that threshold should be but it seems right that players earning lesser amounts should have relatively smaller reductions. Without sight of detailed employee costs it's hard to say what scope exists for other staff cost reductions but, while everyone would like to protect our employees, the club needs protection too or there will be no jobs for anyone. It's disappointing but entirely typical that football's ruling bodies are failing to provide any leadership in this matter. That said, responsibility for Rangers lies with the Rangers board.
  12. I'm liking this and, please, no twaddle about contractual rights of players. Most ordinary people suffering today, and all taxpayers, also had contractual rights but are having to make sacrifices.
  13. Holy shit, that should carry aa health warning. But I'd definitely have Tam Forsyth in place of John Brown
  14. You could pretty much take any player from that team and they'd walk into any Rangers team that came after them. For example, take a truly wonderful player like Ralph Brand, has there been a better inside forward since?
  15. You've got that right. He's rank rotten most of the time. I really don't know what's happened to Tav. Maybe the job's too big for his shoulders, he wouldn't be the first to suffer from that.
  16. Neither would I underestimate wee Tommy's ability to go past a defender. His pace over 20 yards could be devastating. It's amazing how these things get forgotten but time does tend to do that.
  17. I guess one without the other is a bit pointless but when you think of the number of goals DJ scored fro McLean crosses it hard to argue with the game-winning value of that combination.
  18. Precisely why I suggested at the outside that anyone of immature years like yourself should be ineligible ?
  19. No, what I actually said about Tommy McLean (or certainly meant to say) was that he was the most consistent winger I've seen in a Rangers shirt. I also think he was probably the best too ?
  20. Great work with the points table. I've never seen this sort of analysis before and it does seem to support what I'd always felt to be the case. Despite the success of teams from the Souness era onwards, I always felt there were two great periods in my lifetime, the early 1960s and 1975-78, and found it hard to say for sure which was the better team. On balance, the 1960s team probably had more flair and more players of genuinely top talent, while the 1970s side had more power.
  21. Of course, the only way you can make any sensible choice is if you’ve actually seen each of these teams, not just in big games but across the duration of their play together. ?

Like it was yesterday! Walter Smith would go on to repeat this countless times against Celtic.
  23. This is great work that you do. Thank you, we're all a little bit better because of it.

I always liked Kevin Thomson. Every time I think about his time in a Rangers shirt I remember how close we came to signing Scott Brown instead.
  25. The idea of grasping for an incomplete league title becomes more squalid with every step we take into this dreadful crisis.
