After almost 25 years of devolution, it's clear to me that the chances of Scotland ever being "the nation again" and "rising now" are as close to zero as makes no difference. As always, that deep and persistent flaw in the Scottish character that unerringly puts forward crooks and cretins to do the rising has predictably brought us back to our knees.

A year ago we were about to embark on the worst-ever set of results by any club in the CL ... ever. Today we are about to embark on another European competition with the same defenders who capitulated and humiliated our club last season. Hardly the progress Beale is here to deliver .... he's even managed to leave out the one defender he did sign in the summer.

Offering Barisic a contract extension would be a horrendous move by a clueless manager. Seems everything Beale does has the effect of ensuring mediocrity is retained.

Totally agree, it's cringeworthy. But as long as they do get played it would be a blessing if we didn't feel the need to act like feral adolescents every time.

Their anthem is surely what they choose it to be, not just what you think it should be. Why are Nats always so keen on condemning England when we’re drowning in our own mess?

Flushed another denier

The played 'Scotland The Brave' for a few years but the grunts were incapable of remembering the words so something more steeped in bigotry was needed instead. Us Scots have always needed to mobilise the chip on our shoulders to form an attachment to anything. Sad but true.

I did actually think about that possibility before I posted but then I thought ...... nah, there isn't a cat's chance in hell of Beale winning the title this season. And even if the unlikely miracle does happen, I'll just deny everything and log out.

The great value of this poll is going to be revealed when Beale eventually has to go and those voting 'No' can be asked to admit their mistake.

"Lizzie's in a box" It confirms to me what I've long believed. That supporting the Scotland national team is utterly incompatible with supporting Rangers and any attempt to face different directions at the same time is just that ..... two-faced.

Marvellous response, I imagine the rebel was a bit deflated. I actually have 2 poles and usually fly a saltire alongside the union flag, which annoys them even more! At the moment it's been replaced by the Sweden flag in honour of my daughter in law's family who are visiting from that fine place.

Including Davies while leaving out Balogun strikes me as another classic 'Beale' mistake. He seems determined to ignore what everyone else can see.

This flag flies outside my house every day of the year, except my one isn't upside down. Some of my neighbours stopped talking to me when I installed the flagpole, can't think why, the miserable nationalist basturts.
